I said it before but I'll say it again since there is two of these threads in the forum.
My beta characters were never wiped for 6 months until early access... Which means, it can survive anything you can see happening today.
Chances of your characters getting a wipe are around less then 1%. In fact this game going free to play has higher odds then a wipe.
Its a bit morbid to dwell on doom and gloom, some of you sound like that crazy guy on the corner of the block screaming the end of the world is going to happen!
If, for the sake of discussion, Zenimax decided to wipe the servers completely to restore the issues caused by the duping glitch, how would you respond?
Would you quit? Do you think it would be the right thing to do? Do you think it is even required or do you think the game will be fine in the end?
I'm simply curious about the general consensus of the playerbase. Is this being blown out of proportion?

NO to this....only a few doing it, just fix the issue and let the scammers who don't know how to play wither and die....
im 20th level now and its been 1-3 levels now a day and i have to say it.....love it.....
todo all this again? ugh and lose all my gear and stuff and......because a few thousand jerks took advantage...
Why are people so upset about this whole duping issues? Server wipes and game is wrecked? Come on..
Do they have ways to see exactly who duped? No. Do they have ways to export data from their system displaying your inventory, bank and total gold? Hell yes. Those are standard database fields they can easily retrieve AND edit.
Filter:
- Legendary crafting materials
- Legendary items
- Total gold exceeding 300k sorted by character level
ANYONE who has more than 300k pre VR3-5, has unusual amounts of crafting materials and has tons of legendary items could be easily looked at.
Only the smartest of players would go through extensive measures to hide himself and "launder" the money effectively. Most just sat around generating 1mil+ gold and hundreds of legendary items, which means the MAJORITY will have had their duped bounty stripped away from them already.
It's all about damage control and in this instance the cleanup isn't that difficult.

Yeah similar thing happened in Neverwinter and they only rolled back 48 hours in the end and banned player accounts involved in the exploit as well as supposedly deleting all items involved.
Trouble is the exploit had been going on since closed beta and had never been reported. This crap is going to become more common in MMO's as people pay for Beta access and use it as headstart, find bugs like this to use to their advantage instead of actually testing & reporting crap like this.
