I like eve for the fact there really are no safe zones but you can minimize your losses.

    1. Never fly an uninsured ship

    2. Never do anything to get under the skin of others

    3. Never scam players on your main character

If you follow the basic rules and never do anything to provoke others then its very rare you will get ganked in hi sec.

In 6 years of play I have only been ganked once in hi sec but I was INSURED so no loss to me really.

If you get pod killed then you will lose your implants

Sorry sir, your backwards here, truly so.

Did i ever say you should go to the EvE-Forums to warn new players... No i said that if the current new player experience (aka introduction and tutorial) does not mention the inherent dangers of EvE it need to be changed (especially as it used to say so both on the web-page and in the NPE before) and that is best done through the proper channels.

The backwards part of your post here was that it was poorly written and did a poor job of conveying anything but bitterness and anger (no matter what you intended it to do) thus my suggestion that you next time make a guide or newbie primer instead of.. well what you did this time.

I'm afraid OP have settled on some very subjective "facts" and refuses to acknowledge more experienced and more knowledgeable peoples input.

So to those thinking about playing this game: Make your own research, facts on MMORPG Forums are rarely facts, they are more often than not subjective perceptions of a fact.

It's a perfectly valid term. It means an introduction for new players.

Just google the term or thesaurus primer.

Interesting.  A quick look back at the OPs previous posts here in the EVE-O section of this site he mentions that he has been playing EVE "off and on" for around 7 years now.  So, I'm curious OP.  Apparently the NPE wasn't so bad that you kept coming back.  What did you do differently this time that got you ganked and ticked enough to come here and rant about it?

EVE, like any other game, is for GAMERS, not for "PVP-ers" or 'PVE-ers" .Your fault for being idiots and parting a game into two sides and then decide to join one, automatically missing on a part of the content.

LOL Thank you!  Original Point proven!

PVERs STAY AWAY FROM EVE!  its a PVP game ONLY.

That's a false statement, I do plenty of PVE in EVE. The problem is, being an idiot while doing it can get you blown up. It hapened to me aswell, but I didn't come here to cry about it. It's just the way it is.

So, hehe OP - yes There is technically no safe place in Eve. However, your actions dictate if you live or die.

If you are afk mining - you deserve to die. You need to be watching who is coming near you and getting close etc. - if this is occurring you need to gtfo. Then there is the traps and gate camps in hi sec. Avoid doing anything that would be illegal and you are fine.

Double wrap stuff and dont move stuff in weak ships that can get sniped. If you are hauling 1 bil isk in a Iteron -guess what, the ROI on me killing you in a tornado and dying to Concorde is worth it. 150 mil versus 1 bil....You take away that temptation and you are fine. Ive been playing eve since Beta and never once got hi sec ganked.

Orcas are now scan resistant plus yuo can double wrap - convo me in game one time if you dont know what this is. In addition - red frog is there to cheaply move assets from one location to another.

No need to move plex - for those who do get a clue.

If you think you are safe in a cloaky ship you are not. A lot of people can decloak you, tackle you, and kill you right off a gate and you wont know wtf happened.

Finally there is absolutely no freakin reason for crap like pimping out a Mission ship in Null sec. You are pretty much sealing your fate. a 2 bil Raven navy issue is income to folks like me when we kill it. You may feel its griefing.

Same thing in Hi sec - except you need to be more cautious. Dont join fleets with others you dont know, use scouts to move from one location to another, etc etc. Many thing to protect yourself.

    Dont be a sheep...

I'm not "crying" I'm telling people who are thinking of playing the game the truth!  Sure you can PVE in EVE, and you can also be cannon fodder for players like  you!  You just proved it with your comment about "Miner's tears".  You just said it and proved what my original point was all about.   As as you said, "its just the way it is" I totally agree with you.  Yep, PVEers are cannon fodder.  I am actually beginning to think that CCP and vet stans are actually coming here to trick people into thinking the game has a cool PVE side when they really just want more target practice!  LOL!

What does ganked at a gate have to do with competency?  If you in .9 space mining someone can come along and suicide gank you.  What exactly are you suppose to do about that?  HUH?  Your not making any sense.  Every friend in the game has been ganked in high sec, and High sec is where most PVE takes place.  How does that make for a PVE game?  It makes for a hellava PVP game tho, hence EVEs reputation in that regard.  I'm not telling ppl not to play EVE, I'm warning new players that the game is PVP to the bone, no matter how many BS pve missions and  new player Experiences and marketing ploys they put out there.  CCP wanted to capture the lucrative "casual" market = New Player Experience.   How is that NOT the truth??

In fact it is so brutal that most quit within a week, but at the same time once you get to grips with it and make some friends it is very rewarding.

But it is not for people who are not in to PvP.

I highlighted the point I'm addressing.  In my original post I said exactly that.  It's a game for STRICTLY PVPers.  I am in total agreement with you.  If one prefers PVE (Mining/Industry/Missions)  EVE IS NOT FOR THEM because a PVPer can come and take it from you AT ANY TIME and ANY WHERE.  PVE in the game is completely pointless as is the Bounty system.

    Hi broomy.

On average, people who mine or do missions make more ISk than they lose (obviously, or they wouldn't do it). In fact I run missions myself to make my ISK, plus I have done some mining in 0.0, sometimes a very little bit of trading, and over the nearly 7 years I've been playing EVE I have been suicide ganked in hi-sec a grand total of

    ZERO

    times.

I assure you that this is not because hi-sec gankers are so terrified by my fearsome reputation as a murderous PvPer that they are afraid to even target my alts.

Why do you think the reason is?

Just a word of warning to the newbies...there are NO SAFE PLACES in EVE.  High sec is a lie, you can get ganked anywhere, there are pirates with multiple accounts that can gank you, get blown up by Concord and have one of their many alts loot your wreck.  Some jerk could place a bounty on you just for saying something in a chat room that he doesn't like.

Yep there is no SAFE Security :) except when starting the very first system is bannable if people grief new players, and yes ive seen players banned for doing just that

If you have 750m bounty on your head, why oh why are you not popping your own ass with your alt to collect lol :)

    EDIT

For newer players there are ways to stop any form of ganking, just a bit of caution, for instance mining, If someone warps close to you and just sits there, be cautious, if you see a fleet of ship just abot to land already start warping out

If you really paranoid then using an alt to get concord to personally guard you in the belt your mining will put of most of the gankers (all bar the VERY persistent) - if you wish to know how to do this  - Simple, just create dud alt on new account, shoot your hulk in a n00b ship, concord warp in and kill the n--b bingo you have now got a concord guard- This guard will last until they are summoned in that systee again

Ive been in game 7years and only time i got ganked was as a n00b and ive mined with multiple (11) accounts in a 0.5 with no drones

This post is all my opinion, but I welcome debate on anything i have put, however, personal slander / name calling belongs in game where of course you're welcome to call me names im often found lounging about in EvE online.

Very happy to see that they reopened the thread, I have no idea why it was closed in the first place.  Someone here probably reported it because they didn't like that the truth was being told.

    And BTW, TY  Konfess:

The truth is not tolerated on this site, either by "fans", moderators, or advertisers.  Present fact, and you get labeled a whiner or a troll.

Those who reported the OP only proved his point.  They took out a bounty on him here as well.  And the mod collected on that bounty.

^^That's it in a nutshell as I have learned here in this most recent thread.

BTW to the person that brought up the question of my gender in another thread:

    http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/5903211#5903211

I ask, what on EARTH does my gender have to do with anything?  Please come back and explain.  Also explain your resurrection of something I said about MMO players POLICING others or wanting to.  I see no relevance to that post and this current one.Sure one can always walk away if something doesn't work for them...but what does this thread have to do with that topic?  Of course ppl are walking away or avoiding EVE like any other game, if they so choose.  What relevance does that have to do with this thread?

Also Bounties have changed in EVE and are totally meaningless.  In fact in my corp they place bounties as a JOKE on each other.    But feel free to place your bounties here, it wont silence me.

    Cheers!

    Current Games: WOW, EVE Online
