I'm the kind of professional who works in a company that deals daily with non-professional users... you know, oral hygienists, car repairers, house wifes, etc... aka the majority of people, those who don't have a clue about viruses, malware, and how to keep your PC safe.
And I've even seen nerds who post here saying they know how to configure a PC and stay away from malware come back later with their account hacked and a keylogger on their computer.
My guess is that over 90% people owning a PC don't know enough about it to keep it safe. That goes from clicking random shit on the Internet to accepting and opening random emails with attachments. And for those people, the Microsoft "antivirus" is just not enough.
Haha, gotta love those emails with nekid pics of celebrities but with .exe extension and icon of a JPEG Yeah, you should totally click that
For what its worth though, being completely safe on your end doesn't guarantee you safety. Huge websites get hacked on daily basis. Username/Email/Password/Credit Cards leak on daily basis. The "darknet" sells those on the cheap nowadays because there are simply TOO MANY. Fun times.

First thing I tried when I had the issue the OP described, didn't fix it. Adding Glyph and AA as exceptions did fix it.
