- armor is painted on, that's why you can still see your flimsy arms, they need more variety for armor -> decide between fency armor and large scale pvp
- phasing is bad -> whats the better alterantive for immersion and performance?
- range targeting needs work -> agree, hit boxes way to large
- potion slots needs work /datringsrsly -> agree
- need collision for pvp /stuck -> again, decide between collision and large scale pvp...collision AND large scale pvp = 10fps
From what I have played, several beta weekends, I love this game. Has great crafting, fun story and lots to explore. I have even tried the PvP and liked it. I normally hate PvP.
I just hope they do not fail where GW2 did and force people in to groups to complete the story quest lines. It was one of the reasons I quit that game.
Most reviewers have had a narrow perception of the game only playing the first 8 or 9 levels. These are the worst ones and very linier. Once you get to 10 for PvP and able to also get out in to the wide world is it far better. Level 12 is when dungeons come in to play and level 15 you get to use two weapon types meaning you get to use two action bar ability sets, like you could with GW2 weapons.
For me I will play the 30 days you get with the original purchase and see how I go from there.

$15 a month for that and the end game?
Get real ESO what were u devs on when you decided that the end game didn't matter.
you see, the thing is - a lot of people - me included - couldnt care less about raiding... and whats better? 40 men raiding? or 2000 men pvp?
2000 men pvp PLUS raiding, would be better, wouldn't you agree?
Why would you want to alianate more than half of the themepark MMO demographic by not including raids?

Nobody reviewed the game after only playing the first 9 levels.

Because they have WoW for that.
I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.
Incredible gathering not at your list. This alone removes much of the credibility.
Never had any issues with first person and telegraphs myself. And I played exclusively 1-st person.
Deeply disagree on the "not Elder Scrolls" part. This game, more than anything, was ES. NPCs and PCs have nothing different in their overhead info or appearance, which is great for immersion. Honestly, if I let a friend play without telling him what the game is, I bet he wouldn't understand its not Skyrim for many hours.
Incredible feeling of accomplishment when beating solo-bosses alone. Difficulty perfectly adjusted.
Some of the bad include big untested aerias, feeling in pvp that alone you are worth nothing and can change nothing, bugs and marketing/greed.

And I personally look forward to The Repopulation myself.
I'm actually looking forward to ESO, I thought at first Wildstar would win me over and I'd drool over it releasing over ESO but I didn't really care for Wildstar. Wildstar just wasn't my cup of tea and I didn't care much for anything I saw from it. It felt like I was running through the same game I did with WoW and GW2, at least with an Elder Scrolls game I'll feel at home as a huge fan of the series. The thing is is that ESO can be fixed because at its heart it's an elder scrolls game no matter what people say, just because it isn't as amazing as Skyrim people are complaining. Go play Arena and then tell me what an elder scrolls game truly is at its heart. Wildstars heart just wasn't cut out to be as funny and goofy as it attempted to be, and while it had awesome combat I just wasn't into it. No hate for those who do like it though, but I'm going to stick with ESO until The Repop and ArcheAge come out in 2017!
There are a few more months until it is launched. At that point i'll figure out if i'm going to get it or not. I provided feedback in my beta survey. The two things they need to get me (even though i was very impressed).
1. A rift like public grouping in areas. I'd like the option to join to be more evident, but at least it's a button push away. The most annoying thing is to see someone doing the same quest as you and being forced into competition as opposed to working together.
2. I want to do the same quests with my wife and best friend. We play at different times. I want to always be able to play with them. Make that Happen zenimax.

Why would I pay $15 a month for that? It's available free in many mmos.
Where as good raiding is now only available in about 3 or 4 mmos.
$15 a month = that you must have raiding
Raided all WoW raids just hitting one button. when u done raids, u know all tactics and its just move tis spot soon, spam 2 2 2 2 2 2 2, move again, spam 2 2 2 2 2.

Yup. I found myself disagreeing with most of the OP's points. Very much a single person perspective opinion, rather than distilling community feedback and giving an overview of that.
More instancing than in japanese boobgame. Hardly Multiplayer at all, barely Online.
DAoC - 00-06 - And every now and then WoW - Online since launch - and now back again. EVE - Online since 07 - and still on, and on, and on.. WHO - Online 08-10 LOTR-O - Online 06-08 Also played : Asherons Call, EverQuest, EQ2, Dungeons & Dragons, Cabal, Dark & Light, GW, GW2, LA2, Ryzom, Shaiya, SWG, Allods, Forsaken World, ArcheAge, Secret World, Darkfall, Rift, ESO, Tera.
I enjoyed just about everything that was placed in the "bad", disagreeing with this opinion piece.
But the one thing I can DEFINITELY agree on is the phasing issue. Someimtes you are out of phase because you have to be for a quest. Sometimes it's a bug. The problem is.. You never know for sure what the case is.
This was the only, and incredibly frustrating experience I had in beta. My wife and I played together. We were friends, we were in the same group, we were sure to make the same choices, and still.. Phasing was problematic.
This was even worse when I tried to join a group for an instanced dungoen.. Still don't know why we couldn't get into the same phase.
This, above all, will be the biggest break point for most gamers for ESO.
They should just remove monster telegraphing altogether. If you can't tell what a monster is going to do from its skill animation, you shouldn't know to dodge it. I mean... giant red circle? Glowing lines pointing you to healers? Clearly this is intended for people who just aren't good at games. But why lower everyone to that level? It's like No Gamer Left Behind.
the games awsome even with its flaws, I am really looking forward to its launch and much like yourself I think its worth the 60 bones. Will it keep me playing and paying for the next 6 months? Only time will tell but I think its most def worth 60 for a month of play much like a single player game but it has the potential to keep me interested but for how long that I dont know yet but I really look forward to finding out

i guess "fun" in a game is pointless for you....
Yeah, to me pointless PVP and RvRvR ain't "fun". Needs to be something on the line for it to be "fun" for me. And by that I mean more then some crappy alliance points...

How will the PS4 & Xbox1 users take to this game? Grumblings already heard about the monthly fee and what about all the mods the PC users will have access to use that they won't? Unfair? Time will tell...

I'm getting more and more doubts about buying this game. It looked so well, was very promising and I've been seriously thinking to pre-order but I've gone from "maybe getting the collectors edition" to "getting the regular pre-order" to "perhaps its better to wait until its released and has some reviews". It's a bloody shame, I've been a fan since Morrowind but ESO seems to walk the wrong path too much for me to be a instant buy.

Never had an issue with phasing. Love it actually.
Never had an issue with First Person view because I never use FPV, it's pointless because it's not "true" first person when you have no peripheral vision.
The combat not "feeling" right I agree with, especially with ranged caster combat. My sorcerer made me want to cry it sucked so bad. And I LOVE mage type classes in my MMOs.
The freedom is nice, but I still had no real reason to go exploring, or at least I wasn't shown one in order to immerse me and make me want more, which I feel is an issue with the starting tutorial area and following starting zones.
Over-bloated pros going well out of the way to stretch things to make it sound like Skyrim? Check
Apologetic cons doing everything possible to tone them down? Check. (though I give you credit for #1 for being both apologetic and pointing out their identity crisis).
It is not possible for combat to be slow and underdeveloped AND have great RvR as RvR depends ENTIRELY on combat. This is like stating a first person shooter is great even though the game has major aiming issues. This, is the single biggest thing not talked about on gaming sites, something that has only been touched on by V-bloggers, modding sites and major fan sites.
PvP, all PvP depends on the games combat, one of the weakest points about this game especially when the animations are thrown in, while not as bad as TSWs animations, they are damn close to it. If you were to toss in that the world is being invaded by the God of RAPE, the entire idea of all alliances attacking Cyrodiil makes even less sense and destroys immersion.

I had a hard time seeing past the combat to be honest. It felt bad. Like it was fighting me the whole time. It didn't feel responsive. Combat is the main thing I would be doing in a PvP focused game like this.
I never played DAoC and I know a lot of people on these forums loved that game. I figured this would be my chance to get a taste of that. It seems ESO will be using some of those mechanics and they look really fun but I am confident in my decision to pass on this one. If it was crafting, immersion, quests, or a handful of other things that I disliked I would be able to look past it. I can't do that with combat though.
