I wonder how anyone can consider the activity on here, "Healthy" from a social standpoint.
So let's recap and see if i got this straight.
You're unhappy that a bunch of random people on an internet forum said bad things about a game you like, so you decided to create a thread on said forum to express said unhapiness instead of doing the normal and logical thing about said situation and simply ignore the comments and carry on playing the game you enjoy.
So, you're apparently so attached to the game that you can't take someone having a negative opinion on it, therefore, you made this thread and call others out by saying they're trolls.
Hmmmm, sounds to me like you're the one with an unhealthy obssession, not just with ESO but with these forums aswell.
Back away from the computer friend.
Actually what he said makes a lot of sense but try telling that to the guys sitting at the window in the old folks home and well.... looks like you already know the answer you'd get.
Why people fight so hard for their right to bitch and moan about a game on a forum no dev is ever going to read, I'll never really understand. No one here is changing the mmo world, that should be obvious by now. You're just gathering all the bitter old vets in one place so you can agree everything used to be better and those damn kids are on your lawn again.
You have over 3K posts and you are asking us this?
Are you telling us you have never participated in such a behavior yourself? people often forget that anyone can see through your posting history on these forums.
Lets not act like we are better than anyone else because we are not.
I hate nothing more than double standards in this world.
I won't label this the best MMO ever. Honestly, I don't even think its in the top 5.
If this is the best MMO ever then MMO's have really gone to shit. Even if it's in the top 5 I'd still be shocked, as you say, it's just a single player game with PvP. Having a load of players running around doesn't make an MMO, it's what those players can do together that matters.
...Is that in the game, no one is complaining about the guild bank bug, no one is freaking out over bad reviews, no one is saying how the game is a haven for gold spammers and cheaters.
Its seriously black and white, in game, people are having fun, talking in zone-chat about random stuff and striking up good conversations, theres PvP, theres RP, theres just a general feeling of community and enjoyment.
And then when you come to these forums, what is it? People who are spending their days on the forums complaining about the game rather than in the game actually playing it.
Is there bugs? Yes. Have their been problems? Of course.
But the community in game does not get anywhere close to how worked up this forum gets. This forum is seriously drama, over-exaggeration, and near-political levels of opinion. Its a FUCKING GAME!
Hell me and my friends just spent the past 5 hours getting over a jumping puzzle that the devs didnt even put in the game!! We literally created it ourselves in a psychotic emergent content kind of way and professed our devotion to the great Gull-Lord of Stros M'kai.
Having unique experiances in a modern MMO? Kind of a crazy concept I know, but guess what, its happening!! And its not just me, its a whole slew of other gamers who appreciate what ESO is, and not what others want it to be.
lol are you serious? Granted the bugs and shit don't annoy me, but the bots are completely different. They are in ever single dungeon. Normaly a squad of them and I've started getting spam mail from gold farmers. The game is enjoyable, especially for elderscroll single player gamers. It has what they like from single and a lot more. Is it a world beater? I don't think so, but still an enjoyable game.
I'm still having a great time in game. I just jump on here to see if anything new is going on when I can't play the game like right now while I'm sitting on the pooper.
OP you are pretty much dead on with how it is in game, you do have a random guy maybe once every couple hours start trolling but other than that it is pretty positive in zone chat. The gold spammers are annoying and I hope they can take them out soon, that is my only gripe so far. There have been a few bugs but nothing logging out and back in doesn't fix.
I don't know what game chat OP has seen, but people are constantly venting frustrations about getting stuck in loading screens, bugged quests and falling into the sky and falling forever. Maybe OP is in Bangkorai and is missing all the displeasure because of the Twilight Twerps getting worked over for Werewolf/Vampire bites.
"As far as the forum code of conduct, I would think it's a bit outdated and in need of a refre *CLOSED*"

Back to the game for me, cya forum trolls until the next time I have to drop the browns off at the super bowl.
I keep hearing about Gold spammers.... Thats really, really troublesome. With a sub game and only 1 server, could they not afford to pay someone min wage to sit in the chats and immediatley ban the spammers? Even if they only got 1/day and the gold seller had to buy another account it would pay for itself to have someone monitering the chat.

Or is it not really as bad as everyone is saying?
Gold spammers are the bane of any game they infest, the trouble is that just a few of them can seem like thousands. Chances are the GM's etc are too busy dealing with other issues to be able to deal with them at the moment, eventually that will cease to be the case, but until they do, the best you can do is just ignore them.
On a company/game official site, they delete a lot of the negative threads, so on their boards, it seems that more people are happy, and thus try to get more people to buy the newly released game, by removing all negative everything.
At non-offical sites the moderation does not generally delete negative threads out of hand.
So if on general MMO sites there seem to be more negative threads, there are. They are not tolerated on official sites for a game that just launched.
And here, most of that negative feedback from players/former players/beta testers is usually warranted. Devs just don't want to hear it, or don't think it is a big deal, and to them it isn't. But if it was something that made a player quit, it was a big deal, to THEM.
(Not that I would trust an "Official Review" from sites like this, where the companies' whose games they review, are paid advertisers.)

Yeah I understand but with only 1 server and a subscription model I would assume there would hardley be any willing to broadcast...I mean the risk they take of losing their account (at least $60) would seem that the ESO team just doesnt care... I mean, if there were 10 servers that would be like 30 people needed to cover chat 24/7- I get that...But 1 server? With the sub fees alone 3 people could man the chat 24/7 for low dollar- It would seem.
The gold sellers/sammers arent what really bothers me- Its that this early in the game and with only 1 server its tthis bad (evidently)-
I personally havnt seen this and am basing this ONLY on what I am reading which is why I am trying to grasp how bad it could actually be. I mean if you guys are seeing it every 10 mins or so- Why cant a GM be seeing the same with only 1 server to cover?
TESO is played the same way GW2 is; that is, everyone playing solo in a game labeled an mmorpg. So of course you aren't going to hear all these honest opinions because:
1. They invested in the game already so their point of view becomes extremely bias for awhile and
2. People hardly talk to each other at all, let alone to give in depth game reviews....
I really wish the mods would make a Rants, and raves sub forum. That way the hundreds of threads that rehash the same topic can have their own place to whine and complain, and we can have the general discussion sub forum to talk about game play and information related to the damn game.
Although I think I will just not come to these forums anymore since the mods don't give a shit anyway.

Yeah right.
If there was a "rant sub-forum" the fans would be more interested in going to that one and complain about those said rants instead of talking about their own game in the general discussion.
Don't believe me? Count the number of posts in the "troll threads" and how many of those there are. Now count how many in positive threads. I even posted something funny i found on reddit. No posts. Zero. So there you go. But, like always, it's more fun this way. Popcorn.
... You do realize people in game will be busy playing and won't probably point out issues with a game they desperately want to like right? I'm also quite confident there are people who brought it up and mention it and talk about it as well. Just because you filter out those people doesn't mean they don't talk about it.
The Dupe bug is a big deal. Its not the end of the game at all, though what they do to 'fix' the problem can leave the game hurt for a good amount of time, never fully recovering its economy (case in point, Diablo 3 and blizzards handling of that). Ignoring it is BAD for your game you like. Point it out, make it known, try and ensure they do what they can to repair it. I'm certain given they handle it right the game can be restored back and things can easily go back to being normal and left relatively unharmed by the bug. There is a good chance though their solution likely won't be able to achieve that though perfectly.
Again, no end of the world, but its a serious problem that ignorance won't undo what happened either.

I have to disagree, i've been reading threads here and there, but i yet to see one made that actualy hates the game.
IMHO, it seems people are misinterpreting hate for VERY concerned players. Why do i say this? because no one has actually stated they hate the game or have been trying to spread false information, and i 100% doubt people would spend £50 - £70, plus a sub to sit and play a game they hate, i'm sorry no one is that stupid. Yes, people have brought up negative points, but this doesn't truly mean they hate the game. I will say there have been a few posts about how it's going F2P, but those posts have been few and far between to even talk about.
If you feel i'm chatting nonsense, i would like someone to honestly link me a few threads that has been made to bash the game or spread misinformation and hate.

LMAO
So according to you, the "critics" in this forum all actually love 95% of ESO, but because they are very "concerned" about certain things, they post incessantly about the 5% of the game that they don't enjoy ?
Well known that the majority of people who play MMOs don't check game forums and stuff. Well over 90%.. they aren't complaining ingame because they probably don't even know about it.. but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be stamped out because they all will, eventually, find out.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

That makes sense... yeah...
Ummm.......yeah, it does.
I've been sitting on the fence on TESO for a couple months now. Intentionally waiting to see how they get past the launch and the 1st month or 2. I was almost sold, I almost pre ordered, but didn't. I just knew it was best to wait. Worst case (for waiting), game is awesome all around and I miss a month or two, but if it was awesome, it would still be there. But unfortunately, that's not how it seems to be going. So now my fence sitting may be coming to an end with me finally walking away from this one. And if I say, I am not going to buy this game until I know that the majority of these launch issues are fixed and that it has a decent lonjevity beyond that, and if I start listing the issues with the game and citing them as problems and reasons for not having bought the game does that mean that I hate this game?

Agreed, and I think 90% is generous. I think its 99%. I'm amazed how many people in my guild don't know the simple things we learn early on in the forums. I also think that most of them aren't quite as emotional as the forums or react one way or another like forum goers do. They may not like something or they see a bug, they say they don't like it, and move on hoping it gets fixed. They don't rush to a forum and say, I hate bugs, I give it a 1/10. Thats just not the normal person playing or even playing another game. Forum goers are a unique sub culture with a lot of extremists :-) lol.
The point of this thread isnt to say that there are no issues, its to say that people on these forums blow things out of proportion to push an agenda. Its like watching a political race where one gaff leads to outrage, I just cant believe that a forum dedicated to "Fans" of MMO's can become such a breeding ground for this drama.
1. The Guild Bank bug: Again I havent seen anyone mention it in game, let alone how its portrayed here as a reason to cancel your sub and forget any faith in Zenimax as a company. The in game economy is most deifently not screwed either besides iron ore dropping from 700G for a 100 stack to around 600 gold a stack. That is literally nothing!
2. Gold Spammers: Yes they are an annoyance, and yes I get at least one letter in the mail everyday, but you know what you can do? Click ignore, delete the message, and keep playing. Most people in the chat that talk about Gold Spammers just make fun of them, not spew nonsense about how their ruining the entire game. Again its a mild annoyance but its nothing serious.
And finally...
3. The Bots:
This is the biggest one to me, because Yes, they are prevalent, especially in low level areas, and yes they should be dealt with. But again, they arent taking anything away from the player, in most cases, they are crowded into the same bubble with stupid names like "XaaxvbNB" or "AaaCC" and get the same couple of mobs everytime they spawn.
But again, ive never seen a scenario where tons more enemies didnt spawn right afterwards, a few feet to the left of the bots for players to kill. Its not like they are preventing players from continuing quests, or getting the mobs they need, they are just cheaply spamming the same area for 1 gold and a few exp a pop.
Again, should these issues be dealt with? Yes, of course they should. Is this really a sign of Zenimax's incompetence and the game failing as a whole? No, again its a minimal issues that doesnt need to have more than one forum post or one discussion a week on the topic.

What does it matter how many complain? Is the problem real or not? If it's true that players have lost items in their inventory, came here to discuss it on a forum. You are calling it "blowing it out of proportion" Blowing it out of proportion would be someone making claims that it's happening to more people that it did. But I didn't recall seeing that. I recall seeing people acknowledge that it happened at all, and then expressing their opinions on the issue. There is no proportion for that. It either happened or it didn't. Just because the circle you run/ran around with in the game, didn't experience or discuss the issue, doesn't make the problem smaller for someone who lost their stuff.
As far as bots and spammers......well, TESO isn't the 1st to have to deal with them on a large scale. As I recall, both FFXIV and GW2 also had their early struggles with them. But that is a problem that will settle down in time. Unless the developer has proven to be ineffective at properly dealing and lets them, I'd still play any MMO regardless of them. Most games aren't that bad after the 1st couple months.

Well known that the majority of people who play MMOs don't check game forums and stuff. Well over 90%.. they aren't complaining ingame because they probably don't even know about it.. but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be stamped out because they all will, eventually, find out.
There Is Always Hope!
Of course. People are busy playing the game, but you are wrong in saying few complains about the gold spammers and bots in-game, its half the conversations I keep seeing in zone chat. It's a problem many, many players are pissed off about and are waiting to see if Zenimax will actually resolve.
I haven't played ESO personally yet, so i won't speak on that, but strictly from an analogy standpoint i thought it was fantastic!
