I would have to agree with making a short vid, taking some screenshots & linking some trailers. I've done that in the past when I was participating in betas & it worked out pretty well.
Oh, and if all else fails, find a fun LS/FC to join & make some new virtual friends.
So far, even though it's beta, the people I've run into have made my social experience in this game a good one.
I agree also, but how do i recoprd the games i play? i know its stupid to ask when i have been gaming since forever,
but, i dunno how to record a game? and yes, my pc can handle it
the people i´ve meet so far, in my low lvls, and the old game low/medium lvl, are great, every single one, its an awesome community 1000000 percent agree, far better than LotrO which is ALSO a good community.
I've been using fraps for a long time now. I have the upgraded version but I think you can still record a bit of footage with the free version. Otherwise you can search the net & see if you can find some free recording software. I'm sure someone on this site can recommend something.

nice, just googled it (ofcourse) and it seems legit, but is it also legit or accpeted in the game? so to speak, like som egames dont allow for sweetfx for instance.?
linky to fraps i found, hope thats the one u mean.
Enjoy the game, if it's good and picks up steam they will catch wind. Trying to "convince" people who are not interested is a bad thing, it's like being forced on a trip you don't really want to be on. From what you've said you have already steered them wrong 3 times so I doubt they take your pandering seriously at this point in time. I have lots of friends I think would enjoy mmo's but I don't try to convert them I just enjoy the game and make new friends ingame. When people hear or see you playing the game and enjoying it they will come on there own terms and out of there own interest.

first of al, im offended, i dont steer them wrong, i cant foretell a games future, im just looking for the one!
one thing though: yes, i can find friend online. true, but i want to share my experience and sense of thrill with friends, because, in the end, thats what is all about, sharing entertainment with friend, in my eyes
edit: taht spelling, friend/friends, not gonna rectify it, enjoy.
and Daez, its about irl im talking, not Friend i find online. i soulnd like a russian dating service
how do you get through to YOUR friends, and tell them to join this world with you?
I don't, most of my friends think you can be doing and accomplishing "anything else" if you weren't playing video games.
However, since your friends are gamers I don't see why they wouldn't at least try the game since they are your friends.
Just say "look we're friends, I think this game will be to your liking, you really have nothing to lose. Worse case scenario? You hang with me during open beta for a few days and we have some fun."
or something like that.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

Common ense is a dangerous path to walk sovrath, you of all must know! but i agree, maybe i should try and appeal to common sense, though i fear it was lost long ago
Wasn't trying to offend, sorry if it come off that way but my real name is frank so. My point being you have to let them find the game themselves and if it turns out to be good and there into mmo's they most likely will here it's praises and become interested. Out of no malice you sold them on games in the past that didn't pan out, all good intentions but you know the old saying fool me once etc. If all your friends want to go out and one is not in the mood you leave them at home instead of convincing them to come along and crab up the night because they didn't want to be there, you wanted them to be there. So sure you want your friends to play the game with you but that doesn't mean your friends want to be playing the game with you.

And it's at this point that the proper response is to look them in the eye and ask "do you REALLY have something more important to do?" Keep silent (besides occasionally repeating "Really...?" and staring at them despite their protests until they agree to join you in the game.
However, since your friends are gamers I don't see why they wouldn't at least try the game since they are your friends.

My buddies would laugh out loud if I said something like this, but then again I probably need to get new buddies...
Here's how I get my friends to move to a new MMO with me. First, I buy and play the game, make sure it's worth sharing. If you make your friends play SWTOR, you're going to have a bad time and get a bad reputation. So, you play the game, and if you are having fun with it, you bring it up often in video game conversations. But, make absolutely sure that you are in fact having fun with it, and still not high on hype. Once the honeymoon phase is over, if you are still talking about it and actively playing it, your friends will probably join you. and if not, you will probably have made new friends already on the inside by now.
My friends are the exact opposite - if I'm ever going to get them to try something new, I have to initiate them into the hype and hook them during the honeymoon phase of any new game. In fact, I'd say our group's MMO career has pretty much been (unintentionally) surfing from one honeymoon high to the next. Honestly, I'm starting to think that's as legitimate a way of doing things as any with MMOs - at least we're having fun most of the time lol.
OR Option 2
Tie them to a chair and make them play. Give them food and water only when they have reached certain milestones.
I can vouch for the effectiveness of this method. Yelling helps too. Or if you want to be more subtle about it - you can go over to one of their houses, bring your PC (or hijack theirs), and if they leave the room for a bit, boot up the game and have them "chance upon" you playing the game or watching videos of it when they come back. It plants the idea in their head, like that movie Inception.
Edit: Oh, and if you can convince at least 1 friend among your group to take interest in it, especially an influential member of the group, your chances of roping others is good lol.

Hehe, this!
My friends are gamers like me and we do this all the time to one another.. Sometimes we stick together for a couple weeks, sometimes months.. We have a saying between us that goes something like : "Playing with friends is what makes games fun.. even minesweeper would be fun if we could play it together! "
Another good argument I think is that in today's market, 30$ on a game, even if it gives you only a couple weeks of fun with your friends, is a total bargain! Most single player games go for 50-60$ and they last for what ~12-15hrs? 30$, even if you leave after the free month, or even before that, is still a great value for your money!
