See this is the problem. It isn't that he is just bash happy with MMOs, rather the last 4 (or more) have totally been let downs. ESP is the same.
They basically took a extremely strong, detailed and deep IP and dumbed it down. Again a prime example of greed and trying to make a game that is everything to everyone which always fails. These companies need to start realizing that a game doesn't have to have 5 million subscribers to be successful and start making great games that cater to 500k subscribers that will be hardcore and steadfastly loyal to it for 10 years or more.
Then and only then will we have another good MMO.
Actually there is 3 more MMO's he hates on after that, bringing his total to the PAST 7 he has played lol I Stopped reading after 23 pages.
Listen if I liked SHHOTERS back in 2002 but the past 7 shooters I have played sucked, I don't think the "FPS Genre" is for me anymore, Know what im saying....

Another Beta weekend and another round of hatefilled posts from players proclaiming the shit that ESO is in their opinion. I just don't get it???
Im not saying ESO is the greatest MMO I have ever played and the future WOW killer but in my honest opinion there is enough in the game, Graphics ,Immersion-Gameplay ect to warrant a purchase and really have me excited for launch.
I can understand those who are burnt on the genre saying ESO does not offer enough new for them to play, But to bash this game the way some have like its the buggiest lamest piece of shit they have ever played just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
Im starting to think most of the hate is just bitter Elder Scrolls fans who are pist Skyrim/Oblivion 2 wasn't released and instead a ESO MMO was made, That's my only explanation.
Sorry, not everyone agrees with you! I love the game, but others will dislike it of course. Folks here would bash a thousand dollars if you gave it to them. No matter what, we ES players need to play this as a group of fans and if the game dwindles down to a niche of us, then so be it. I'm really looking forward to playing with those of you that will be there. See you in Tamriel.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
Its totally different than Skyrim. Skryim was actually sort of fun within the first hour or so of game time. It may get better later but having to play for 8-10 hours to get into a game is not good game design
2. I don't get this one, I had no problem finding mobs to kill
3. Yes I did play AOC At launch Was a lot of fun but lost interest in the game after several months or so
4. Are you kidding? I think this is one of the best looking games on the market, Are you playing on max detail??
5. This is a fair argument, But eso has never been about great combat you should have known that coming in
6. Now you are just trolling lol
7. Ill assume you mean reading text, Ill saty neutral on this one
8. I hate HATE F2P, After playing Warthunder and Hearstone, My god does cash shop milk you!!!! I love a sub and getting the COMPLETE game for 15 bucks a month
9. I think you established that with 1-8
10.Does it really matter they packed 150 hours worth of content , How many games are you currently playing endgame on, just stop.
Ender4 you're a funny guy. It seems you got nothing else to do than to hate on different games. Go outside and do something you actually enjoy instead of being a clown on the internet. Please!
Originally posted by danh2os My wife and I found the questing to be really boring and seriously lacking in challenge. We hardly ever had to kill anything because players way outnumber the mobs. We gave up around level 6 and spent the day playing The Secret World.
The beginning of the game is like any other. They are simple quests to train/acclimate you to the game. Look at WoW as an Orc. You start out killing Scorpid Workers, Mottled Boar, and collect Prickly Blossoms. You do this for about 10 levels and it is uneventful. It's basically the same thing in Rift as you work your way out of the starting zone. TSW? Same thing. Get out of the starting area in ESO and it will be better.

You can easily attain 500k subscribers while also attempting to market to as many demographics as possible, this is just common sense and good busines. Developing games you know for a fact are only going to pull a paltry sum, but its the best you could ever hope for, is for small companies. They both have their place, but to suggest an IP like TES should go for a niche audience, is retarded.
The MMO world always has a lot of hate for games because it does not deliver to them personally what they think it should. That's about it really. Not everyone likes everything the internet just allows these individuals to congregate in one place, namely forums.

Typically MMOs should have more than just 150 hours of gameplay in it; lets not mention that it took only 50ish hours for the first person to hit the cap in this game already. So obviously they're fluffing those numbers a bit much. I can get more that 150 hours out of any Elder Scrolls game but the fact that this one has that little, Meh...
You can level to 1-92 in EQ2 in a comparable time. It doesnt mean the player didnt just skip over truckloads of content to achieve max level as soon as humanly possible. Pointing out that someone can do it, feasibly, in 50 hours, makes no difference whatsoever.
I can complete the main quest in Skyrim and be "done" in what, 8 hours? Please.

Well to me this is good. When I was in military basic training they were hard on us, this weeded out the people that couldn't handle the military. They sent them home where they went to work at Denny's or McDonalds or whatever. In this case, the 8-10 hours gets rid of those that can't commit to the game. It is filtering out the individuals who can't adapt to a different style of game other than the regular clones. Those players I want playing in another game.

You can complete every storyline in Skyrim in 8 hours? I'm doing my playthrough of it again and I've barely finished the Champions guild and Dawnguard.
Did you not read where I said "main quest"?
Leveling to max does not = completing every quest. You're comparing two completely different playstyles across two seperate genres. Pretty sure I can throw your posts in the nutter bin at this point chum.
To be fair the game is extremely buggy. I had 4 quests in my journal at one point and couldn't complete 3 of them because they were all bugged. They did seem to fix the annoying bug where you lock up in the middle of quest dialog at least.
The game just isn't good. The combat isn't fun, the quests are awful and the PvP is highly mediocre. They didn't even seem to try to make a good game, they just spit out a MMORPGified version of Skyrim which to be honest isn't as good as Skyrim.
That isn't hating on the game, it is just the truth from my eyes. It is a bad game. Trust me, I really wanted to like this game. I'm sick of playing in betas and knowing the game is going to crash and burn within a year. I desperately want a playable MMORPG but we just keep getting these shoddy games instead.
to be fair your just wrong, but you may be wayyyyyyy more sensitive then I.
@Mtdibbs probably but does that make it less true? I remember how many recruits we dropped at RTC. I also remember the realities of deploying the first time, looking around, and wondering how half the idiots made it through. What would it have been like if they HADN'T screened those guys out at RTC?

lol, your drill sergeant would probably slap the shit out of you if he saw you comparing a fantasy video game to the military. Anyways, the initial impressions are typically the most important while playing games. If the developer can't pull the player into the game at the start. They'll most likely not like it and move onto another product.
Well he may slap me, but he would probably agree. Get rid of the whiners and retain the Elder Scrolls Champions.
The game will lose a large amount of players after the first month, but hold fans of the title. It will become a niche game like so many others have, and what all new releases will become. Niche games are the future of mmorpgs imho.

Answers:
P2P and they want to play it for free.
Another MMO coming out, maybe WS or pick one of your choice.
There see it leeching players from their current MMO.
They are under the age of twenty and do not need a reason.
