I'm not sure, this can go either way.  If done well, it has a possibility of being EPIC.  If done poorly... well, not so epic.  Track records of other similar projects have proven the latter to be more likely.

I'm a fanatic of both the Firefly series and Serenity movie.  Personally, I feel that it was wrapped up very well and should be left alone, no games, no sequels, no spinoffs, no anything that would cheapen the memories of a great story.

Some things are just so damned good, that they need to be left alone.  Firefly is one of those things.

I'm just wondering but how does Unity limit the art style? Maybe I missunderstand what you mean by "art style" but don't you use other programs to create the textures and models? If you dont like how stuff looks then change the model and/or texture until you get the style you want to have.

Looks it to me. I sure as hell hope not.

If so it will be as popular as BSG and Game of Thrones online.

Unity is a very power engine for browser games.

You might not like the art-style or the direction they take it. This however can not be blamed to the limitiation of a browser based game.

In fact looking at this movie

It clearly show that whatever engine they use. It can create good looking graphics.

About the only thing the Unity engine is used for is kids in school fooling around with games.  Beyond that it is a huge POS.

No decent developer would ever attempt to use it due to it's many limitations.  The art style is highly limited by the Unity engine, it has nothing to do with it's being in a browser which itself is limiting.

This is very exciting news though! And I bet the actors are thrilled, since they all genuinely seemed to love the show and enjoyed working together.

The big question will be...quests and land exp or just flying and quests that way.

Watch and find out at some point in time.
