Yippie fun, spend your time being a farmer planting corn raising chickens for 12hrs to lose in 1 min, you're out seed and livestock costs, your game time and labor points. Jail for the thieves you say, click on their bloody foot prints, they go to trial go to jail for 10 min to a few hours max.
I think you posters saying it's fun to be ganked are full of bs and if not it will be fun a few times until it sinks in into your feeble mind it's more profitable to be a ganker. Huge flaw in the core of the game.
Of course the op posted a troll post, the mother of all troll posts..

Used to get the same feeling in the original Darkfall , it was super frustrating , but also super exhilarating too ! Risk vs reward and adrenaline rush .
In AA there is this token called Gilda Stars. So far they can only be earned from doing traderuns or camping traderunners. Imo the freedom of how you want to play the game is kinda being limited by this. Want a house? Get Gilda Stars!
Not correct. At least in Russian version the plans we get with gilda stars are tradable so we can get one with gold in AH. For exemple tractor plan was about 100g yesterday, speedboat normally around 60g, etc.

No one is forcing you farm or do trade runs. Go kill mobs for hours if that's your fun and than buy what you want from other players. You can buy pretty much anything on player market.

Is not much diferente in a friendly pve evoriment grinding the same instance for several days and that dam heroic piece of armor never drop to me
Not sure if the OP is a troll but i will bite anyway.
To me wasting 2 hours of game play with nothing to show is anathema.
The single and only reason i play RPG games is because you grow over time from a pleb to a powerful character with slow and steady progress over months and months.
To waste hours and hours just for some high level goose with ocd to take away all your progress is a complete waste of time IMHO.
It sounds like there are a few players that like that type of game but man i can't think of anything worse.
Come on man, there's about 6 billion games just like that out there. You're not bored of that already? The only difference you described between what you like and what the OP likes is that his version has risk and your version is just a meadow with sunshine, flowers, and teddybears.
You're progressing from a "pleb to a powerful character" in both, it just sounds like what you hate is risk. The risk is what adds the excitement and changing gameplay instead of just level, grind gear, wait for expansion, level, grind gear, repeat.

You missed my point entirely, why bother with any of that when you can steal it since it's the most profitable.

Yes it is, but someone need to make packs and make packs is fun for alot of ppl, its part of the craft in AA and is fun.
Everyone will steal a pack if they can in pvp zones, its part of the game, but for that you need to have a victim and be able to kill him, and sometimes is not that easy, because as soon you pick the pack you might be robed too befor get the reward

They call it challenging i guess. Sounds like a waste of my game time to me. Even though i don't like it and will never play it, I really believe we need to have a few more of these types of games for the pvper"s. That way pve focus games can focus on it without nerfing everything because pvper's complaining all the time. I hope it does well for the pvp crowd.
lol why I've stopped playing.
I travelled way out to the edge of nowhere, planted 200, 4 hour trees.
I sat there babysitting my grove for 3 hours and then server crashes.
Immediately log back in and all my trees are gone.
I told my guild seeya and have not logged back in since.
At least during alpha the game is not worth my effort.
So you illegally planted trees in unprotected land, somebody stole them and that made you quit? Why did you even bother buying the game i wonder.
See this is why i advise against buying into alpha unless 100% sure about what AA is; because if you are not informed you end up getting burned and go rage-troll in the forums.
We really don't need more rage-trolls; so really don't even get close to the 150$ pack unless you are 100% informed about what you are getting into.
The problem is, most people arent informed. And AA is a bait and switch game. It seems happy PvE land for a while, but in the end you must subject yourself to open world PvP to do anything worthwhile.
This game is for griefing asshats or people that dont mind griefing asshats.

AA is not a bait, its a game release in other regions for more then 2 years, lot of info around web so players can get inf about it. And for those who dont want to spend time looking for info just wait and try for free, its simple.
I very seldom gank in PVP games. However, this makes it seem like you can actually do some form of meaningful piracy with a crew of people (no I don't like EVE). Hmmm, maybe I will keep a closer eye on this one.

And this is why the "carebears" hate this type of server, cause of this immature attitude associated with forced pvp games. Just give me a server where you get the TEF system of pvp and not forced and I will give Trion my money.

Imagine wandering across a vast, virtual terrain--enjoying the sights and sounds as you venture over hills and through forests--yet simultaneously fearing unexpected interaction with others at every turn. It's just a totally different experience when you play a game with an active, heightened sense of awareness as opposed to passively pressing buttons and watching otherwise meaningless stuff happen. One can argue that it's about immersion too, as much as it is about the adrenaline rush. It's not your character that gets ganked, it's you.
What the OP experienced was a thrill in his eyes, not a waste of time as others might surmise. But you're right, if he's found himself a pastime that can give him that rush then all the more power to him.
Excellent response. You covered just about every sense/emotions when playing a game like this.
I haven't played it, but I hope to in the future.
Agreed, the passive button pushing for long periods of time in a completely controlled and predictable environment just doesn't hold my interest for long. Players need to impact gameplay unpredictably to keep things interesting. There are ways to do this without creating game worlds full of nothing but griefing.
I like the idea of the risk versus reward in this game.
It's not full loot like at least one person in this thread has implied.
You only lose a trade package which rewards you with being able to craft and build more, and possibly get a boat sunk in the process and the time it took.
There are more safe methods with less risk like using a fast boat with a small amount of trade package. You can also despawn boat and go invis if a large group is aproaching on high seas and you are worried about boat getting sunk.
There is also strength in numbers in this game. If you go with a large group, there is a better chance of fending off enemies or possibly being formidable enough to make them not want to engage you at all.
This sort of game also opens up the concepts of mercenaries/body guards. As trade ramps up and pirates patrol the waters, it may make sense for people to hire highly skilled combat experts to guard them during voyages.
The game is what you make of it and how deep you want to go is up to you.

What can you do to to take precautions for the next time?
I could see a reverse gank. Lure out the gankers, when they think they got you....but.......SURPRISE!
So like every pvp game it's ow pvp is mostly going to be about chasing down people doing pve and trying to kill them. No other game that's tried to base it's pvp around that has been able to keep the sheep in the game for the wolves to play with. How is this one any different ?
played the beta- been there done that enjoy yourselves ill give it a big pass.
archeage, blade&soul and all these cheap eastern games are all the same.
as soon as I see the names of every player above their heads and the question marks and exclamation marks above the npcs I run.
I will not be suckered.
Considering the exclamation points over npc heads a game breaker in a game like AA its extreme imo, but its the way you see things, your opinion, cant do nothing about it.
Ofc, your opinon lost alot credibility calling AA a cheap eastern game, like using the sentence "be there done that".
So like every pvp game it's ow pvp is mostly going to be about chasing down people doing pve and trying to kill them.
Go to a pvp hostile zone trying to deliver a pack for a higher reward insted of doing in a safe zone cant be considered PvE imo.
Semantics doesn't invalidate his point. If it's unfair, they will leave.
I don't see this as a case of semantics. There are safe zones to trade in, pve. There are unsafe zones to trade in, pvp. I don't see how fair/unfair plays into this.

I didnt quote DamonVile entire post, was only comment this sentence. Im not say is a invalid point, it will hapened to some ppl ofc, but the treath is about someone went to a PvP zone by is choise, get kill and lose the pack. If this is gank or griefing i dont know anymore what this words mean.

sheeps don`t do runs in war zones. they run save on mainland, risk free.
Wolves gang smaller wolves or getting ganged by bigger ones.

That sounds about as enjoyable as canal root surgery without anaesthetic.
But if you like that sort of "I got killed and lost all loot, boy do I feel good!" ..........then enjoy.
I love Battlefield 3 & 4. Am I good at that game? No. I get killed about 2 times more than I actually kill other people. I love that game even though I'm not very good at it, and I die a lot. True, I don't seem to "lose" anything when I die. Point is, dying can be fun, in a video game.
