I like the interdependence and that together we can explore the world or beat a big baddy in an area. This isn't so much the case any more. It's all about playing solo 90% of the time and meeting the rudest, nastiest people I've ever met. So many people are jaded and forget to simply be nice to someone else because yes, there is a real person behind the avatar.
This sounds like all those who want interdependence should quit the genre, and let the solo-ers enjoy in peace.
Or developers could make worlds again wich defined the genre in the first place and stop making mere games for soloists.
Only if you have control over the devs. My solution only assume you can control your own action. Heck, you can't even control what i do. How do you propose to change what devs are doing?
Let me know when devs are going to stop making solo-friendly games, so i can quit and let you play in peace.
They already have stopped. What "new' solo friendly multiplayer games are you playing?
Anyway, hate to see ya quit, but if ya gotta go, ya gotta go.

Wrong website OP. Lots of people here don't actually like MMOs. Personally I like the humour in MMOs (both intentional and uninentional) I like the team work and I like exploring a virtual world in a fantastic setting. There is alot of fun to be had in MMOs if you go in with more of an open mind and try to find it.
But most people treat MMOs the way a lonely woman treats men. This guy is too tall - that guy was too poor - this guy wasn't funny, that guy is Korean etc etc. Women like this will frequently tell you that all men are 'crap." They have so many reasons to hate and pretend their impossible demands are reasonable. Why can't a man look like a young Charlie Sheen but be a Doctor.
People like me treat em like closer to how a guy treats a woman - they almost all have their upsides. Some are pretty to look at. Some play nice. Others are a useful distraction. They might be 'all the same' in a way but sometimes new is good too. :P
Go in with a hateful attitude and you will have bad experience. But if you play an MMO looking for fun sometimes you can really be surprised. Video game developers as it turns out are generally very intelligent human beings..

But developers aren't in this relationship. It's just you and whatever you need to tell yourself.
You are a sucker, not a wise man who has figured it all out. Paying to cheat or playing with cheaters.

Diablo 3, GW2, Marvel Heroes, STO? Don't tell me you don't know these games are adding content.
And looking forward to Destiny, Division, D3 expansion. And tell me, can one solo in TESO and EQN?
Ok. I guess expensive scripted PVE content that you can solo is the future.
Yeh .. certainly it is *my* gaming future. If they keep on producing scripted solo pve content, i probably will keep on playing. Otherwise, i am going to choose other entertainment.
Again, i don't have the illusion, unlike some others, that i will change what they do ... i just consume the entertainment if it is fun to me. It is not like MMOs are the only entertainment out there. I have plenty of other hobbies to do if tomorrow all MMOs are like UO.

And then they would lose money because the majority of people don't want to play those games, they'd go bankrupt, go out of business and the games would vanish, only to be replaced by solo-friendly games that the majority of people want to play.
Welcome to reality.
name one good solo multiplayer game.
There are plenty of them that are good solo games with multiplayer features, or multiplayer games that have solo campaigns. Where have you been?

you guys keep saying that but the fact is all those games belly flop as soon as they hit the market.
Making this type of game might actually let a sub based game stay on subs. rather then belly flop into F2P.
They make enough money for the developers to keep making them, which is what matters. If you really think that's the case, why don't you put your money where your mouth is and pay for such a game to be developed? No? Why not?

Very carefully, because they could drive the train wreck over the clift instead of repairing it, otherwise. -_-
