You havent gotten to the point where you realize what you cant do yet. There is no land left for anything, you cannot farm, you cant build a house, a boat, own livestock, nothing. And unless you plan on buying gold, the AH prices for raw materials are far too high to get otherwise.
Why not a Boat? Public farms can grow tree's and cotton, anyone can mine iron. Not to mention stealing wood or cotton is not out of the question as well as illegally growing cotton, tree's too for that matter but tree's are very hard to hide. Mirage has plans for boats and gliders.
Houses don't have much space for farming, even player farms aren't overly large. I guess I don't see the problem, but Im given to overcoming challenges.

Same here. I will be joining tomorrow and I've accepted the fact that I won't be getting a house or farm. I'm fine with it. I will make do and have fun finding my way. I don't want anything handed to me. If it ain't mine, I don't want it. Just be advised, when I take it from you, it becomes mine. I've had a few girlfriends I acquired using this method and it worked out great
public gardens are all cram packed full too and you will need to be EXTREMELY lucky to find a plot, and the games not even live yet. once you take away the crafting element of the game, that gets rid of your ability to do trading, making your own gear etc. Again AH prices are far too high to afford for your average player, so you wont be able to go that route initially. So Archeage minus the crafting means youll be doing nothing but grinding quests til 50.
Yes Villainy is a real skill in the game, yep Ill be burning what labor I have opening coin purses to raise Villainy while lvling, thus reducing the chance to leave foot prints when Im about...being a villain.
I'll hit that public tree farm on the western continent growing 5 tree's getting my 40 - 50 wood a day there, per character, and stealing what people forgot to harvest, etc etc.
It's what Im really looking forward to.

And you people thought this game wasn't going to be packed at launch... this game is currently THE MOST POPULAR MMORPG on the planet.
More people... more people are coming.... you won't even be able to find a piece of land to stand on! Prepare! Prepare for the F2P content locusts... they are almost upon you! Pirates Ahoy!

Chances are you wont be able to utlize the public tree grove, I wandered around it for a couple of hours last night trying to find any wood, found 1 tree, the thing was packed to capcity and its not even live yet. as for larceny skill, well you realize theres thousands of other people lookin to steal stuff too. Not going to be easy from what ive been experiencing
I will be trying this out tomorrow and I don't plan on leaving any feedback about it until a week or more in. Also... Why do so many people care about genre titles like if it's a sandbox or themepark or not? Just shut up and play? If you don't like it, why comment? Go somewhere else? Geez lol MMO community has changed so much since 1999.

Because people are entitled to their opinions and a forum is the best place to do so.
The MMO community has definitely changed and that's a big reason for the dialogue. It's as if the devs deleted the "RPG" in MMORPG and replaced it with "ZERG"
