@jean-luc, it's true. None of my real life friends are going to play archeage so I don't care about that. I will meet new people in game. But to be honest if my real life friends did play mmos I am sure that they will all roll on a new server so that we can play together and we can all get land. If your friends don't want to reroll their several hours of playtime so that you can play together., well that's tough dude. When I am playing with real life friends we would go to great lengths to play together.

You don't have to justify why you want a refund to anyone if others don't like it tough, I mean just look at the slogan for AA. Whats left to claim?????????????
They screwed the pooch and others can continue to bury there heads in the sand all they want but it's not gonna change a thing Trion messed up simple as that........
Actually he does have to justify it . He didn't choose to keep it to himself he chose to come on here and make a forum thread about it on the day the game is released .
If he didn't want to justify it he should have kept the matter between him an Trion .
well as you can see here, several people have gotten refunds, while I wait for mine, all I did was post a reddit link I found about it. I figure if someone is unhappy about the game like I and obviously several others were, theyd read my post and see theres a chance they could get their money back if they wanted. I had no intention of running the gauntlet of internet rage.
People say that they get refunds at the start of every game . Its a common practice on this website as I proved with that link earlier . Actually no rage was intended against you but you can see my point .
Why would you spend 45 dollars on a game you were unsure of just to play it 4 days earlier . I don't know many people who would do that with a single player game without researching it a bit at first and if they did they certainly wouldn't take it back to the shop or contact steam because they didn't like the game .
Why should it be any different for an mmo . You brought the game you took your chances and you only had to wait 4 days to play for free first before you spent any money .
I doubt you or any other people who have done that will get your money back from Trion I'm sure plenty will come on here and say they have though .
I thought it was to somewhat guarantee they would get a decent place to put a house. A single player game you don't have to worry about that to much!
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

Don't forget, many mmorpg players form friendship through guilds over the years and go from game to game. There is more to just your real life friendship when bouncing to different servers. It's good to hear that you have friends that are that close to you that would do that though. /salute

There are plenty of places to put houses still so I don't know what you are talking about there .
Originally posted by fivoroth If you wanted land, you could've gotten it. I have never ever played archeage before. I bought a silverpack on Saturday. There were no land spots on the existing servers. Yesterday they opened 1 additional sever and I got a house and a farm next to each other in a very nice area near vendors and near the sea. And I had no idea how to do it as I have never played it before.
So if you wanted land you could've got a spot on one of the new servers.
Certainly, heres the crux though my friend. I got an email from an old guildie whom I played shadowbane with. I specifically went back to relive the glory days so to say. They were luckier than me in the land rush and leveld up really fast, trust me theyre not leaving and starting over so I can get land on a different server. So leaving my guild and friends behind to start solo in a team based game isnt what I had in mind.
Extra servers were great, dont get me wrong I hope people enjoy them, but in my situation it didnt help.
and I totally just said the same thing the Cap'n did, lol
He could have got land on the server he was playing on I bet . Although it may not have been land in the starter areas . He wont have got very far in the first few days 20-30 levels at most . I'm betting he didn't even get that far . Got fed up with not finding a spot and rage quit .
Are these guys close friends of yours then ? you do know you can share land and property with them . It actually has possitive advantages .

I think the complaints are perfectly legitimate. This launch has failed due almost entirely to Trion's inability to capacity plan. They knew the number of people that bought the game, and that would be likely logging in during early access, and paying customers were STILL sitting in queue for 2+ hours.
I've done early access with TERA and The Secret World. TERA was flawless. And although TSW had bugged quests, at least I could log in with friends and, you know, create characters and play for several hours before having an issue. Being unable to LOGIN and sitting in queue for HOURS?!?! This is a first.
Anything to do with land, more how the game is build even if you got to log in there still limited amount of land, I see people still complaining about that.
People have every right to ask there money back if there not happy about it, but for some not all, I been seeing people posting and complaining about they payed $150 just for head start? really? why pay $150 if just want to play head start there was cheaper packs if people wanted to do that.
But any how did trion mess up? yes on some stuff, but how the game is base off and how many people wanted to play people should of knowed not to go out a spend out there money like that for land or 4 day sooner then the free to play, I did with wild star, I got burn, friend got it worst with him getting hack there.

There have been several MMO launches with very long login queues. I think SWTOR and maybe Rift during launch week? Anyway, this isn't a first in MMO history.
@ Callidor
So was it specifically the lack of access during headstart and launch due to queues, inability to get land on the server you wanted, the founders/start pack debacle or something else that drove you away? All of the above? I'm not trolling you, just curious. I will be in the game as a F2P for now so mostly it has been forum drama, and I did have about an hour wait on one of the servers to login, but otherwise not as invested as you were. :-)
Queues are nothing new for trion. At rift launch I think wolfsbane had a queue of 20 hours once. I still havent even tried to login because of how bad ive been reading about it.
Playing: FFXIV, DnL, and World of Warships Waiting on: Ashes of Creation
I should have added that the game itself wasnt going to work... the areas are too small ... the portal system sucks , because it costs those stones... which are for sale on the cashshop... the player economy is horrible atm.
Its just very bad... and expensive (labour) to get anything of substance accomplished.

I put in for refund because of the queues
