Refund from Carbine?

JustARandomPandaJustARandomPanda Member Posts: 61

I pre-ordered Wildstar directly from Carbine which I now realize was a mistake. I've searched all over Carbine's website, FAQs, forums, etc for their billing support but have been unable to find anything.

Has anyone here been able to find where to go to get a refund from Carbine? Also...were you successful at getting it?

Playing Now: The Secret World, Guild Wars 2, Neverwinter

Playing soon: Landmark beta, Swordman beta

i was able to get a full refund by submitting a support ticket .

i then had to give them the email of the account , the last 4 digits of my CC and the order number along with a reason.

when you do this and they refund you your money your account will be banned afterwards

go to the offical site at top click support over to the right hand side says log in to create ticket :)

rule of thumb with NCsoft all their games end up free to play why pre order ?

history shows Aion ,Lineage 2   lets hope it doesnt end like city of heroes eh?

They have worked with other people in the past that pre-ordered the product. I haven't attempted to obtain a refund myself as I believe the game is more than worth my time and wallet; however, a close friend ordered a copy for his wife which he was able to e-mail the Carbine team about and obtain a refund within a few days.

Can someone link me to Carbine's actual customer support page? I've been hunting on their website for it but can't find it. When I click support it just takes me to assorted FAQs - none of which lead you to actual Customer Support to start the process for getting a refund.

I never quite understand how many people pre purchase a game and then cancel it. There's so much info out there and opportunities to try it before pulling the trigger.

You can say alot of things about Wildstar but that the animations are crap isn't one of those things.

I pre-ordered digital deluxe from GMG on the first week of May 2014. After Kripparian's review of the game dated may 15 or so, I decided to get a refund. I asked carbine's support regarding this, but they won't refund anything bought from a third party which is understandable. Then I asked for a Refund from GMG and they said they won't give me a refund because they already sent the key via email due to their policy. I blame GMG's refund policy and myself for not being aware of such. Oh well, might as well play the game and make it worth the while.

Refunds are for defective products or products that weren't as advertised. Carbine has laid it all out for you a long time ago... if you pre-ordered a game you didn't want, when you knew exactly what it was, you should just eat the loss. That's your fault.

I believe your sig describes the poster you are replying to.  Come on he demands a refund and it should be just handed to him.

    This^

There needs to be some accountability to the buyer, especially when things like Open beta are available. Pre-ordering before you try is no excuse.

The original dev's from WoW are working on this mmorpg since a lot of years now. It will be a success no matter what people say. But to what point that only time can tell.

In my view it will be big and if they keep there words and keep giving us updated content all the time as they said then i can't see it go F2P before a lot of years.

If you don't care about the game or company anymore, do a credit card charge back.  I have done this and have yet to not get a refund,  just be persistent and have a good reason.  Look though the agreement and try to find something to support you position, this helps a lot.

I never got why people can't figure out to contact support about this stuff rather then posting it on the forums here. Almost makes me think they are playing stupid in order to bash on a game they didn't really get... or they left common sense at the door and just threw money at something without knowing what it was they bought. XD

Support as EVERY SINGLE PRODUCT OUT THERE EVER BOUGHT ONLINE works great for refunds! Common sense is your friend. Unless they are refusing the refund or something of that nature, no reason at all to not use your noodle and contact them directly first.

And do NOT do a charge back. Its a scummy practice that hurts companies a lot. The only time it should ever be done is if you attempt for a refund is denied JUSTLY (aka, if you payed for it, then played it for so long (particularly game time) then its not a just reason at all).

To be fair, GMG has no way to facilitate a refund.  They cannot take the code you were given off of your NCSoft account, and have no way to to prevent you from re-entering it.  They would have to get the code invalidated from carbine and then get reassigned a new code to replace that one.  To much run around.

Carbine can do it because they have full access to your account and game codes, they can just make a new one.

Please tell me if we're on the same page. Are you saying that Carbine needed to invalidate my key code to be able to get a refund? If that's the case, I will ask them to invalidate it just so I could get a refund.

I didn't play the game. I just got hyped up for some reason, and in the fence after that. Kriparrian pushed me off the ledge hence why I wanted a refund.

Agreed. We just went through all this with ESO. Probably the same folks.

Get caught up in the hype, then see it is not what you thought, now I want a refund. Is it that hard to grasp?

Oh, I totally understand that. It is just an observation. Is that so hard to grasp?
