Is it just me, or are posts disappearing from this necro'd thread?

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

Mods find a bad post then like to go through the posters history and remove other bad ones the user made so that's probably why.

Okay, so I'm wondering who is really offended by these games and calling them degrading.

I'm a girl, and I really love the graphics in Scarlet Blade. I'm not offended by them. I actually think that the whole futuristic theme + anime style is bad ass. I think that part of all adult MMO's is that the women have revealing costumes and huge boobs or whatever. As a girl, I'm not offended by these games at all. That doesn't mean I prefer games with huge boobs or anything, but I love the style of Scarlet Blade.

Ofc there are things I don't like too. But the gear is awesome in my opinion. I didn't even read the whole review because its the same reaction as so many people. Our cultures are different from the cultures of Japanese and Korean's , which is exactly why people aren't forgiving of the style of games like Scarlet Blade.

If you're offended, don't play it lol.

There's porn and all kinds of things on the internet, to me .. that is more degrading. And Scarlet Blade isn't real women, its just computer animation, so who cares.

I think its awesome so if you don't then why ruin it for other people who enjoy it? I don't want them to change the game, or even get it shut down because people who are offended make such a huge deal about it. No one is forcing you to look or play.

You get a B- in political correctness.

Had you rage posted more, you could have got an A but that's another story for another day.

SB was a one trick pony, they were honest and candid about what they were throwing out there. Nobody got tricked in to playing this for some false motive. There was no bait and switch. I tried it, I even gave them $20. just for being so damn blunt about what they were doing.

Not that I have played the game, but was any research done at all for the world in which this mmo is set?...If so, you should have seen this coming.    In the universe in which it is set (Queen's Blade) almost all characters are scantily clad women.

I will admit that not many in the west knew this since reading manga/watching anime is a niche market and the opinions flow as such.  I just wish some research was done on the audience this targeted, but maybe that was asking too much.

It is also of no surprise that you can't create a male character, again due to the universe.

I am just amazed at the people commenting "they need boobs to sell the game."  Maybe so, but as I said earlier it is part of the universe in which it is set, not so much that they need the money.

Sure, you may hate it on some moral/ethic grounds but at the very least (and please for the love of god) make sure you know what you are getting into.

Wow whom ever published this review for sure did not do it fairly, its a good game and its 18+ .  Anything a cash buyer can get you can get free in game. Their is a male class in this game now also. Morale views and personal standards and opinions should NEVER be part of a game review if this were my site you would be fired for this review on the spot.

The line where you are offended is just at a different place for you e.g if the game had rape in it, would you still call for the reviewer to lose his job?  The game is offensive to many people, having 'young' looking avatars with big boobs is patronising at the very least. Is that really what we want games developers to present as something fresh and innovating to play?  Good on the reviewer.

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

I totally forgot about this thread. Yes the reviewer feels disgusted by pixel boobs - that's what this whole so called review is all about.

The game itself is is one of many asian junk games with the difference that for something so cheap it's actually fun.

Especially the steampunk atmosphere and the apocalyptic world contribute a lot to that.

The new male class.. well they didn't change any dialogues, that means your avatar will hit on you and any male horny npc (and there are plenty of them) will hit on your avatar. So it isn't really an erotic-free option but more something for heterosexual women and homosexual men.

TLDR: The game is completely fine for an asian trash game and can be fun if you play it in between. Alternatively feel offended by skimpy clothes and partial nudity because the mmo world has never seen such things before...

Dammit! I fell for a necro.

So being an owner of a publishing company my self, agreeing or disagreeing with this reviewers opinion notwithstanding, it is a very biased and subjective review, I personally would of never published this review as it is an embarrassment.

Giving an objective review with the individuals subjective thoughts as a side note or stated clearly as such would of been more appropriate. I shall link this, though this post is quite necro, in hopes that if not the OP someone may actually learn something.

The review is definitely on the prudish and holier than thou side.  I have no interest in the game, but I'm not really in their target audience.

I'm surprised the game got such a high score.  Next review should be about sex in Second Life.  This article did get a lot of responses,  I guess sex sells.

I think what this review proves is how much men can't tolerate strong powerful females with strong sexual identities.  My brother is a dialysis patient on a kidney transplant list.  We spend a lot of time in dialysis clinics and transplant centers every year.  At these places I have meet many single female and lesbian gamers. What do they have in common, they love Scarlet Blade.

When I ask these women why thy enjoy the game they say :  bug free, easy to understand, easy to play, and looks beautiful.  Basically every item the male review nocks, women feel is a positive.  I'm surprised this game isn't held up as and example of how to write games for females.  From what I have read, males that can't stand SB; have trouble with gender locked games, or have problems with strong women with solid sexual identity.

    Pardon any spelling errors

As if it could exist, without being payed for.
F2P means you get what you paid for. Pay nothing, get nothing.
    Even telemarketers wouldn't think that.
It costs money to play.  Therefore P2W.

There isn't a stick in the world big enough to beat this logic into the head of most game devs.

There's no necro in-game, though it doesn't hold back this thread to get necro'ed all the time... Seriously, it's one of the top candidate for "The most necro'ed thread of mmorpg.com" image

True, interpretation is up to each player individually, but they're on the wrong track with this. Which doesn't mean they can't see those things in SB, or can't love the game for it. Just it's like praising the Playfulboy (no free advertising image) magazine for presenting almost exclusively women.

See, the books (and then the manga and anime) on which SB is loosely based on, are clearly seinen (-> target audience is guys), self-proclaimed even. Hence the steamy content, the boobs, the sexual jokes and references, etc. Which is not a negative thing, just a fact. Personally I don't mind it. There are plenty of dumb things over there, the other side of the Atlantic, but maybe this is the dumbest... "gallons of blood, knee-deep in groins and entrails, walls covered in guts - well done sport, you've done well! I think we can give this a PG13.... Wait, what was that in the corner? a flash of a... boob? Oh, the horror, where's the highest rating stamp, or wait, even better, let's ban this crap from the market, save our kids from this evil"  Lol.

I think I wrote earlier somewhere in the thread (before the necro attempts), SB's problem is not the cleavages or the funny lines with double meaning or the visuals... it's more like what you mentioned in the second part: it's dime-a-dozen. Actually it's so painfully average it's almost hurt. At least imo... Only the lore and visuals pulled it up to the barely enjoyable level for me: it's auto-questing, auto-pathing, auto-combat, auto-everything.

Again, just imo, I'm pretty sure there's a target audience for that, since there's more and more games arriving with that mindset, HiveLeader made a great piece of video not long ago, a funny piece, about OnePiece :) with an awesome smirk in the video: what's the difference between lvl1 and lvl7 in OnePiece Online? 6 clicks on the mouse image
