yet the devs have said the reason they pushed it back is largely due to player feedback in beta.
oh and look for EQnext to be on ps4 as well, guess they don't know what their target audience is either lol
mmo's on the new consoles is the future, especially since current mmo players only like to bitch about mmo's and not actually play them.
most of the complaining that goes on is based on speculation anyways, i am sure they don't listen to you guys and are more willing to listen to the people actually playing their game in beta.

Though it's plausible that it was pushed back because of these new consoles I think it's MORE plausible that it was feedback from beta.
Companies realize more and more that these large projects have many hurdles getting to launch and then living past launch.
If anything, SWToR was a good lesson for developers that you can have a strong IP and still fail as far as expectations (personally I think SWToR is a fine game but I can see why it didn't make the money they wanted).
Since they originally said that the adventure zones wouldn't be ready at launch I'm thinking they are now thinking that they need to have quite a lot of content at launch. As the Bioware devs discovered; players go through content awfully fast.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

+1. I agree with everything you wrote including SWTOR, though even as a initial fan of that game I stopped at level 48 lol, it really did just feel too linear and the world too static for me with the social hub in the wrong place. Still a fine game though.

This is a pretty strong statement about a piece of digital entertainment.
What do you expect will happen to the game to the detriment of the PC implementation to make it suitable for consoles too? Will the Open World be different? The classless skill system?
Personally I will prefer to play on the console, I like laying back on a couch with a controller in hand looking at a big screen.
you do know that the couch isn't the sole territory of the console don't you?
a wireless mouse and keyboard, a 65" DLP tv and a wonderfully comfortable leather lounge with powered recline - very nice
What do you balance all those things on in your recliner? :-) lol. I'm curious because this is that route I want to take, get out of the home office and connect with the big screen TV :-).
not too complicated - contoured wireless keyboard on lap and mouse on low slung and wide chair arm for mouse (like a huge leather mouse-pad)
I had my best MMo years in FF11 which was cross platform so no problem for me at all and i dont understand why it would be a big deal....we dont even know yet if console players will have to use a Mouse and Keyboard (i admit unlikely but we just dont know yet) or can use the Gamepad.
And OP, correct me if I'm wrong. That Gamespot list you linked... all of those games are on consoles too aren't they?
The IGN "People's Choice Award" went to the Witcher 3. I guess you'll miss out on that one too because it's also "dumbed down" for the PS4 and Xbone...and oh yeah, the amazing looking Destiny? Yup, cross-platform too.
Whatever will you do when EQN is announced to be for PS4 also? The horror! You guys better get used to many, many games that used to be PC-only--including most AAA MMOs--coming to the consoles also. Your list of exclusive to PC MMO titles is about to begin shrinking.
Of course you can always dust off your old Athlon 64 computer and go play Ultima Online or Asheron's Call again... now those were real MMOs for manly men and women too.
Theres a huge difference between single player or multi player games designed for consoles and MMO's which require a PC to be at their best. There is just to many robust features that a console can never get right compared to a console.
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!
Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!
Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!
The problem with MMORPGs on consoles is that their future development is handicapped by the console's hardwares. So yeah, they might look fine now, but 5 years from now on it'll be extremely hard for them to keep up with newer MMORPGs.

Always chuckle when I read this last bit. I play a lot of PC games just like this. 55" screen, lay back using 360 controller. Really don't understand why this method is labelled a console thing exclusively. It's not

The real problem is the control system not the hardware.
As always with these silly polls the choices are skewed towards your own preference. This may have been unintentional but it happened none-the-less. It is in the wording of the questions, read them again, you are leading people like a donkey by the nose towards your personal preference.
The other major problem being that only people who give a crap vote. It is like all internet voting, if you get an option from 1-10 the people with an ulterior motive (they love or hate it) will simply vote 1 or 10 and skew the results beyond any meaningful interpretation.
Perhaps I am missing something. But I do understand that if a game is developed for a console the PC port will not be that great. But a game made for PC to be ported to a console seems like nothing really to fear apart from adjustments for the console which should leave the pc version as is?
Said it before I geuss many of the complaining folks must not have liked Oblivion or Skyrim.
Personally I find that among lots of problems TESO has console version is not one of them. I've never been interested in consoles but maybe this time I'll buy PS4 and play TESO on it because it does not seem to be an MMO anyway.
Still going to check it out regardless. Cross-platform has never turned me off in the past. If the games fun, i'll continue to play. If the game is crap - then i'll quit.

In conclusion, what a waste of time.
