Based on the 30 plus page on their site I think they better worry about performance more then anything else. It's the main reason I have yet to pre-order the game.
With that said from what I have seen it looks to be most content filled MMO at launch in a long time. I hope I get to join in on the fun.

i had high hopes for this game, but when i played the betas it was just kinda flat, with forced humor and goofy cartoony dialog ,uninspired character models and just boring boring boring grindy quests, i have bought every other mmo in the past, so they will get my money eventually, but it will more than likely be 5 dollars by the time i decide to play wild star.
Holy [bleep] is this thread filled with people that "just don't get it!".
First off, let's just say that their stream cannot be (and honestly shouldn't have been) put into written words. Why? Because the context doesn't follow the transition.
A lot of the damned thing was tongue-in-cheek, cheeky, and all over-the-topexcitement for their game.
Although I do personally believe the statement about the best damned housing in the industry. They are the only ones to do mount customization (as far as I know). Their raids are bat-shit insane.
While it's clearly some PR going on for the game, it's also clear that these guys absolutely love what they do and the product they've made. This game is their baby and they enjoy playing it as much as making it. They're fun, energetic developers that love what they do. What's wrong with that? Nothing! Now stop over analyzing every tiny remark that comes out for product.
That's what's wrong with the industry: [bleep]bag community member that hold such high standards that they forget that video games are for [bleep]ing fun and entertainment! Wildstar is fun and entertaining, [in my opinion] more so than other games on the market and worth the $15 a month.
"We have the worst optimization for any PC spec, guaranteed!"
Really,
I never dipped below 75fps.
I dont know. I played in closed beta , and the game was running terrible. And my PC is capable of running GW2 on all settings maxed ( among other things)
People said its because rendering is still CPU instead GPU based , and it will change.
Now I see people are still complaining. So perhaps it was just another "its beta" coverup
i dont think there is anything wrong with them having faith in and being overly excited about their product, it shows passion... good on them for being so positive and over the top with the promoting just like they have been with game design.
Wanted to try the game out so I downloaded the OB client today and I can run games like Tera in full settings with my Nvidia GTX 670 3G and I must say it's the most unoptimized crap heap I've ever seen. I really loathe Wow and still my pandaren has more poly's in her face than a whole character in Wildstar. The fact that outside of actual animations the game looks barely better then wow and I get 15 Fps in combat if my settings are higher then low. They need to fix that UI because I still had fun and liked the game until I couldn't take the frame dips anymore. A month till launch really concerns me.

i also have 2 x EVGA GTX670 OC, which i recently replaced with 2 x radeon R9 290's, in either case, both in single card mode and SLi / Crossfire, i never dropped below 40fps even in built up areas, mind blowing frames not at all, playable definitely... i understand that people are having optimization issues, but after having a beta account since like august last year i can honestly say it gets better as time goes on... and just because i didnt get the issues doesnt mean you didnt experience them too, that being said there could be underlying issues on your end also to cause this, but i can honestly say with a single GTX670, i had over 40fps usually between 40 and 55, even during combat and in built up areas, i think i once had a drop to about 26 for like 3 seconds. So yes, there are some issues, but it is getting better, i logged in today with R9 290 and had over 50fps constantly for a good 5 hours.
edit - actually, i think i had a beta account since like may or june last year, august was about the time they were ending the testing phase to open up winter beta.
If you love space, you just can't seem to win in MMOs. After playing the open beta today (about 3 hours), I think I will check back with this one in a year or two once they dial this in. The graphics are a huge turn off for me (seriously I prefer Anarchy online over this cartoon stuff and that is 13 years old at least they have an excuse)

"This stream is for those who are fans of wildstar or who have never heard of it before"
Kind blows everything people said (even myself) out the water. If you had no interest in the game to begin with guess it seems the stream wasn't for you, which kind of puts those bullet points into perspective. Seems it's just hype for fans or curious people Just thought i would point that out.
Edit: will agree they need to get the optimization fixed or even fans won't even agree lol
"We have the worst optimization for any PC spec, guaranteed!"
+1. I have a great PC and shouldn't be playing on the lowest possible settings to just scrape above 60 FPS. 65 has been my MAX on LOWEST settings. I actually haven't played a game in a long time that couldn't be run on ULTRA. Terrible optimization. I am not not bothering with the game. Won't PRE order it, won't buy it and won't bother even "testing" it. I'm curious to know the specs of peoples RIGS to be running the game fine. Like the dude who hasnt gone under 75 fps.
They are optimising the game, have you guys really never experienced or understand when and how optimisation hAppens in mmorgs. Or did you jump on the whine train when this happened in gw2 too.
rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar
Jeez.. everyone getting all anal about the semantics and literal meaning. The devs are being cheeky.. just like the humour in the game. That's all it is.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
Too much graphics effects during combat especially during pvp. All the disco lights, flashing, telegraphs are seriously making my eyes blind. How can anyone stare at this for a prolong time? Its going to hurt yr eyes.

Elder Scrolls Online runs smoothly with a gajillion players on screen with vastly better graphics than WildStar.
God it's like someone walking into a paint factory and spotting the big vat filled with yellow and blue paint swirling together and they start screaming into the street it's not green!

Every good thing about WildStar is ruined by the fact that the game includes cash for gold pay 2 win, like a sleazy F2P.
CREDD, which they love to hype but never fully explain, boils down to buying in-game gold for cash. Something that is usually considered bannable cheating in most sub-based MMORPG, Carbine has turned into an additional revenue stream for themselves on top of the 15/mo sub and 60 box.
[mod edit]
Please pay attention where this does not allow you to get real (€) OUT of the game, just getting in-game stuff from another player for the value of a monthly sub.
I have buddies with a lot of time on their hands, what if they sell some in-game stuff to me for game-time, LEGALY, with the Devs getting the money and not some 3th party sweatshop slave master.
So what if a game company wants more revenue from a game, if done right that can actually work for both players and developers.
Steel and Iron guard me well, or else i'm doomed and damned to Hell!
I think cash for in-game currency is bad, but preferable to gold sellers. Lesser of two evils and all that. I don't have a better solution. Does it work for EvE?
Comments
Good for you! Plenty of others have problems! Me included! Their engine is horribly optimized and only Works for very specific configurations!
I can run every other game I have without problems. Yet Wildstar With their "stylized" Graphics I cannot get to perform no matter what.
It's a joke! Sorry.
It's OPEN BETA... You see that..."OPEN BETA"
And your point?

Meh.
The interface alone looks like someone vomited on the screen. So yeah nah.
