I cancelled like 3 weeks ago. Not that its a bad game, but its just Im not getting into it. Maybe its me, my attention span or something sucks. Wildstar is not that great either imo.
Made it to level 11. Darkfall to no risk themepark is too big a jump. I enjoyed the gfx and the mouselook combat was kinda ok. The forced questing and dull universal loot tables were too boring. No risk means no reward. I didnt feel like I accomplished one thing in the game that was worthwhile. There was also a distinct lack of freedom that most recent themeparks have shared. I have no idea how oldschool mmoers could find any fun in this game (or any recent linear quest hub grinder). I thought mmos were about big dangerous virtual worlds...not hand holding boredom.
i didnt resubb ESO thought it got real bland real fast had 2 lvl 30+ and a 50 it was more like even playing a single player game alot...i downloaded wildstar yesterday and all i can do is smh that game is just like free realms or something i cant imagine what kind of people they are trying to draw in but w/e ...seems like a never ending pile of crap mmorpgs every 6 months with no end in sight
For good or bad, I saw what it had to offer during early, mid and late beta. Wasn't for me, and I warned some of my colleagues against it who have the same tastes as I. They now have buyer's remorse -- just so they could get the carrot on the stick play in any faction perk. Best move I've made in a long time when it comes to MMOs -- decided to wait six months after release just because I do enjoy the ES world, but had no faith in Zenimax to deliver a great game or act swiftly if game-breaking exploits arrived. It's not from incompetence, but just lack of experience, and the megaservers only exasperated the issue whereas past games could contain it more swiftly, meek out the cheaters and as a whole maintain a stable economy.
Though after watching streams, reading reviews and seeing the ratings of the game just plummet into oblivion (ES4 pun, lawl) on this site and many others, the only point I would try the released version and any improvements made thereof is if it goes free to play. Even then, the core of the game just isn't suiting my fancy and I have several other MMOs that I have a love/hate relationship with at the moment.
Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing). German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century. Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now). I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things). In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while. If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.
Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this. If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own. Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis. Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.
I don't have any of this hate for the game that's been going around, I just simply got tired of it... I'd consider coming back if the game improves in the future though.

Why? 90% of MMO "gamers" couldn't handle not having their hands held, a death penalty, an actual feeling of accomplishment other than unsubing and creating threads about it, dying period, and taking more than a few days or weeks to reach max level.
I've actually had people cry about ESO being to hard because they died in a dungeon once. Let's face it, "gamers" these days would rage quit a real MMO such as EQ back in its heyday. Oh wait, they already did over a decade ago and they got WoW and now we wonder where the "real" MMOs are.
Been on the Wildstar OB the last couple of days, so they sneaked it through while I wasn't watching but I am happy enough to play ESO just now, Wildstar isn't for me.
In a totally unscientific poll at work, of the 28 people that bought the game, 22 have not subbed once the free month was up (even tho the "free month" was only 28 days or whatever, Zeni tried to put one over on them).
This confuses me. Early Access started March 31st, the game came out on the 4th of April, and free access was extended to April 6th to make up for downtime. My subscription just ran out today, May 11th. By my count that's 42 days of free playing time. Five days early access, two day extension, and five day extension at the end of the month. I realize you aren't the one starting this type of misinformation, it's your co-workers, but I can't see this being correct.
As for the thread itself.. I cancelled, despite being one of the bigger fans at release and defending the game the first couple weeks. FWIW I still stand by what I said, certain complaints and criticisms just weren't fair in my mind. I simply don't see any re-play value in the game right now. I'll do one more month to finish off my VR levels (VR5 right now, haven't played a ton lately) and check out Craglorn and such. If it doesn't hold my interest it'll leave me no reason to play anymore.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Not me i am still going strong in ESO, i did cancel it for 2 days then resubbed and have been having a blast.
I am still playing AA but just getting a good feel of it then waiting for launch, since the alpha will be moved to the AA PTS.
I am trying my hardest to let WildStar hook me but i have not arrived at it yet.
I will see weather WS or ESO will tide me over but i fear that WS has little to hold me.

I got bored by the lackluster questing, repetitive dungeons and bots, and the lack of any dynamic world events or quests (other than Dark Anchors)
I figure I'll play Hearthstone and some other games until WS releases, then try that.
WS is open now if you would like to try it before wasting your cash ...but beware...
Renewed and staying.
Until - Camelot Unchained, Patherfinder or Black Desert.
Of course I try and play most, but only ever hold one sub at a time.
