    Angry Joe is spot on:

    1. PvP is good.

    2. Free development of your Character is fantastic.

    3. Crafting is nice.

    Everything else?

    1. Grouping is impossible during normal questing - in an MMO?

    2. Monthly fee PLUS cash-shop is pure robbery. The example with the mount proves it.

    3. Most things you do in this game do not feel epic at all. Look at his examples in the video.

    4. Too many bugs.

    5. Zone restrictions and bad phasing design are very annoying.

    6. Too much camping.

Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need.

    @Nanfoodl:

Could you please name what "all games" means? Checking out the SoE website, they list ...

    Everquest Next

    Everquest

    Everquest 2

    Planetside 2

    DC Universe Online

    Dragons Prophet

    - EQ Next and Landmark are not yet released and there is not much information about the future business model.

    - Everquest is an outdated game that still attracts some veterans. Can't say much about the business model and pay content.

    - Everquest 2 is outdated, too and as far as I know players may purchase high level avatars for real cash at a high price that is roundabout 50% of a half-year TESO subscription.

    - Planetside 2 is a FPS-MMO. It does not require the same amount of personell to develop it, because there is no theme park or anything else story driven included.

    - DC Universe Online. More or less outdated hero MMO that stands its ground due to a strong license and a great niche.

    - Dragons Prophet. In Germany it is a free-2-play game since its release. The game uses a old engine and looks not that good.  It offers special mounts that cost you quite some cash.

Oh, and the big change you are talking about is the All Access Pass. Pay 14.99.- and you may enjoy all these brand-new games at Premium-Account level. What a great deal ... got the irony?

What SoE is doing is establishing cooperations with big private TV-stations to dish out a tremendous amount of commercials in order to attract the very last potential customer that has not yet come in contact with online games. Smart move when it comes to business making.

    Landmark business plan:

    https://forums.station.sony.com/landmark/index.php?threads/the-business-of-eqn-landmark-revealed.22393/

But seeing as they are still in beta the model is subject to change.

100% F2P, you can buy some crafting resources with RL money, 100% access to everything.

    - Everquest is an outdated game that still attracts some veterans. Can't say much about the business model and pay content.

They still get a steady stream of new players each year. You cant keep a game going without new members.

    - Everquest 2 is outdated, too and as far as I know players may purchase high level avatars for real cash at a high price that is roundabout half of a half-year TESO subscription.

Far from outdated, MMOs are now only adding features its had for years like player made dungeons. It still has features some future MMOs are trying to add like player designed gear. Its cutting edge.

    - Planetside 2 is a FPS-MMO. It does not require the same amount of personell to develop it, because there is no theme park or anything else story driven included.

    - DC Universe Online. More or less outdated hero MMO that stands its ground due to a strong license and a great niche.

And still going strong with F2P.

    - Dragons Prophet. In Germany it is a free-2-play game since its release. The game uses a old engine and looks not that good.  It offers special mounts that cost you quite some cash.

You really dont know what you are talking about. I could go on but bashing F2P because some bad games have used and exploited this model does not make it a bad model. Im 100% sure ESO will be taking it on with how things are going. I say F2P in 8 months.

Without even watching the video, he is right. The game is doomed to fail.

I only not watch his video because he has to be the worst flip-flopping, unengaging reviewer on YouTube. He just wants to ride any train possible to make a quick dollar.

Thank you for linking the Landmark business plan, nightbird305.

The thing about Joe's review is not about convincing people who have already bought the game to change their mind or reconsider their purchase it is for people who have not yet bought the game. Anyone watching that video and he has presented it very well it shows the bugs in technicolor  and that is very compelling evidence of how horrible the grouping experience and bugs are. People watching and listening to him in all probability will not buy the game. That is the impact of his review.

Video evidence is very ,very persuasive you cannot escape that he shows clearly how bad the game is with the bugs. It does not matter how different you who are currently playing are experiencing the game his presentation will convince IMO anyone who is on the fence to not buy this game. Zenimax should be concerned because he has a following. Those of you who think that his opinion is rubbish go make a video and see how many people watch yours.

Now those very same people say his opinion means nothing and are attacking him.

And that's why his whole opinion is irrelevant.

The guy has gone from "it's horrible" to "it's awesome" to "it's not bad" to "it's very average and not great" finally. What's next? "Hey, some patches have come in, it's now awesome again!".

It's clear what the objective of AJ is here: controversy, money and viewers. This thread proves he is generating those in abundance.

It is most definitely not: an unbiased opinion illustrating the facts, an informative piece of media.

I can't blame Joe for wanting more money, controversy and negativity sells, far better than unbiased opinions and factual information.

I wonder how many of you take a similar stand for other forms of entertainment say movies or music for example.

Because i have feeling that the people who get so worked up over a review for a video game have on more than one ocassion relied on review of a product before spending their hard earned cash on it.

I for instance has no problem with reviews. They aren't meant to make you 'care' but serve as an opinion which could be on opposite spectrum of yours.

I have no problem with reviews, I'm just curious who it is and why we should care. Seems like a sensationalist based off of his track record that reviews more to get a rise out of people than actually play and review the game.

Am i the only one suprised Joe not only knows about Archeage, but that they have dual riding mounts? I always viewed Joe not as a big mmo player, but he definitely seems to know a few things more than expected. I wonder if he'll review it.

Once again..you are not suppossed to care. So there is no why.

And yes every reviewer has his own style and this is his. Just like how Roger Ebert had his own when it came to reviewing movies.

PVP is good? You probably didn't play it extensively then. PVP looks good, very good, but it doesn't play good. I wish it did. I'm rank pvp 11, played solo, grouped, lead raids, was lead, played everything there was to play with my character PVP-wise and Cyrodiil as a whole. I can look at it impartially for what it is and not for what I want it to be.

PVP has an amazing potential but unfortunately it needs so much work put into it to fix bugs and design flaws that makes me wonder if Zenimax actually plays their game before releasing crap like they did.

Even with all the flaws in PVP, if they just made the combat responsive it would already be a huge step in the right direction despite all the bugs, all the inconsistencies and overpowered abilities.

I believe ESO will be a good game someday but by no means its a good game in its actual state. Right now ESO is just good to do some questing, listen and read the stories it has to tell, crafting and sightseeing. Nothing more.

He is over the top, but he still makes valid points on some real facts. Why should we care? He is a real gamer, who runs a community of gamers who all play together. This is not some guy who plays beta and tells us its a good or bad game based off the 5 levels he was able to play. He really tested this game from one end to the other. Thats more then most reviewers do!!!!

One thing to note is that AJ uses the whole 1-10 scale whereas bigger companies seem to use 5-10 with 1-4 only being given to utterly broken games, if they can even be called games.

So far I agreed with pretty much all AJ reviews I viewed and the points brought forward in them and this is no exception.

Anyone can make youtube account and be a critic (well do it yourself then).

He has a moustache so his opinion is invalid.

    And so on....

    Did i miss anything?

Yeah you forgot ppl like him only exist thru personality association of halfwits unable to evaluate games and form their own opinion.

its true because its just plain not possible to change ones opinion when more information is available. Once its formed, that's it.

Sorry, don't think so. His original opinions were based on the limited information given to testers. The very reason why Zenimax chose to go with beta weekends hoping to hide as much about the game as possible so more people would buy it. And now because of that money grab, the thing released with a bunch of bugs that it shouldn't have, along with the bugs most MMOs release with alongside an unpolished middle and near end game from lack of feedback and testing.

Google "The Angry Army", they have a presence in many MMOs and online games and Joe plays alongside them in some of them.

First he hated it, then he liked it, than he was meh on it again.

I think he overly took away points from the game because of the Imperial thing and it seems like he knocked a few points off for no other reason than than it had a sub which is kind of funny since two years ago people like him where doing the same to F2P games.  I'm not saying nothing he said was without merit as some of it I do agree with but when you compare ESO to it's peers a score of 5 is just flat out wrong.

ESO is a game with many flaws but it also could have never been made as a F2P or even B2P game.  The realities of the F2P and B2P market wouldn't let a game like this be made and I think it's telling that the biggest F2P worlds we got like EQ2, Rift, and LOTR's where all designed and released as Sub games.  F2P gets us worlds like Neverwinter.

I'm not saying he didn't test it, I'm just saying I don't know him and don't care about his opinion personally. If people like him, cool good for him and his community as you said, but I'll formulate my own opinion on a game. He might even be right about most stuff for all I know, but as I said I prefer to experience things first hand.
