There are no refunds. SOE made that perfectly clear. That was only for alpha. Don't you think I tried to get a refund. lol

When they sell an incomplete product under the promises that what you buy is not only the instant access but eventually the fully finished product, in game perks and all that, they should be FORCED by law to give out a refund if asked before what you paid for is delivered completely. (or refund partially)

Not only because it is unfinished but also because it sometimes takes much longer then anticipated or promised, they change a lot of game mechanics that isnt always what you were first told when you bought it.

These compagnies are being so shady nowdays.

Say you pre order a nice sport car and they decide to change the model completely and send you a freaking utility car... Wouldnt that be a hell of a scam? Same thing going on here.

Everything they promised to offer is still being offered.   They are, therefore, not renegging on their offer.  Again, my cable company is charging me $120 per month for cable service.  They are offering new cable subscribers service for $29.95 per month for the same service I am getting.  Do I deserve a refund?  Its business.

There is a huge difference between a pre-order and pre-purchase. This purchase of packs gives you early access, while a regular pre-order gives you the product once its finished.

Like i said, compare this situation to any REAL LIFE situation where the goods arent digital but real items and they would get sued like mofos and would lose their compagny in no time i guaranty you that.

All of these compagny being so shady would close down in a minute, it would go on tv as a straight up scam.

Take rust for exemple that decided to completely re do their game many months ago. Do i like the new concept? Yes. Do i think its for the best?Yes. Do i want a refund? No but i believe anyone that wish to get refund should. Without a single doubt.

We support these games but compagnies need to respect their costumers and do what they first promised and stop trying to milk the sht out of everything they can. There are still good compagnies out there but all these alphas at 100+ ends up being shady.

The OP is absolutely right that it's ridiculous to see an early access game with a pledge-like design suddenly drop their founder's packs (typically considered a symbol of people who first had faith in the game) by 66%.

The OP paid full price just 2 weeks ago to support the game, and then gets screwed with a 66% off price drop. He is justified to be pissed.

I've personally stopped funding any game by SoE since the Star Wars NGE fiasco, so I already know that SoE is and always will be a corporate cash grab publisher, but I've got to feel bad for the younger generation getting suckered by SoE.

In both cases any game that you have pre ordered in the past were cancellable and refundable before it was delivered. I have never known a store that didnt cancel their pre purchase or pre order. Even games like ESO and Wildstar would refund after a week of time played if you werent happy with the game.

Now thats good compagnies right there, a complete difference to shady soe and trions. Thats why i am loyal to ESO right now, wildstar not my type.

I havent bought landmark so i could not know, i do have seen a lot of other compagnies selling alpha for insane amount and change completely. Say rust, rust was cheap but they remade it, for the best but still. Trion p2w cash shop and major game mechanics changed in 1.2 . Just look at star citizen with their insanely priced ships when the game is not even half complete..... Its ridiculous that you guys cant see whats going on.

Well the company release an early access product with fancy items that is live for more than 6 months now, you had the brilliant idea to buy that said product after 6 months it is available to purchase do you know that a lot of products when their sales decline normally all companies create a sale to sell that said product with discounts its not SOE fault that you only remembered to buy the founders pack 2 weeks ago, and... pls if you want exclusivity you can always join a golf club.
  • AztecAztec Member UncommonPosts: 101
You are right. I should have known better to even buy the game as soon as I knew 2 things: Cash Shop and Free to Play.

What item is that?  I am not trying to be flippant I am just really curious.  I was under the impression that the founders pack was predominantly about Alpha and Beta access.

Bracelet (gives you a better chance to create better magic weapons)  and Void Vault (place to store items).

Issue for me is the false advertising.

Just the title alone is false advertising.

Steam buyers are NOT founders, people who bought two weeks ago are NOT founders.

They sold this to us pre-alpha telling us that the " Founder's  " packs were limited and for a short time only.

That was a flat out lie and worse a crime.

I have now requested a refund as Smedley said we could have one any time before open beta.

If they refuse to process my refund I will be filing credit card fraud complaint as well as a criminal complaint with the Florida AG's office.

We have very good consumer protection laws here in Florida as Groupon and Paypal have both learned lately.

Further I have nothing against them selling a cheaper pack on steam, but it should be a new pack with much less value/items.

In other words, Aztec is not really a Founder?  Or perhaps just a "wannabe" Founder?

This is getting more interesting by the minute.

I did this after they took everquest off the name and changed it to landmark. I just informed them that purchased what I thought was a game in the Everquest franchise. They denied I told them I'd contact my credit card company and then they refunded me the next day.

I agree. I am no founder even though 100- says otherwise. Also Smedley said Alpha, not open beta:

so that will not work. I am going to chargeback my credit card tomm. I am just not sure what to say because I did authorize the charge.

If one is paying a substantial amount of money to help test a video game, then they have...or should have, enough money where something like this wouldn't matter to them.

Early access.  Given their target of a Winter 2014 release, that means anyone who buys into the founders pack now will get probably 4-6 months of beta time. Assuming that Winter is simply "open beta" and not "release", which could see people getting into the game even faster.

People pay for things when they're new, and pay more for it. If a brand new game was released and you pay $60 for it, thats to be expected. However, over time when people stop buying as much of it (Which is likely the case, as the founders packs have been out for over half a year now if I remember correctly?), the price is either reduced, or discounted in order to rev up sales once more. It sucks to pay $100 for something thats $33 on a sale...but theres little you can really do. SOE could either have kept its prices static, and just gotten no new players for the next 4-6 months after all the people interested in founders dried up, or did a sale to get a new batch of players, and renewed interest.

Yes, but 2 weeks and you lose 66%? That is a bit harsh. Some people paid 100- yesterday lol. So none of this is Sony's fault or bad timing on Sony's part and all those people complaining were not justified in their anger?

In "the real world" when people see that a store has discounted an item that they "just" purchased, they usually call/go to the store and ask for the refund. In many cases they get it.

    Just a thought.

So when the game went Open Beta, would the founders have been ripped off as well? All the founders went into it, knowing it was going to be a F2P game, and that the only real bonus they would get was 1. The couple items. And 2.

Why  is it particularly bad timing now?  There will always be people who "just bought it yesterday."
