Just finished with a gaming marathon.. Started at 2pm my time and finished 6am, got a fair chunk of progress across my main characters as well as crafters.
No problems logging in whatsoever, but then I kept the character I made in the JP server group. No queuing problem there so far, no matter the time of day I try. Looks like most of the problem is at the NA/EU servers
