Meh, I just don't like cartoons and cartoony treadmills that have been done to death.
And I don't call themeparks hardcore, I get that in games like EvE or Darkfall,..
Mind you I can go play Hello Kitty Online, play it for 24/7 and say I'm a hardcore player, so much about the word hardcore.
Cartoons can't be hard core? Heh, must not have watched many growing up, a lot of them featured very adult situations and death. Did you know the Teenage mutant ninja turtles comic was originally VERY dark, splinter dies in the start of it, there is zombie ninjas and gore and death.
Yeah Cartoons are for kids, only kids would like things that have cartoons in them, because frankly I want to limit the scope of what I myself can enjoy, I don't want to allow myself to enjoy a broader experience in life, I'd rather just be judgey and narrow minded.

Cartoons can't be hard core?
What do you mean, I just told you Hello Kitty can be played hardcore if one so desires.
Same with Wildstar. But that doesn't mean the game alone is hardcore.
I'm calling themeparks by deffinition not hardcore. Or looking from the other side, if I take EvE or Darkfall for example, we can make it's art into Looney Toons and it would still be a hardcore game.
Hope these tips help solve the 1+1 equation I seem to write before.
You can call Wildstar many things. But describing it as hardcore is a bit weird. It is just as streamlined as a thema-park can get. This doesnt mean its bad, but its not hardcore^^

I would assume in order for that statement to have any credibility, you would have actually had to play Hello Kitty Online 24/7 otherwise you're just making shit up.

What does being streamlined have to do with being hardcore?
Like Bill said, these trends are typical. Any AAA labeled MMO gets this spike usually toward launch.
However, as a fan and someone who has put a lot of time into the game, I can confidently say it's a fantastic product with a lot of promise, as long as it is managed correctly post-launch.
Finally, I will say that WildStar has qualities about it that, when people only try the game for a very brief period of time, or not at all, fail to truly convey how great the game really is. The style and comedy approach can turn people away before it has even gotten a chance sometimes. I was in that camp a long time ago, until I got into game and realized it was so much more than that. For the record, even those qualities have grown on me immensely though.

How are Wildstar's veteran dungeons not hardcore?
I think I understand the issue here. For many, when the term "hardcore" is used, it indicates stuff like full looting of players, destruction of assets, permanent character loss, stuff of that nature. I agree the PVE content is hardcore in WildStar, particularly end-game, but it's being used in a different sense than some are used to, or agree with.
Hello there. I have just seen this chart goig viral on internet and im quite surprised.
I did not tried the game in beta so i cant make an opinion by myself and i need your help.
I love very difficult games and raiding (used to raid in wow wotlk and love it). I also like big pvp battles (2v2 3v3 5v5 is not my thing. I prefer Gw2 Wvw).
Do you guy think the game is for me ? Shoud i preorder? The fuck i dont know what to do since i cant try anymore
Do you guys know if there is a free trial like in World of Warcraft ? or some recruit a friend stuff?
halp
If you like difficult games, WoW is the opposite of what you want. That game was casual through and through, even the raiding.
The reason interest is spiking is because of open beta and a MASSIVE advertisement push.
If you want hard raiding, you need to try EQ, Vanguard, DAoC, and the like.
You can see the spike(s) from The Elder Scrolls online anouncements/launch. Wildstar should have somethign similar when it releases.
Note: I removed World of Warcraft, because it threw everything else out of scale.
I guess the guy just put " search by term" for every MMOS. Wildstar does not have a "online game" filter yet. So the only way to compare is going "search by term" for every mmos.
But i guess new charts ll pop out when wildstar will have the "online game" tag.
If you like, enjoy, and can play action MMOs, and you are a WoW Player looking where many of those who left WoW are going to, ....if you can answer "yes" to any of these.... Then yes you are missing it.
If you don't like action MMOs, or don't have the skill to play them (and many do not honestly), or if you don't "get along" with the WoW crowd (me), then I would advise you to stay away from WildStar.
Never have I seen a MMO with some much talk, reminiscing, and references to WoW as I have seen in chat and in forums of WildStar. It's like an exodus occurred and they found a new home. I'm not a "WoWite" and I felt so out of place in WildStar ( the community ) it was scary in a way.
Was playing, not anymore. Great game, in many ways a great community, I'm just not playing anymore... and I couldn't get the hang of all the dodging. (no I don't play console games and fps games, I play traditional mmos that don't have the dodging mechanic.) I also did not feel comfortable or really "welcome" there with all the talk about WoW this and WoW that. I don't blame them for reminiscing... I just now have a much better understanding what it must be like to be a MMO Player and not have played DAoC... I myself have talked about this MMO a bunch over the years and I bet others felt like I do now. You have my apologies if there are due.
So I would advise trying it out for a bit first before committing to it.
My opinion, for what's it worth. Wish them at Carbine and players of WildStar all the best.
Really? People comparing Ws to WoW a lot? Could be a good thing if it's WoW under Cocaine as the combat looks dynamic.
I remember when i tried TESO beta. Everybodoy was talking about WoW in chat. That was insane. Even if the game is soooo different. So i just hide the chat and did my thing ^^.
if you missed out on the open beta, which it sounds like you did.. well.. you missed a golden opportunity..
yes, it's totally FUN.. and it's totally IMMERSIVE..
nobody got to play the endgame in open beta, so we don't really know, but based on the polish of the game in open beta.. the options, the crafting, housing, etc and so on..

Dunno why people do this.
Players do this because they enjoyed the MMO they used to play... or they would not have played it for so long. To me perfectly understandable. I myself will not deny them their right to talk about WoW. "Birds of a Feather..."

Regarding the chart, Wildstar is peaking because it's in open beta and about to launch. The increase in internet activity is due to things such as people looking up cookie cutter builds, improving the game's performance, things of that nature. Once the newness and the honeymoon period dies down, it'll level out.
My fps while playing is really shitty, regardless of settings. My rig is fairly modern and has no problems with other games.
I really hope there is some optimization coming before release. I already get 10 fps just standing still, I can't imagine what it will be like with 1000 new players running around.
The people that don't like it are wussies and they aren't hardcore enough... that is all!
Meh, I just don't like cartoons and cartoony treadmills that have been done to death.

Why so serious? Do you even have fun being a gamer? Games make me happy!!!
As far as cartoon graphics. I think cartoon like graphics age well( look at wow), compose to games like Aion/Tera and etc... look aged over time. Yeah they looked good when they came out but now they look dated.
That argument is pointless as the cartoons already look dated and if you don't like them, aging doesn't apply in the first place. Both styles suffer from lack of new technologies that improve things like AA, Tesselation, shadows and textures, somthing every game has to deal with no matter their art style.
Knowing that I hated the old trinity system as much as I did, I had to to pop and buy this game. It just has that feel to it. I was stuck on GW2, telling myself over and over I would not buy another game. GW2 feed us so much content I was hooked, then with the end of LS1 and the China release, I felt like the free dope, the dope man was giving out cut me off. Smooth move Ncsoft ! You did it , you suckered me in !
Sorry A-net, you just took to long, that was you're own fault for cutting us off of content for months.
No worries though, I'll always play GW2, you just wont be getting much money out of me for many months, NCsoft will though
WildStar. So no loss I guess.
Now, bring on the WildStar ! Looking forward to playing the shart out of this game. And the devs are awesome, just hope they can handle this generation of entitled , spoon feed , basement dwelling forum warriors.

I dont get it either I can sum up my experiences in beta in one sentence;
"Runs like absolute crap on a beefy rig for no good reason...next!"
Ninja Scroll would make you think about cartoons in a different way,lol
Btw people are forgetting it was a beta, of course there is problems....
Hodor!

It's been long enough for the more ADD types to get bored with ESO.
Or people are just that excited to sub to a pay 2 win cash for gold sleazefest.
Premium MMORPGs do not feature built-in cheating via cash for gold pay 2 win. PLAY to win or don't play.

Figured it out it's ok

Part of the issue is that the search was done incorrectly. If we re-do it with the variables as games, rather than search terms, we see this:
