Lol. Well it is having a typical MMO launch. NCSoft authentication can't handle the load. Lol...

    This is true.

But we all know its not possible to recapture the first personal era of each one of us introduction to MMOs.

For me it was with Anarchy Online.

The star went ablaze a second time with WoW.

That was it though, never again that kind of emersion.

The one thing that I think nearly 100% of our first/favorite MMORPGs had in common - they were not new when we started them.  Try some of the "new-ish" MMORPGs, ones that have had time to get some extra polish.  Not all MMO's improve with time, but it does give more time for bugs to be ironed out, lore to be strengthened, and content to be added - all of which are things that affect how much I can enjoy an MMO.

My first experience was DAOC, yet my first real MMO addiction was SWG which I started from the beginning and played until the NGE, as well as a bit here and there after.

WHat I think the problem is is a large chunk of the gaming community thinks because it's 2014, 2013, 2012 etc.. we shouldn't still have common internet related issues, as well as software related issues we saw back in 2002-2003. Sadly this is wishful thinking. It's like expecting dial up to be better today because it's 2014. While the internet is faster and more stable than ever, it still works essentially the same way, like a tube, it's 2014 and tubes still get clogged.

I wasn't referencing the DDOS attack I don't even play Wildstar right now.  Just was perusing the forums and this persons post reminded me of how I feel searching through MMORPGs.
