Well, I did get in at 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning and stayed logged in until last night when I tried relogging to try to fix a no-sound problem. And of course I couldn't log back in. I just laughed at that point.

I find it unacceptable that during prime time the servers are down for Maintenance. I don't give a damn if it's a Japanense game, i paid american dollars to play this game on american severs, not japanese. For both latency etc..
Nonetheless this is the most inconvenient time for people who paid american dollars to play a game in America. You can't even mention anything negative on the official forums without the fanboy brigade denouncing it's a JAPANESE GAME.. So where on the box did it say, be aware this is a Japanese game?

If you think about the game as a 24/7 server .. when is it not prime time? For those on the east coast that could be 3pm on the west coast .. maybe you work evenings so your time to play is 11 pm to 3 am ...
thin is when you have a game running 24/7 and everyone working different times and in different time zones .. it will be prime time somewhere to someone ... personaly I just want them to fix the issues so i can play with my guild and enjoy the time I can give to it.
I do find it rather odd that they're fixing the NA/EU datacenters, which one might assume are IN the NA or EU, to be happening on Japan time. I guess the work is being managed from Japan.

I would like for ALL players to actually PLAY. I would like to be able to log off and know I can frickin' get back in next time I wanna play. So, the maint, whatever it might be, is a necessary thing. Nobody should be upset about this absolutely necessary thing...but of course...someone has to rage...

Not a fan of the time their doing bit either but if it fixes the issues for the long term I can manage a few hours that I probably wouldn't have been able to get on for anyway. Just hoping that it actually gets fixed on the first try. I have a feeling something will go wrong and it will still be broken
Lol after playing SWTOR since release and seeing how bad the Australians got it with servers fairly often down twice a week slap bang in the middle of their prime time and how people on the official forums were like "the highest amount of people play in American prime time, deal with it" I find posts like this hilarious. Most updates like these run companies 24 hours... That normally goes through 2 prime times, who the fuck cares. If your life revolves around a game so much that it going down for a much needed maintenance during your play time is enough to make a most about it and complain about, then you need to unplug for a bit.

That's what I suspect is the work is being done in Japan. These worlds are made of several servers and I imagine they have to apply the patches to the Japanese servers at the same time as well to keep them all uniform, so I would suspect each patch will occur around that time.
How about people who paid American dollars but have to attempt to log-in the game during Japanese hours to even have a remote chance to get in and play?
They can take as much time as they want and start when they want. Just fix this damn thing because I have a mean case of game induced jet lag. My hours are all screwed up.

However, NOT providing adequate servers within the FIRST 48 hours of this issue is UNREASONABLE.
Sorry guys but adding servers to a server farm is not the difficult time consuming issue it was at one time.
And you can not convince me that ANY AAA MMO would EVER launch without a few spare emergency server blades laying around just in case. Even if, having blades shipped over night is not an unreasonable expectation of service.
This is an issue that even TERA had, and fixed within TWO HOURS of launch, by simply slipping in a few extra server blades.
RIFT same issue fixed within ONE HOUR of launch. Neverwinter 48 hours of launch. Defiance 12 hours of launch.
This is an issue that should have been easily addresses a week ago.

On the fact that the servers are down during peak times....It's not peak times in Japan....get over it!
Even if the game servers are in region (which I think they are) I am pretty sure the login servers are global since you can see both regions from them and when the Japan region was reporting down it would cause a delay for loading the NA/EU region. That tells me they are tied together and so need to be updated at the same time to work right.
There is no best time to take the entire game down so SE has to choose what disrupts the business the least. I don't know what ever made you think you where playing a game made primarily for the western market. It was pretty obvious from the first loading screen (really from the account management page) that this is a Asia focused game that has been ported to the western markets.

I think it will help but I would not be surprised at all if their continues to be issues even after this patch at least for a couple more weeks until the population starts to drop off. Of course if they don't make it at least tolerable soon I think the whole issue will solve itself just from a lot of people giving up on the game.
I agree with you and posted this concern on the official forums, only to have white knights sucking on SE's dick take over the post. This is ridiculous and shows how bigoted a company SE is, they only care about their Japanese audience even though they probably make more money from the USA population. Luckily I was able to get a refund from Amazon, so it's not a total loss.

Yeah I agree it sucks, but I want this game to work, and if that means some maintenance here and there so be it.
