Kind of disappointed by the cross-class ability system

No offense but the system was laid out for you before you even bought the game.

Nothing even hinted at the cross-class system being anything like you describe.   I really feel like you need to read up about something before you buy it and not give into your own delusions of what the systems contains.

Not trying to offend you using the word delusion, but that is what you based the system on.  You came up with your own idea of what the cross-class system included with out researching it.  Or if you did research it you were blinded by your own idea of the class system and didn't take in the information that was present.

While i do like the fact that there is cross class in FFXIV, i realised that Runes of Magic did a much much better job with their cross class system even without job builds.

With that said, i hope SE improve the system and increase the amount of skills you can get from 2 or more crossed classes. AND more skills unique to each job, not just some mixed skills from the sub classes.

While I am greatly enjoying this game, I do have to agree with you OP. I first leveled a SMN to 50 without giving the cross-abilities too much thought. But now, I decided I wanted to tank as a MRD, and was sad to see that in order to have some of the essential tanking skills, like Flash and Provoke, I needed to level GLD into the 20s. It's like you said, you are basically taking skills from other classes in order to make your current class what its supposed to be like anyway. That being said, I do enjoy this game and I am looking forward to future classes! Hopefully Blue Mage :P
