I'm likely to play it barring any really good MMO's releasing before it.

Now, if they can deliver the emergent AI as proposed, then I'll be ecstatic. But I'll hold off my excitement until I see it in action.

    Very excited about EQN.

But more then that I am really excited about the genre in general. This IS a game changer no matter what people say. You can ignore the superficial stuff that people are fixating on and look at their 4 foundations and realise that they really did find the next step.

    hell yeah!:)

Cant wait to build towers and stuff:))

played minecraft, terraria, red faction series. i just love break stuff and build.

Played EQ2 too, great game but it has it issues with game engine.

Really great to see some one step up and add some think really new to mmorpg.

Though controversial, the design decisions make a lot of sense, given the current mmo climate, and how all these new mechanisms should work with each other. This feels like a logical continuation of sandbox mmos I've played but yearned for a AAA version of, so i could not be happier.

But I like the idea of a large company like SOE trying to develop a sandbox, and some of the other stuff they said sounded promising.

I'd say I'm in the same frame of mind as you.  Looking forward to something that perhaps will be new and different, and while I have misgivings about some of their design choices (and likely will complain about them further in other discussions) nothing I've seen so far is a show stoppper.

I don't get excited typically for games, but this one does excite me. It's next gen and I get to break things.

    this.

Even guild wars 2 did not excited me at all and i retired from mmo's 8 years ago and i never lasted more than 3 months. I think it's gonna be different this time.

Who wants EQN to kick butt?

I have always felt that SoE has the right ppl to bring us a great MMO and the SoE Fanfaire easily proved that.

As for the negativity, well sadly these forums are more well known for it's abundance of "Fail" threads and Doom-mongering than about constructively discussing MMO's. I now discuss EQ info at a site that will not see my posts or others swamped with cries of "Fanboy" or other bullyboy tactics.

This site is still good to gain news on future projects and updates to existing MMO's but for discussions unfortunately it's rather leaning towards the hate mob.

I'm in the 'very excited' camp, but I also have a lot of questions.
