Ms Pacman *is* a boring game. I did not play it when it was first released, and i don't play it now.

too difficult huh. :)  Keep running.  ^^

Yes. I don't need to train my reflex and pattern recognition on a video game for my self-esteem. I feel that is a complete waste of my time. I would rather read.

There isn't even thinking for something like Ms Pacman .. just memorization of the patterns.

"If a game is easy and is meant to hold one's attention, it better have a lot of content."

That's the problem, MMOs have always had an issue with content, once they all became easymode this became a glaring issue.

Oh and memorizing patterns is better than having your hand held as you sleep walk through a game. Pattern recognition, reflexes, whatever the game tests you against it is better than a game which makes you snooze.

    Challenge is fun.

Sorry, but memorizing patterns in ms pac man wasn't some easy task that required no thinking. just to memorize the first level required more investment than any raid. Dudes that had many levels memorized were on TV or writing books.

I believe this is part of the problem.  Most people look at video games as a bad thing or a side attraction for entertainment.  The same could be said of sports, board games, crossword puzzles, reading, etc.  They are all either just games or entertainment.  The games are made to be hard and people compete in them to extremes.  The same is just as possible in a video game.  For some reason people just won't accept them as something that is worthy of time and effort.  That's part of why games are being dumbed down IMO.  People want to concentrate on the (so called) important things in life.  I'm not saying that's bad, but anything can be really time consuming and most of the time people who invented complex things invested a most of their time in that one thing.  They didn't branch out to a lot of different things.  A lot of the time this made them introverts or people who weren't liked much.

Exactly my point. I don't waste my time memorizing video games levels.

I believe people should be able to choose what they feel is important for themselves.  I dislike when people frown upon others because they feel such and such is a waste, but such and such is so important in life.  Maybe said person is right, but everyone has a choice.  Maybe some people feel games are important to them.  Most things in life that are good are something people pour their hearts and souls into.  It may seem silly to pour your heart and soul into a game, but people do it all the time with art work and other constructions they build/invent.  I don't believe it's a waste of time to train you memory to remember video game levels.  Things of that nature are actually supposed to help your mind.  For instance people who don't use maps when traveling tend to improve their mind a lot more then people who don't.  I'll admit I use a GPS, but it doesn't change the facts.
