I'm more curious if they can pull off action combat within a large scale raiding environment.  I don't believe it's been done yet to this extent.

I'm not sure it translate well into hours and hours of trial and error wipe after wipe.  I could see it becoming extremely exhausting and turning raiders off.  Or it could be the greatest thing ever.

It has been proven time and time again that WoW clones don't work long term. Good for 3-6 months and then your stuck being bored waiting for the next park ride.

Will it work?  Well pretty much what the game offers has already been done before, so I guess the answer is "kinda?".   Some people will eat all the stuff up the game has to offer, but I'm afraid for those of us who are tired of the usual themepark format will mostly skip it.  To include the sub fee unless they want to be innovative with that and not go the money grabbing route of $15 a month USD.

I can't wait for this game.  I check my email for a beta invite all the time.  I've watched every single official video multiple times.  To say I am excited is a huge understatement.

I really don't get the WoW clone accusations.  Every MMO that has ever existed has similarities with each other to some extent don't they?  It just seems so strange to me.  It would be like people complaining that shooter games all use the first person perspective.  That's the genre.  There will be shared features.

I personally cant wait to play it. honestly if you dont find wildstar at least a tad interesting, maybe youve just outgrown mmo's. Sure its a lot of the same. But its how you go about it that counts. and the combat is clicking with me.

"WildStar changes this by using an active combat system, with targeted abilities that can be (mostly) cast while moving. It’s not the first MMO to try this – both TERA and Guild Wars 2 have tried something similar."

    this is untrue.

there were games that use n tried this years ago. way before tera or gw2

    xsample  "knights online"

were players would just slide by n use melee skills / run backwards while casting aoe spell

back then this was successful and one of the uniqueness of this game
