No one put a gun to your head and forced you, it's all on you. Others who were reasonable and weren't desperate knew that the site would be bogged all to hell or that it was a very slim chance of getting a key decided to do more important RL things than hound this site the moment the keys were available.
I suppose it's Walmart's fault for not having an adequate supply of big screen TVs for every customer who wants it on Black Friday?
Originally posted by GwapoJosh I just checked on ebay.. Beta keys for this seem to be selling pretty damn well. I'm kinda surprised how much they sell for.
That explains everything.

I hope you have some kind of a system which will detect duplicate ips or very similar names/emails. I really hope the amount of bots and people who only enter these contest with the sole intent of selling these keys.

False many people are locked out of this content because it is a "sweepstakes" and falls under state gambling laws legalities.
i fail to see how a states gambling law can apply to something where money is not required to enter.are you perhaps misunderstanding sweepstakes for a raffle?
No I am not in the usa but in canada and sweepstakes go along with loto numbers and the like and we are thereby not allowed to enter. It the same with those hardware giveaway etc we see some times on this site. When it is just a giveaway where you just need an account here it's no problem but as as soon as it is a "sweepstake" where you need to give out real life id we are not eligible.
It's not really a big deal it just annoying for me over the years and not being able to participate in the nice "sweepstakes" etc especially when it's those win a xyz hardware ones lol
The drawing is only eligible to members of the MMORPG.COM Web site where such contests are not prohibited by law...
They have this line here because they know some places have laws which are more stringent when it comes to this.
For example, in order for sponsor to skip the "void in Quebec" restriction, Quebec sweepstakes law requires that the sponsors must do some or all of the following things:
Register the sweepstakes rules and all advertisements used to promote the contest with the Quebec government at least 30 days ahead of the sweepstake's launch.
Pay a fee of up to 10% of the sweepstakes' value, depending on who is allowed to enter.
Agree to allow the government of Quebec to mediate any lawsuits arising from the contest.
Follow strict guidelines about the contents of the sweepstakes rules.
Allow the Quebec government to determine if the sweepstakes may be changed or canceled once it has started.
File a written report after the contest has concluded, attesting that the prizes have been delivered or attempted to be delivered.
I personally like the part where you need to provide an ID matching your name and age on your account here. That way they can hopefully catch those who's made several accounts from the same IP and entered with them, and instead give out the keys to "real" members.

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
Well there won't be an open beta. There never are open beta's for World of Warcraft games.

MMORPG need to remove all entries made from any IP listed here https://check.torproject.org/exit-addresses (I'm sure I don't need to explain what Tor is?)
Further details including proof of the need to remove entries from Tor Exit-Node's has been mailed to site admins.

and here I used to think Canada was cool.
Just publish all keys in one .txt file on a site that can handle 3000 site queries (pastebin.com)
That way all keys will be actually redeemed instead of stolen by bots or sold to ebay
13374 constentans over 1000 beta key.. Not bad )
Good luck all!
I prefer buying them in advance WOD:
