Perhaps people were upset about the launch, or maybe they just didn't like the game. But it doesn't make sense for a game that was an 8.26 get bumped all the way down to a 6.2. That's just messed up to tell you the truth.
The game is solid guys, VOTE IT UP!
lol, does the meter make the game worst or better all by itself? I will never understand why people look at a meter so seriously. I am enjoying FF14 up to now, my only complaint is that the servers are full without any queue time. Beside that I got nothing bad to say about it up to now. Almost got to level 3.

^That matters SO little.
I really am tired of hearing this comment. A game doesn't have to do everything different or new to TO BE ENJOYABLE!
I am not a Final Fantasy fan.
I am tired of hearing that shortsighted reasoning.
Nor does it refine the experience to a high standard either.. I completely agree that it doesn't have to be new to be enjoyable but my point is that the game isn't going to be scoring 8+ in many reviews.
Early days yet though and I think I've yet to see the 'meat and potatoes' of the game. but so far I'd say that's a fair score and I haven't experienced any server problems. It's ok but it's nothing earth shattering. Pretty much the same recycled features we're all seen before a quintillion times mixed together in an FF package, bit of everquest here, bit of Rift there, you know the drill. Any new game can charm the masses but as we know the real test is always longevity.

This website is far from unbiased, look at EQNext being the most hyped game and won MMORPG best in show at E3 when it showed NOTHING.
They can hype their 7 button MOBA 1 mold build fits all game, the truth is in the pudding and I've never been apart of a world that feels so alive and has the players around to support it.
It's all about $ and GW2, EQNext, heck even SWTOR gets more love from this website.
But meh, time will tell and this websites reputation will continue to go to that of a turd.
Look at that, its already went up to 6.4. A post like this will let people know to go over and start rating this game up. Its not hype anymore, its regular ratings now so only 329 people voted so far.
yeah I agree with last poster, EQ NEXT is so overhyped they don't realize that FFXIV is a game that actually delivers on its hype as far as in game fun goes. This game will be with me for the whole next year atleast, I wont even be bothering with EQ NEXT, while this is around.
Its also probably not a supprise that all the massive, gamer grass roots websites all picked FFXIV as the best game of the year and sites that are paid are saying opposite.
But. . . but what about Dragon Nest 2.0, Blade and Soul 2.0, and WoW 12.6.7.8.9?
You would imagine a key factor of an MMORPG would be allowing people to play with their friends. If a game is designed in such a way that prevents that. . . well I wouldn't expect good review.
Everything should have been re-set from zero. The old game has been shut down. It's not like this is a patch. It's a completely new game.
Seems like MMORPG.com is just being lazy by not creating a new portal for the new launch. Nothing is to be gained by keeping the old 1.0 game mixed with the new 2.0 game.
I gave it a shot, but the "Knights Online" from 2004 feel put me off of it. I played through the initial few hours of the game and it was "ok"... but as soon as I went outside and saw the static mobs standing around waiting to be slaughtered I lost interest completely.
There is no room for an MMO to have static mobs anymore it is silly and generic... it is too late to change, this is a rehash of old generic mmo's. I cannot wait for an FF that is innovative, I have no doubt that the teams can deliver, all it takes is one game to shift the mentality.

with 347 votes, were now up to 6.6 rating in just a matter of four hours. This thread must have gotten out the vote. lol
so silly to rate a game based on a couple days of game play im not saying the game is great but when u are actually playing it and not waiting in a queue or getting world full its entertaining.
The game is new, and every mmo has issues post launch. Most get cleared up within a few weeks. Remember lots of people have put down money/received early access and may not be playing past the 29th. Throwing a bunch of servers generally isn't the best idea. You all seen how that works out.
I think this game will do well and I like the game. The tab targeting could use some work, as well as trying to click people/mobs, but otherwise it has potential.
Give them a tad bit of time and then do a new review if you want a fair one.

Go to character settings and customize your targeting filters. You can setup 4 custom filters that will target whatever you want. You can have a NPC only, Enemy Only, NPC+Party Members etc. you get the idea. You can quick switch these targeting filters at any time, it's pretty genius actually.
This game has probably the most detailed configuration options of any MMO out there.

The car runs fine, it just only has two seats and there are five people trying to get in it.

No offense to anyone.
Once the hitchhikers are gone (Early Access rip-off artist / pre-order cancelers), the car will be fit comfortably.
