ESO or MMOs in general doesn't run a client side prediction servers.

I never jumped on the ESO bandwagon, and I still haven't considered purchasing the game. Yet even I feel like OP has some pretty bad reasons for wanting to get a refund right after release.
Game is not pure North America, which would be USA/Canada/Brazil ... they attached Austrailia and New Zealand to the NA server.
The community I've already seen is not one I want to play with , 90% WoW people and 10 % mmo gamers
Quests are bugged still , and other things are bugged like character creation,
I am also feeling major serverlag from Australian players and it is just unexecptable .
Will hope I can get a refund, I knew I shouldnt of bought it, but I did.
This is a really strange post. To clarify for you people in Australia and New Zealand are directed towards the EU server but can choose, like everyone else including you, to go on either server. The problem you seem to describe sounds like lag from your internet connection not from the connection of people on the other side of the world to you.
Even after reading your later posts where you appear to be trying to explain why you think it was because of other players internet connection when you were playing in PvP it still just sounds like it is your own internet connection that was the problem. I have experienced the same issues you have described and 99% of the time when it happens it was caused by a connection issue between me and my internet service provider, not other players.

if they didnt, then the servers would be extremely laggy . Beyond playable,
As a networking and software engineering professional, let me be the first to tell you that you have no clue what you're talking about. While predictive latency modeling is common place in FPS, it's not in MMOs. Ever wonder why people in FPS get butthurt at the guy with the 999 ping? It's because he slows EVERYONE down, not just one or two players. That's fine for 16 or 32 people. It isn't viable for thousands. Seeing as you are the only person I have seen complaining about latency issues, that's obviously not the case. Furthermore, this insistence that it's the Aussies causing your latency is enough for me to immediately dismiss your "expertise" on this matter.
...Is there any better reason, ever- for wanting a refund?
No. I do not think there is. This should be a given and devs should know this by now- No one (and I do mean NO ONE) wants to play a game with Australians...Even Australians do not like to play with other Australians.
EDIT- I can deal with lag, random disconnects, desynche, broken quest lines, unfinished areas and bugs. But Australians? A man needs to draw the line somewhere.
Uh oh better skip Gloria Victus I'm going to play and I'm from AUSTRALIA!!
All your pings are belong to us!
And better make that ArcheAge also! I'm from New Zealand and I'm currently playing TESO and will be trying AA ! . I doubt Trion will be IP blocking us.
This was the same guy in zone chat about 2 hours ago. He asked why I picked a US server?? Then went on a rant about how Aussie and New Zealand players were causing "Severe server lag". And ranted something about them being "Worse hackers than Russians" lol. In all the years I have been gaming. I have not ONCE heard anyone gripe about such utter nonsense. My average latency to game servers is around 150-170ms. I fail to see how that is causing him to lag. Been happily gaming on various mmo;s for years and years to the US. I even was playing Eve Online with ZERO lag issues !
If those are the reasons for wanting your money back, then sure go ahead and try. I'd love to see the reply you get from the CSR

30 megs down. 25 megs up. Thanks for your incredible insight,.. Where did you got to school for Network engineering degree ?
Stanford. Masters degree. Thanks for asking. And your internet speed test is about as useless as your "Australians stole mah ping" theory. There are literally multitudes of reasons you might get bad latency, the majority having nothing to do with Zenimax or TESO's network or server capabilities. For instance, in between you and the server, perhaps a node is down and they have to reroute you. Perhaps you're playing wirelessly and something like your TV is screwing up your latency. Maybe someone next door is downloading 2 gigs of porno. There are hundreds of possibilities. Would you not agree that if they were using a latency equivalency algorithm, more people than just YOU would be experiencing it.....you know, like everyone, because that's how that works.....
Originally posted by panglicar Ok, now can you explain why you felt the need to make a forum post about this? Is there a way we can help you cope with your decision to buy the game? Would you like us to give you the money back for the game or is it simply just whining?
Or, it may be that he is actually providing us with information about aspects of the game that isn't working properly or are impeding his playing? Maybe he also did this to inform those undecided souls that they should wait a bit longer before buying the game? I know it's easy to be cynical, but you should at least try to process some of the information he's providing..

So you're unhappy that they made it fair?
Gotcha
Check what you have signed up before purchasing, if everyhing there agrees to give you a refund, then you will get a refund.
I got a refund from GMG.

No ? How do you think action combat happens then?
So you want a refund because of... Australians?

One of the worst trolled games I have played was WoW and it has a sub based community. I really don't think a sub will keep the "bad community" away.

Honestly, we (older mmo players) have to get used to that new "WoW" population that you will find in all new MMORPGs.
They are not bad or whatever: they are just a different new younger generation (yes, we are old ! ).
Either we get used to them, either we play solo and disable global chat, either we just stop playing this kind of games...
I am not sure what to do either.
I do it all the time. +1

Why must you Australians ruin it for everyone? Why?
