Seriously 3 second cool down on bash interrupt? Good luck interrupting the bosses spam big attacks. Nerf to talons, making it a small very small aoe? Good luck healers, I wont be able to keep contain on the trash mobs for you anymore. Super nerf to inhale? Really only 3 targets affected by a low damage aoe now? Again good luck with the trash mobs fellow party members. I guess this is the way to get out of holy trinity by just removing tanks? And before you get on me, no I am not currently in pvp was waiting to hit max rank. All these changes will make it impossible to tank in group content, good luck with the trials with no tanks.

add a nerf to werewolfs and the 2hded people and its just a PVP game now with bots controlling lv 1-50 and you will NEVER get to vet 1 again....let alone legitely to vet12

Maybe in pvp. But now, I will not be able to tank very well at all with these draconian PVP nerfs. They just killed tanking and made 1h & s useless (Im not talking about bash damage, but why use bash if you cant interrupt anymore?)

I used bash as one of my two stam using abilities on my 1h-shield sorc, I seriously hope they didn't make it so I can only bash once every 3 seconds.
And if it's only the interrupt that's on cooldown, how does that even make sense? Everyone else can interrupt at will, but not the guy with a shield?
The nerf applies to all weapons, but seriously who is tanking with a 2h? What if my group is in a boss battle with many targets, they all can use special attacks, and now I have to let attacks get cast/used because I will be on cooldown from bash/interupting one mob and unable to stop the next.

That was the problem. It was too good to not even take up a skill slot. People loaded their bars with magicka skills then used bash as high damage stamina dump.
the only thing op about DKS is their banners and any pvper with half a brain cell knows to dodge roll out of them. Sorc by far is just as OP as a dk if not more with escape bolts and highest dps of all the classes. Just because other classes are broken and unbalanced doesnt mean they are OP. Why not bring the classes all up to the same level of play as DKs and SORCS instead of nerfing them?
I been a pretty avid supporter of this game myself and still enjoy playing it but some of the moves this company makes really shows how amateur they are at best. This is starting to remind me of warhammer online all over again and DAOC which created the entire flavor of the month classes people roll to in recent games. Nerfing classes based around pvp is about as stupid as you can get as a game developer and its annoying as hell. I have a alt DK whom uses two handed as a main and not shield bash and even I think this nerf is retarded at best. Limit the damn damage of bash and stop with the destroying of the ability usefullness in pve. Glad they fixed the nightshade abilites though , but seriously all it was is fixes the class still has to utilize mage guild abilites to be effective in vet content so really its more of just a pass it off for another patch...
Not to impressed right now with the 1.1.2 patch notes and reading, some great things with it but some awful garbage nerfs for no reason to.

So it's good, so nerf it? Prove it was too good. It required a lot more point and gear investment, it earned it's strength, and if they want to nerf jewelry enhancement to it, fine.
FYI, I switched to bow, and I kill things faster, especially when they come in packs of 3. I still like to switch back to 1h-shield for tanking and at some point probably will do it for elites that aren't affected by snares. So if it truly was 'too good', then I'd still be using it instead of a bow, trust me. I don't use a bow for style points.

Why don't you elaborate how this fix effects you. I do not do much group pve atm, but I have done some.
Was keen on this game but when I saw the pvp side I knew to avoid it, it seemed clear to me they would focus on pvp more and when it comes to pve/pvp games the pve almost always suffers for the sake of "pvp balance".
Is too bad. Guess it is just one more reason to dislike zenimax the first being them trying to rip off the OR.

yeah the main issue though is dungeon tanks are not expected to pick up trash mobs and focus all taunts on bosses and let the dps clear the trash at least thats the idea from the devs comments on their own boards. I can see the dark talons nerf you can spam it with a warlock set on and pretty much do nothing else but block and kill packs of mobs. But the 3 second interrupt timer is kinda lame IMO, nerf the damage not the abilities usefulness. Also all the crying about DKs banners are hilarious here its like people here have no clue how to double tap or something. There is a video out now on YouTube showing a DK soloing an entire pack of about 12 players but he did nothing at all but block and keep his banner up and repop it because people would constantly stand in the circle hitting him over and over rebuilding up his ultimate. Thats just stupid players period no reason to nerf things over people who cannot comprehend mechanics.
This was something though I was worried about everytime large groups of players cry about something , ZEN heavy handed nerf things into the ground. This game is already starting to remind me of end game pvp/pve in world of warcraft and warhammer due to brain dead players who cant kill someone and go cry about it in a rage threatening to quit.
Not really man, because everything you did before you can do know, it just doesn't trivialize content (as much) whenever a DK is present.
DKs are still much stronger than the other classes. Prepare for nerfs to banner and dragon blood next.

Something tells me that it is not actually 3 seconds and it has more to do with the animation than a cooldown. We've heard people say 3 seconds and other scream that it's not. We'll see in a bit. If it is a hard 3 secs, yeah that would be kinda dumb.
The fact that PvE and PvP combat is so different is actually the greatest flaw to the trinity mechanics, it is close to impossible to find the right balance for both.
Kinda why I am tired of trinity, if you want PvP to work really well with trinity mechanics you need to have taunts working on other players in PvP as well as monsters but the problem is that it would be rather annoying.
2 different combat mechanics in the same game means a lot of problems like this. There have been similar threads about other games as long as I been in this forum (and probably been since the forum started). They nerf something for PvE or PvP and the other mechanics suffer making a class rather hopeless, or they buff it making the class OP.
no im just saying in general im not dissing you either your old school rants were funny. But you do need to look at the pve side of things here and not just the pvp side as I know you were hard core pvper in TSW also. Every knee jerk reaction in pvp has a pve issue it creates and thats what the OP is mad about not the pvp side. We got 12 man raids now and a heroic adventure group zone so they are obviously focusing not only on pvp but the pve side of things to so heavy handed nerfs will have consequences for sure in pve. I am an avid pvper to but I also actually enjoy the pve in this game quite a bit and would like to see a 50/50 split on content updates and I just do not want to see knee jerk reactions because people crying over pvp.
they did what you say on nagafen pvp in eq2 and you would have twink groups of like 4 and 5 shadowknights running around destroying entire groups of players because taunt would make you only attack the person taunting you. It was a cool feature for sure but it created a ton of issues in the end.
Warhammer had tanks done right IMO taunt someone they do 30% less damage to players and you could guard 1 other player and take their damage from them. It worked very well in premade groups but that game had collison detection also which made tanks in pvp very very useful.
No doubt man. I'm kinda embarrassed that I have only done a couple dungeons. I'm former world ranking WoW raider (resume material). At the same time, what ever it is that's destroying actual thinking players, it is sure to trivialize pve content aswell. I guess the key word is trivial though.
I dont play a DK I play a Nightblade so there is nothing big that hurts me personnally in this patch.
That said I am pretty much purely a PVE player, seeing the willingness of Zenimax to nerf abilites in PVE to achieve PVP balance is all i needed to know. Sub cancelled today.
I hope many others step up and do the same to send them a clear message.
It's the principle and where it all leads. Most of us have played games that have been ruined endless pvp based tweaking and left with crappy PVE as a result

Dude you ain't going to sell anyone who has ever used 1HD + Shield on the bash nerf being a bad thing in PVE or PVP. It was OP'd... good nerf.
