Take away the overstylized cartoony graphics, drop the action/LoL combat for tab-based targeting, restore the holy trilogy/quadrilogy, and get rid of the smashing your way through the world (I'm fine with destructibility of everything on the level you're at, but no, smashing through the surface of the world into a subterranean level if just dumb).. and then I would say my hype level would've increased. Oh, and skip the tiers.. bleh.. restore real vertical progression.
I was very excited and that remains so. While I now also see some severe issues, it is a daring undertaking, and that is a good thing. No matter if I end up liking the endresult, it's good a big company like SOE dares to go to make change.
(Coupled with Sony's PS4 reveal, Sony collected a lot of fav points recently.)

Voted decreased some but not due to graphics etc There are just some things making me scratch my head right now and that odd feeling because... if this game doesn't launch well it will not inspire other companies to make something "different". So I'm trying to step off the hype train unless I start seeing the things bothering me change.

Sounds to me like you don't need EQN. You already got 10000 other games that fit that description quite nicely. Lucky you.

There will be open PVP on PVP servers, for those who want it. Whoever suggested that OW PVP was going to be a part of all servers seriously lied to you in big ways lol. I'm glad EQN is going to have OWPVP, it's been seriously lacking lately in many MMOs, but no one with half a brain thinks that there is going to be forced PVP on all servers.
GW2 combat is great. Also, from what we've seen on EQN so far, it looks like it'll be that same great level of more-realistic combat that GW2 had which improved on all other MMORPGs before it, but done better. I'm excited to get my hands on it.
But ya, if you need that slower, more rigid/static combat, ARR should do you just fine. It isn't too bad of a game, and offers a lot of what some people want (vertical progression, gear treadmills, traditional combat, etc). Different strokes for different folks.
Frankly, I've been playing these "Traditional" MMOs for almost 15 years now. I guess I'm just itching for something new and different, which is why I liked GW2 a lot. It wasn't the same junk rehashed with a new skin. ARR is just too much of the same for me to personally care about it. But it's a decent game, for those who aren't bored with that kind of game.

The graphics looks fine to me outside of the lion head.. smh.

BUT 8 abilities 4 set in stone via weapon choice and only 4 class abilities just isnt what I wanted to hear. Go ahead and keep 4 weapon abilities but make sure they fit in with the class that is using it.. No melee abilities for a wand / staff for example and an element to decide what abilities are present for the weapon ( Fire Arrow , Fire Ball.ect. ). And IMO there needs to be more than 4 class abilities for even more builds.. I am thinking at least 8 - 10 class abilities AND 4 FLUFF abilities ( levitate , shapeshift , wizard eye..ect. )..
Decreased a lot.. From what I saw and heard, the game is nothing more then twitch AOE "whack a mole".. My gut tells me that game will start off with a lot of hype, but will crash to laughable numbers within a year.. The past years have been nothing more then tag "you're it" , when it comes to over hyped games.. Looks like EQN will be next to carry the torch..
I'm kinda hoping this game's technology lives up to at least minor expectations and I can consequently have a new semi-social online locale to tool about designing thinks and making stories with other people.
The extra bits like SOEmote I enjoyed tinkering with in EQ2 and hope to see it integrated more cleanly with ENQ, as It'll be fun to do recordings and captures of performances in the game for machinima and such.

Decreased significantly. I was expecting a new generation Everquest game but they showed GW2 clone where you can dig holes. Also, Disney art style was completely unexpected and that lion king kinda disgusting.
I would say my excitement would have been very increased if a release date and a few more things had been revealed.
It is higher than where I started though since the game was initially just smoke and mirrors until the reveal.
Bonus excitement points for the Landmark portion and fairly short release schedule for that.
Release is probably late 2014 early 2015. They aren't releasing landmark until december. And they are letting people use landmark to design zones. So they don't have to. So they haven't even finished designing the world

Was excited after the first day but 4 weapon + 4 class = 8 abilities and the anti-trinity attitude at the presentation killed my hype for this game.
