Its where my guild wants to roll so its where I am going as well.

I'm not rolling with any guild coming from another title. I did the same with GW2! The problem is unless your guild is huge ES fans I doubt most will stick with the game. I'm not saying ESO is a bad game, far from it. But, if the folks in your guild are used to games like WoW or Rift, they won't play long imho, it is to different and they are more than likely going to play as if it were the typical clone. They will wind up quitting and you will be doing the all familiar "my guild quit, so this game sucks", then you will come to the forums and report how bad EOS.  I do hope it goes well for you guys though!

I was thinking about this today. I had so many flashbacks from previous games. I stay away from multi-gaming communities because when I tried them, there was no one available to group up, everyone was soloing. And when GW2 was out, joining multiple games was cool, but they were a ghost town in a matter of weeks. There is a huge guild from WoW that is coming to play in Daggerfall Covenant which I am pretty sure that will be playing for a month then go back to WoW. So looking for a dedicated eso fan guild is a must. As far as factions, I liked all of them, but I think I will choose AD and play my imperial there.

I'm going to join a guild after I get out of the starter zone at least. I hate rushing and when I start a new game with a guild I tend to try and rush myself to keep up with others. I'm not sure exactly when I will join, but I am going to make my own choices and not be hurried. This will give me time to make new friends in the area, and then decide what way to from there.

    Aldmeri Dominion

    (1) High Elf philosophy is already a proven factor -- others represent endless approximation.

    (2) Khajiit: Cunning and ferocity (kittehs for crying out loud).

    (3) Wood Elves: *look behind you*

    I will play Daggerfall:

    • Bretons have great racials for healing
    • Redguards have great racials for tanking
    • Orsimer are completely badass
All the other factions have one or more racer I cannot stand!

But, the real reason is that Redguard chicks are too damn hot.  :)

    I chose the Ebonheart Pact. Before I knew I'd be able to roll any race, I broke down the options this way;

    • Aldmeri Dominion
      • Altmer (Elf, High)
      • Bosmer (Elf, Wood)
      • Khajit (Other, Feline)
    • Daggerfall Covenant
      • Breton (Human, Anglo Saxon based)
      • Redguard (Human, Moor based)
      • Orc (Elf, I know crazy right?)
    • Ebonheart Pact
      • Nord (Human, Viking based)
      • Dunmer (Elf, Dark)
      • Argonian (Other, Lizard)
I came to the conclusion that the Pact offered the greatest variety of character styles, one human, one elf, one other. While the Covenant was Human, Human, Orc and the Dominion was Elf, Elf, Cat. I then went about looking for a guild that fit my likes both in and out of gaming that would be rolling on the side of the Pact and found one in Gaiscioch.

Two weeks later, I found out I could play any race and that analysis was rendered moot. However, I am still happy with my choice.

I am going to get my Khajiit all up in your ebonheart!

Love argonians/dark elves, and the land/scenery looks cool to me.  However, I will be playing a Khajiit on ebonheart :-P

My heart is with AD, because i just love the Queen and having the idea that a female character is leading the Faction is damn awesome, also mainly because of how the backstory of the forming of the Alliance

but my Guild will roll as EP, so that's where im going, for the sake of Cyrodil PvP

    So What Now?

I will be playing Ebonheart Pact. Just like the Horde in WoW I like how enemies banded together for the "greater" good of all. My favorite colors are also Red/Black. Also I love Nords and snowy areas so this seems the most natural fit to me. :)

I can see it either way. Imperials (Roman Empire) ended up being made up of many cultures (melted together) and modern day England's history all started with Anglo-Saxons (germanic) with other European influences modeling their ambitions after the Roman Empire seeing that region was occupied by them for hundreds of years.

Bretons were the native people of those lands and those not integrated into Roman dominance always attempted to keep their cultural identity far more. Real world Bretons are celtic and many modern English people do not consider themselves primarily celtic. Those from Wales or other smaller celtic sub-cultures (if use that correctly) within England and France would choose Breton if wanting cultural symmetry. Those finding themselves far more connected with the later imperial path of England which is nearly entirely based upon the influence of the Roman model may very well find the Imperials more familiar.

Bretons in game are more based upon Bretons that made up Brittany which is now part of France but Bretons were considered the native people of southern British isles and some west coast European regions. Many celtic people today in the British isles still consider the English basically invaders or perhaps more accurately, cultural invaders.

    You stay sassy!

That's certainly one way to look at it, although I was referring to genetic look of the race. You're definitely right though, Roman blood is every where in europe as well as the middlle east/africa.

I take it you mean humans with it's racial implication. The entire Dunmer race is black. Argonians can be black. Khajiit can be black.

I actually love the concept of the Redguard (although I think their name is stupid). It is nice to see an entire culture instead of just a dark skin option for human creation in the character builder which most games do (if they even bother).

It's partly process of elimination for me.  Definitely *not* the Aldmeri Dominon because they are the Good (in the D&D sense) guys, and I can't stand Good, especially of the Lawful variety.  Not Ebonheart Pact, because the natural antipathy between it's constituent nations makes it born to fail; either it will collapse from mutual animosity before the civil war even ends, or it will win and then fall apart in in-fighting.  That leaves the Daggerfall Covenant.  Which works out well, because I suffer from Daggerfall nostalgia anyway.

Well (ha) apparently the guild I was joining has decided to go Aldmeri Dominion. Which I did not want to do.

So I either join it as a dark elf or make the change to High Elf.

or, find another guild, which I did, but they are only part time pvp'ers if that.
