I cannot believe that people have been trained to think that this is the only option... oh how I wish that games went with the Asheron's Call model instead of the crappy daoc/wow model...

I bought the game on August 27th. So in 18 days of fairly casual play ( Not only did I not play every day but only for a few hours on the days I did play) I not only got to max level with one character, but leveled several others.

Main Char, Bard/archer 50, 15 Conj, 12 Lancer. Finished main story line.

Second Char, Paladin 26, 15 Conj, 26 Gladiator. Through main story far enough to get my mount.

Tried fishing and mining but only a few lvls of each. Crafting is more or less useless in the game as almost 99.99999% of loot is better than what you can make. Just like any MMO that ropes people into buying it for the crafting.

I tried the game and have no plans to play and further. Its ok guys. Apparently according to you fan guys, It will be a raging success without me and remain pay to play for the next century or two so. Go enjoy the game and stop posting?

Not every RPG has repeatable content (usually with currency tokens) to acquire tiered gear that is superseded by the next gear tier.

Grind and gear treadmill aren't the same either and are a lot more obvious how they don't relate. Gear treadmills require grind, but not all grind is a gear treadmill. When you get to the "end" of the gear treadmill grind (current gear tier), then it resets that grind for a new gear grind, hence the treadmill.

This shouldn't be new information for anyone in this thread. Why would some posters here spin it any other way?

Because they have to in order to defend XIV from any form of criticism, and the favored method of doing that is to deliberately take any criticism or complaint and spin it completely out of context in order to try and put it back on the poster.

This thread so far has been a textbook example of it.
