Can this mmo be ruined by carebears in the west?

Bunch of  insecure e-peeners, time to get out of your mommy's basement and discover that there is something out there outside, it is called Real Life.

Dont be afraid of us we will not destroy your precious game, but dont come crying later that the game shut down because no one wants to play, because careberas dont want to be ganked and moved on to another game with PVE servers.

Those of you that are older enough how many times you have seen PVPeers come to the PVE side creating threads and posts about joining the PVP servers because they are empty?

I could quote many times seeing this scene. So please grow up and mature and stop the insecurity, we are not going to come at night and steal your precious PVP helmet.

I actually prefer the angry ranters  to the ones trying, out of either ignorance or pure villainy, to downplay the PvP with claims that you don't ever have to PvP.

How practical is that, really, for longterm gameplay?  Not very, from what I've been reading, although I could be wrong.  The information really is confusing and contradictory, plus there is the possibility of having a farm in safe areas, yet no guarantee of it.

Trion can do what it wants with the game, and/or do what the original creators want.  And I'm fine with that.  But everyone who does not want to deal with non-consensual PvP needs to do their homework before dropping money on this one.

I think we PVE'ers should just group together.

I'm guessing the gankmeisters are looking for soft targets.

I'm not sure there will be more same-faction ganking in release, because players may be more concerned about the long-term implications of being pirate faction.

I dont know the reason for this, if is the lack of information about the game or some other thing i cant understand (e.g: a hope that developers dumb down the mmo and reduce or remove its risks), and this is particularly source of concern to the people that awaited AA for almost 4 years for what it is intended to be when announced: a fantasy sandbox AAA mmo inspired in UO.

In my opinion, AA will only do well here in the west if it keep itself as a "different" mmo, with risks X reward, social tools and meaningful pvp, since is it what many players are waiting for and cant find in the countless AAA linear themepark mmos that is around. The carebear crowd already have plenty of AAA mmos to play and is somewhat "unfair" they wanting a complete domination in the genre, with no even a crumb to the pvp crowd.

    1) Sandbox does not necessarily = pvp focused, nor does Themepark = Carebear..  FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME.

    2) Eve does just fine, and has done just fine for a decade, even though its a PVP sandbox with thousands upon thousands of people who never ever pvp.  In fact, a good hunk of the game's economy relies on these people.

    3) If you are seriously lamenting the idea that lots of people will want to play a game, then maybe you need a lesson on how these things work.  namely, the more people play, the more money trion makes, and therefore the more they can support your game.

    4) I bet you'd be surprised at how many folks fall in the middle of pvp'er and carebear.  I know that i myself fall in the middle, even though (as you can see by my games playing in my sig) i play primarily pvp sandbox games (like you, i am guessing)

    5) I agree with you 100% that there are lots of people out there that are waiting for the next gasme with meaningful pvp and sandbox elements.  but don't think AA is alone there.  You also have the repopulation, and camelot unchained coming out soon, both with decent to big followings, and even DF is getting better and better as the weeks go on.

    6) if this was a troll then i congratulate you and consider myself trolled :)

RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

This is a good idea for the more social gamers (I definitely do not want to have to group up just to wander around gathering mats but some might enjoy it).  But it will only work on the solo and small size gank squads.  From what I've been reading, there are some streamer guilds with ridiculous numbers.  If you go out every day into killzones with a group to ward off a handful of gankers, you'll end up drawing the attention of these guys.  Which for those who want to PvP will be great fun.  For everyone else, not so much.  And of course it won't solve the issue of trying to have a house or farm in a PvP area.

I wasn't under the impression the large guild streamers go inland for pointless same-faction griefing.

They seem to be more about scoring packs on the high seas and faction v. faction stuff.

Might work out good for the social PVE crowd then.  Until and unless the pirates get bored and look around for something else, in which case a traveling pack of players will be a very tasty target.

    No, no and NO

Trion, don't EVER listen to them who want to destroy this game and turn this sandbox into a safemode themepark.

    DON'T.

    JUST. DON'T.
