Can I say EQN now is all HYPE?

zwei2zwei2 Member Posts: 361

With so little solid info, readers have been commenting about the same things over and over again, haters are already bashing EQN to hell, and fanatics are making ridiculous threads and claims defending the new visions... We ALL already see what happens to all the hype from those AAA games... So, yes or no?

Isn't that is what a forum about?

They have shown some very impressive systems.

Procedural terrain with sparse voxel areas allowing characters to tunnel ... i'm a software person, and i'm impressed by just that.  I'd want to try the game out to see how well it plays.  So, i'm hyped, but EQN is not hype for me.  It has become an exciting title to look forward to (landmark too - hopefully soon).

    i'd say it was hyped?

people will play the game regardless tho, i just think alot of them where wanting everquest 1 with new graphics so their disappointed. i didn't know what to expect from this game, but from what i have seen with the layers of the world and destructible objects, and building aspects, im sure i can have fun even for a short amount of time at least so im hyped :D

Anyone who is willing to say this game is all hype on the very, very little we know has some serious spoiled brat symptoms. Period. We don't even know the core mechanics yet and people are jumping to conclusions. I for one am glad you are all upset. Suffer please.

Furthermore, I fail to see the hype. The basic components of the game were just shown for the first time. The only hype that exists was a bunch of people dreaming of their own game that they lack the talent to make.

At least EQN does show impressive stuff like this voxel tech and landmark which can gain supporters. How will this pan out to a common player still needs to be seen...

Emergent AI, voxels, Landmark. Hype did it live up to the hype? No! It went beyond!

I'm pretty skeptical about "the entire world" being "destructible".

I imagine what they mean is that there are destructible portions of the world

Hmm? So I take it as a no then? Good. Next.

Dave has already stated that there will be areas that will be locked as indestructible to prevent people from destroying them (cities, landmarks, etc)

EQN better comes up with a playable demo soon! I am eager to play EQN as it is, but it has to be good image

Players have their rights in deciding whether to play or not. I am disappointed with the new game direction too, but at the same time i am eager to play EQN as it is, thought without any solid info or gameplay, it really is just hyping...

As usual, Smed and SOE TALK a good game, but it remains to be seen if they can actually make one.  And even if they do, the chances they will ruin it after release are higher than average.

Based on SOE's track record, it is foolish to take anything but a "wait and see" attitude. With heavily tempered enthusiasm.

I'll believe all the hype and claims and whatnot when I see the final product, and not a second before.

My sentiments exactly.  EQN is about to do with MMO's that no other Game has done for the genre.

Disclaimer: This is if it works like they say, which I will remain hopeful it can.

Random Forum Poster: I want an MMO that is different, original and fun.

Me: So you want something like EQN

Them: Nah dude, I want a Holy Trinity, Tab Target combat, Instanced Raiding, and Rigid classes.

    Me: Double Facepalm.

With SOE expertise, it can live up to its own hype and expectation with no problem. The main issue is the HYPE SOE is obviously creating now.

It's not all hype. We'll see very soon how much they deliver on EQ:L this winter. The thing that I'm looking out for is not whether they deliver on all the stuff they promised, it's whether or not all that stuff is actually fun in the game. I've seen a couple games now that delivered what they promised, but it was still kind of boring.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

I'm quite pleased with what they have shown so far. Unfortunately, they didn't show enough combat for me to really have an opinion on that part. What I did see of the combat was a little boring to watch.  I very much prefer group content, here's to hoping that there is lots of required grouping!  This is a MMO after all, you should build the game to require a certain amount of social interaction.

No, this forum is about bitching, paranoid delusions, and showing the world your grandiose delusion of your self and your own importance :)

If EQN has a playable demo it will gives more breathing space for SOE and EQN. Anyway let's hope EQN can come up with more solid information, and keep up with the enthusiasm image

The solution to most problems on this forum....Also what's happening in most threads. People being opinionated, and then being dicks over their opinions.

Also I think we have some info, we just have to be sure how credible that info is and how much stock we put into it. We know what they want to do and what they're proposing, and it's pretty cool. If you've got a problem with it already you probably aren't gonna like the game, chillax, don't whinge like a flaccid anus after taco bell....And move on.

lol the diagram keep looping on not being a d*** until really not being a d***. Sorry, not going to happen in real life.

Having a problem with game = don't like a game? I will still support EQN with the current vision. But with no playable demo, solid information, everything SOE said right now is just hot exciting air.
