Angry Joe uploaded his review of ESO to Youtube. PVE got a 4/10 while PVP got a 7/10, and he gave the game as a whole a score of 5/10, painfully average.

Anyone can make youtube account and be a critic (well do it yourself then).
He has a moustache so his opinion is invalid.

I don't care about 5/10 rating (although I rate it much higher) but I bloody hate that Angry Joke and that his opinion is presented like something important. Imo he is a complete joke and also played only 1-2 MMOs (GW2 and probably ESO now).
Didn't make it that far, as it was such a poorly executed review. Simply extremely immature and seeming to go out of the way to blow anything negative out of proportion in an attempt to add humour and to "impress" those in the game segments. It doesn't matter what game the review is about, it was just bad. Kind of guess he'd give it 10/10 if the quests had farting jokes.
The claimed grouping issue is total bull, as I quest in a team of three constantly. Only solo quests, by design, cause us to separate. I know some are experiencing bugs, but personally I've experienced very few. Although I have had to reload a few times, when unable to click on something. Maybe it's fraction based. AD bored me to tears, so it would be good to see a review that uses another fraction. All the bad ones appear to be early AD focused.
I can not see how anyone can disagree with him though. I find him annoying, he however usually is right. I find PvE very enjoyable, however I solo everything. They seem to have failed though with the grouping in PvE
Makes me wonder what you do on a forum at all then. He is more well know then us, so if you do not care about his opinion one bit then why would you even care for ours? So the only reason you would be here is to drop your own opinion and assume we would care?
You know what we really need is someone to rate all these so called critics. I mean is Angry Joe actually someone who is qualified to offer a informed unbiased opinion relating to MMORPGs or is he a self important windbag with delusions of adequacy?
Actually seems like a good idea to me with all the vlogger/blogger around. However EVERYONE is qualified to give there opinion about a game or whatever. You think someone writing for Forbes has done some PC gaming reviewing class or something?
Honestly though, that is like 50% of what this hobby is all about.
MMORPGs aren't about having fun. They are about always chasing that dream that someday a game will launch that isn't total crap.
Every new title promises to be that game and for a while some of us believe maybe it is. Eventually though reality hits and we crash to find ourselves hating yet another MMOturd. Dejected and frustrated, with nothing to do because we don't have a game we like to play, we turn to forums, social media, and youtube to let everyone know exactly how we feel and why in some sort of vain attempt at effecting change so next time, on the next game, the developers will finally get it right.
That is what being an MMORPG enthusiast is really all about imo.
As you pointed out everyone can form an opinion and share it, and reviews are just opinions.
How do you review/rate a reviewer without running into the same problem of not trusting the people who rate/review the reviewers?
Rather than try to rate a reviewer you should watch/read some of his previous reviews and see if you agree with his thought process. Maybe you really enjoy FPS games but the reviewer is more of a strategy guy.
There will always be common factors in reviews by different people, such as glaring bugs and exploits, but when you read/watch a review you really need to keep in mind that this is someone else's opinion, someone who may not share your point of view of what's enjoyable and who may not be as forgiving or is too forgiving on certain issues. This does not invalidate the review, rather it simply means that you have opposing views and that's fine.
some random guy on youtube. it still amazes me how people put so much validity into random people on youtube. 'notice'. I am not giving you my opinion of the game. just my opinion of random people from 'the internet'.
dude. 40k is not on zenimax's radar.
ESO is decent game if you look past the bugs and don't compare it with skyrim's singleplayer gameplay. - 7/10
If you don't like the game you can give it 1/10 .. so what ? people who enjoy the game (majority) will still play.

Someone who's opinion is more respected because it is leagues more objective (though not purely unbiased) than yours. If you do not believe me look him up, every game that has been shitty he nailed to a wall regardless how much other reviewers were giving it tongue service.
He has way more viewers than most "big" gaming sites attract. That of course needn't mean much, but the fact that he has also panned big releases that other reviewers just paid lip-service to has earned him a lot of respect from me.
Seems like he does it again here, though I would personally rate ESO slightly higher.

He did rate the PvP in the game higher, and if you check out his youtube page he does have vids up of himself and the 'angry army' in action in ESO. And yes, as much as some people might wish it otherwise, the guy does have a fairly big presence in the MMO gaming community, up there with TB etc. Thing to remember is that these are personal 'reviews' people might disagree with him, just as some will agree, personally i tend to agree with him, more often than not. The fact that he provides an unbiased review is imo, a big thing and lends him a lot more credence than various 'official' magazines that are often paid for them.
I pretty much agree with the review. The review was decently entertaining. Currently I'm 50+ VR 4, and it's so painful. 99% of the game is solo stuff. 1% is group. My wife likes it because she like to solo. I don't like it as much, and definitely not renewing sub because the terrible group content.. which should be a selling point in mmo's, is pretty much non-existent.
I just don't understand.... what were they thinking? Cash grab and that's it?
