sorry but no u got banned for cheating thats it stop cheating.. lol. thats what im talking about. misinformed people posting what they know nothing about.

I love how some gamers are so quick to believe other gamers with only one side of the story.
@op: You don't know why you were flagged. call customer service and hash it out with them.
And don't harass the person on the other side. Don't yell at them or go on a tirade, or anything else a "disgruntled customer" might do.
I've had a lifetime of dealing with customer service on both sides of the desk and I can assure you that being polite, stating your case clearly, will get you more results that are favorable.
If something goes wrong and they don't decide in your favor you thank them for their help, empathize with their position but point out that there is clearly something amiss in their decision making process. You then ask for the contact info for the customer service manager because, though your account wasn't able to be salvaged you feel it's important for them to know that there is an error in their process.
You then actually write that person (e-mail, whatever) and explain the situation from the standpoint of someone not trying to get their account back but explaining to them of the error and that this feedback is important for them to hone their systems. All the time being polite yet straightforward.
You'll be surprised at how many times a decision in your favor can happen because you went the extra mile.
And if you don't get anything else then cut your losses and move on.
AND if you were actually cheating then and you are just creating drama then "good".
Awesome advice, seriously, do what this guy said! If you are truly innocent then you will get you account back up and running!

Well If your account is hacked its your fail. Lack of security in your PC.
well as i stated in my other post when i was hacked i said it was my fault. i should have had a token. se reported that "other companies" had their info leaked and if u used the same log in info u could b hacked. when i called se the guy said something has happened to have thousands of people banned in a few days. se said "other companies". i think they were and just dont want to admit it. either way it was my fault for not having a token. i replied to the OP to let him know that his account will b fine not so u can flame someone for trying to help.
No. The guy at SE support was right.
Some game forum or other service was hacked. It happends every day that databases of forums and other services are dumped. Decrypting passwords are easy cos of obsolete MD5. Then every email registered on hacked forum or service is tested against popular MMOs (WoW, FF, etc) and paypal or other payment processors.

the guy at SE hinted that something was wrong at SE. we were talking about different experiences with WoW and he started to say he heard something had happened and memo's went out to certain SE employees. but he stopped. he realized he was saying more than he should. lol

I worked in IT, I can tell you that 9 out of 10 times its the end users fault they were hacked or compromised the intranet. People need to start taking their account security serious and realize that 99% of that lays in their own hands. Open an email account you use for nothing but the MMO you are playing. Use unique passwords that have nothing to do with who you are or the hobbies you do.

I missed 5 days of progression and sales so far, particularly on a big weekend when I would have advanced to selling 2 star items. Even when they finish their investigation, they're not going to pay me back what I've potentially lost in this early, critical time period.
Taking things seriously is good. I'd imagine taking this seriously would include preparing for such a contingency as this and having the software framework intact to know if they have to suspend people BEFORE they suspend people. They didn't, and that means they are inept.
One issue you might have is a false sense of urgency which the folks at SE aren't sharing.
This is a game, there is nothing critical about it, you are not running a race, being PVE centric there really isn't anything to "win" here, hence there's no urgency outside of what you are setting for yourself.
You can play this game a week, a month, a year later from now, and it should be equally enjoyable. Perhaps this delay is defeating some sort of early marketing strategy you had in mind, but if you're smart you'll figure out other ways to profit and thrive, no matter when you join in the game.

I WORK in the IT field and have so for over 20 years and many MANY things are usually the end-users fault but to make end users the blame for things that hackers do is just erroneous thinking. People may not be as secure as they should by using repeat passwords and usernames but it is in FACT the hackers fault. I would also lay the blame on many companies for not securing our information properly. SE clearly has had some sort of attack due to the NUMEROUS bans that have been reverted. I have come across so many AAA game creators that have had shoddy at best security. This is far from being a fault of the end user.

Sure hackers are the bad guy first but in the end the users need to know the problem and needs to take action and if they dont they should not cry to companies like SE because the user used the same email and password everywhere. Thats like saying sick people are the bad guys, they go out in the world and infect people who are well. People not sick should not have to use hand sanitizers. The world we live in is what it is. Removing the responsibility of the user that takes no action is as bad as the hacker itself. If your to lazy to take action you have no reason to cry about it.

Trolls...
On another note, resubs are coming up soon. Suspended accounts aren't allowed to change their sub options, but I got an email a couple days ago saying my trial period was about up.
So, right now I can't change my account info, remove my pay info or cancel. I think I'll call my bank today and explain this situation.
Yeah, you do that. Don't cheat next time.
Puts a whole new angle on your posts about the auto bans to stop gil RMT.
Good catch. Your post made me go back and check out that thread.
"You don't know what you're talking about. Cyan is on my server and not only a dedicated crafter, she is very smart and efficient in the method she has used to level and make sales. She earned most of that fortune hitting up early 50 adventurers for 100k for their artifact weapons. Inflated? a little, but smart. Those people had accumulated money by questing, selling stuff and forming fates. They easily had 100k each to drop being one of the first few to finish that quest."
So there are atleast two MMORPG.com posters who know each other ingame and have large amounts of money and are under investigation. They seem to be on a crusade that they are innocent and SE is evil. Hes already posted on this so why another one......?
Ya im going to go out on a limb and say you guys were earning large amounts of Gil thru RMT buyers but I have a hunch it was from gathering either thru botting or an outside macro program......
Ive played alot of mmos and for some reason people think useing an outside program to run macros is legit. Ive seen someone who got banned from using a keyboard that was made to run macros. His defense was its legit because you buy it like that. But if they say no outside programs even the ones that come with your mouse or keyboard its against the TOS, if the devs think its cheating (IMO I think all Macros are cheating, but i am a minority on this).
I'm still trying to figure out how someone who apparently is smart enough to do very well economically in the game is at all surprised at the reaction he has received here. The overwhelming number of people who post on forums to complain about getting banned from some game or other usually end up being guilty, and at best, give a highly disingenuous one sided account of what happened. You may be one of the exceptions, but I don't think I or anyone else here owes you an apology for not instantly taking your story at face value.
The only thing these threads end up being good for is an excuse for people to bash the game company. In this case, bashing SE for doing something people have continually been asking them to do, i.e. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE BLOODY GIL SELLERS! Again, I'm assuming you are a relatively intellegent individual, so I'm guessing this isn't a surprise to you. You have thrown the term "troll" around several times on this thread, but frankly, I would look at yourself in the mirror.

Hope you realize, that's like being surprised the same 2 fisherman read the same fishing magazine, or two under-sexed, overweight divorced women watch oprah. This is a gaming community. Some of us are gamers. Some here are barely that from the most liberal definition.
Anyway, if I don't get my account back complete with all my money and items from before this suspension began, I'm done with this game. There's no reason to work for something if it can just be taken away like this.

Dude if you are legit, you will be exonerated and nothing untoward will happen to your account, other than this unwanted pause. If not, well then you get what you deserve. Also as a favor, would you please make a follow up post if you do or do not get your account back? Curious is all.
If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

I'm not surprised by the "you did it and you know it hurrrr heehaw" trollings. I can just as easily tell those detractors, "oh you think I'm guilty, I think you're an SE stooge", but I don't do that because that nonsense would take away from my legitimate story. I'd actually like SE to resolve the issue and send me SOMETHING via email so I can conclude this. I've already decided I won't be re-subscribing.
At first I was really angry, now that's worn off but I'd still like resolution.

If your gil has come from ill gotten means you will not have a case to cry. SE taking action is better then things being left bloated and the average player cant buy a stack of fleece because of it. People got rich with money that should not have been in the game. This needs to be adjusted or the game will not be worth playing. Better broken for a few then the majority.

I'd actually like SE to resolve the issue and send me SOMETHING via email so I can conclude this. I've already decided I won't be re-subscribing.
At first I was really angry, now that's worn off but I'd still like resolution.
Then you are here for? Bashing or are you trying to troll? Stop posting here, call SE and get your money back and go find a new MMO =-)
OP....I logged in to say I feel for ya for this incident and for having to put up with all of these forum warriors/trolls. I read mmorpg.com but don't post much for this very reason.
The worst experience I ever had with Customer Service was with Darkfall. I lost my password and I went back and forth with customer service 100 times and all I wanted to do was cancel my account. I provided them tons and tons of information and then they wanted a copy of my electric bill or something absurd like that. I ended up canceling the card they were withdrawing from and reissuing with a new number. I could of provided them the electric bill but at the end of the day I was angry and fed up with dealing with them.
Other than MMO's the only other equivelant poor customer service I have received in my life is at airports. <shake head> Airports and MMO's man.
Baseless accusation about others being jealous and they reported the OP

Conclusion: Don't bott kids.
The problem that people fail to understand.
1. The Company has an EULA/TOS, however you could always try to sue them for health/addiction issues unless it has a disclaimer in the TOS/Warning on the box itself.
2. The company Square Enix, and any others that suspend you're account never actually tell you why you are banned they either unban you, let you off with a warning, or leave the account banned they never actually tell you why you were banned other than something very generic like you Real Money Trade, Used a Hack, or a Bot that is all.
Some Companies are stupid to the point where a person named (ASDAKSDADLQW) for example is a gold seller, but he does a trade with someone else who then buys goods from another person, or a person who accepts the trade from someone like this which is a gold seller or person that they really bought money from so they suspend them.
But Square Enix has no proof at all that this (X) Person bought the Real Money at all all they know is the person done a trade with another person assuming that they both stick an item in the trade window its a legit trade.
So Square Enix "STF" Special Task Force is a joke all they look at when it comes to RMT is a transaction log and make their decision from there, not only this but as far as "botting goes" You can bot any game almost as long as you are there at the keyboard and as long as you program it correctly and respond to any GM they won't ban you, this also goes for logging in from multiple IP addresses if you use a VPS server and share you're account with 15+ friends from the world they would never be able to prove anything.
Not telling anyone to break the Game Rules, or Cheat, but these are just the hard facts I have seen after playing RPG's for many years and seeing how GM's deal with things. I still remember the time that Square Enix banned my Aion Account for 7 days because they said I commit a "RMT" when the game was still in pay 2 play because I sold some items to some people which the cost was pretty high, " I Quit Aion" Because of this, and now they are F2P and likely don't care anymore anyways about RMT.
Oh and when it comes down to Real Money Trading, You have to use common sense in any game you play, You never talk about it in game at all, Anyone asks about it you put them on ignore don't speak about it, and by common sense I mean things like accepting trades from a gold spammer you bought currency from any gold selling company on the internet will never use the same IP address as their gold spamming bots, and any good company at all like the ones I know who do RMT from multiple games will Never Spam in game you don't use common sense then you can expect to get the ban hammer.
Anyway, if I don't get my account back complete with all my money and items from before this suspension began, I'm done with this game. There's no reason to work for something if it can just be taken away like this.
same thing happen to me i am done with the game now they can go investergate all they like dont like being called a liar been playing mmos for years this game has the worst customer support ive ever seen.
Well , see , that fleece comment shows you are clueless on the issue.
Hey that reminds me, If I start a business selling stuff to counterfeiters, will my store get investigated and all my money be taken if all of it in the register is counterfeit and all of it in my safe in the back is counterfeit? I think so.
If level 50s are buying gil from gil sellers to buy from you and you obtain 90% of your wealth and resources from tainted revenue you can best believe you ain't coming back. Sorry to say.

Fleece is just one of many items that are inflated and the market keeps thats price inflated because there is more gil in the game then there should be. Almost 400 Mill is being removed from the game, my bet is by the time SE gets this fixed it will sell for less then 1/2 of what it is now.

lol. thats what im talking about. misinformed people posting what they know nothing about.
Awesome advice, seriously, do what this guy said! If you are truly innocent then you will get you account back up and running!
Never ever use same password.
Well If your account is hacked its your fail. Lack of security in your PC.
well as i stated in my other post when i was hacked i said it was my fault. i should have had a token. se reported that "other companies" had their info leaked and if u used the same log in info u could b hacked. when i called se the guy said something has happened to have thousands of people banned in a few days. se said "other companies". i think they were and just dont want to admit it. either way it was my fault for not having a token. i replied to the OP to let him know that his account will b fine not so u can flame someone for trying to help.

the guy at SE hinted that something was wrong at SE. we were talking about different experiences with WoW and he started to say he heard something had happened and memo's went out to certain SE employees. but he stopped. he realized he was saying more than he should. lol
I worked in IT, I can tell you that 9 out of 10 times its the end users fault they were hacked or compromised the intranet. People need to start taking their account security serious and realize that 99% of that lays in their own hands. Open an email account you use for nothing but the MMO you are playing. Use unique passwords that have nothing to do with who you are or the hobbies you do.

like i have stated several times before, i know it was my fault i was hacked. i never ever stated otherwise.

Sure.. i trust you random stranger on the internet... Do you by any chance have some moon-estates to sell too.
This have been a good conversation
Dude if you are legit, you will be exonerated and nothing untoward will happen to your account, other than this unwanted pause. If not, well then you get what you deserve. Also as a favor, would you please make a follow up post if you do or do not get your account back? Curious is all.
