Hopefully post patch today things improve - but I share your frustration.

I called my wife from work yesterday afternoon to log me into the game - we ate dinner - put kids to bed, by the time I was ready go play - I was already on character select.

Sometimes life just requires some extra planning - but yes queues suck.

Great, awesome for you.  I live alone.  Is your wife going to come over to my house and log me in, too?

"Hey, guys!  Everything is fine for me, I don't know what your complaining about."

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Can't think of a single aaa mmo launch which had worse launch. ESO was perfect. True they had bugs but at least I could play the damn game. AA is a glorified q simulator.

How the fuck do you know when your subscription started ? ......give it a rest until you have a clue about what is happening

It tells you when your sub ends on the character select screen.  Of course, mine is wrong because it says it ends on 17 Oct. when it should be 17 Dec.

I agree with you DMK. Shit happens, it's not ideal but it's not a perfect world, nobody is applauding the handling or issues, our choices are either to weather it out or not. Thankfully, for me, the game at the end of the issues is amazing and it's well worth the launch struggles that most games deal with. I get that for others this is not the case and don't knock anybody for their thoughts on this.

Trion has to walk an extremely fine line between current overpopulation and future underpopulation, without using things like phasing, instancing or overflow resources which would not suit this type of game at all. The things that makes this game so great are the very things that make it so difficult for Trion to rectify the current situation. There's no quick easy fix.

I don't envy Trion at all right now.

Your paraphrase is just about the exact opposite of what he actually said... he said he gets it, it sucks, it requires extra planning and it shouldn't, hopefully todays patch helps... how did you get to what you quoted out of that??

I will try, but it seems to me that you don't want anything explained - you just sound frustrated and need to vent - which is fine.

Alpha and Beta dragged on for what seemed like forever and you are telling me during all this time Trion took no steps or preparations to deal with afk'ers -all this time and no system was in place to boot people off the game.

It's XL's game - and yes XL has code to kick AFK folks from the game, this code has been in even in Korean beta years ago.

Something is wrong with it though - which today's patch should address with the patron queue fix.

You are telling me during all this time Trion had no clue that the Labour point system was a flawed one instead of rewarding LP when logged off it encourges people to clog up servers and stay on, NOT TO MENTION the incintive for Gold sellers.

Of course they knew - obviously somethings wrong with the code hence the patch today.

Dont even get me started on the land grab and flawed system in place for that.... And where is my advanced login for patron status that puts me ahead of free 2 players.... How have these major issues not been dealt with before launch FAIL TRION

It's not a flawed system - land is limited to force players to venture out into PvP areas because that's what the game is. If XL wanted to have a PvE game there would be miles and miles of zones full of 100% safe land areas without any PvP.

Obviously they didn't want that - they want to create contested resource, contested land - so players would have to go out of "safe" areas and PvP.

What the &^^%$% were all those months "testing " spent on ??? Dont tell me Locallization of the english language because 3/4 of the NPC still speak chinese.

First of all it's Korean, 2nd of all 3/4 = 75% speak Korean?  This is so wrong it's just not even worth considering.

O Thats right Trion needed to keep selling 150 dollar packs....

Honestly if this game wasn't so goddam good i would install and never buy another trion product again. The newness of the game is keeping me around, but at some point the frustration of a botched release will overcome desire to play.

There's a lot of frustration on game launches - yes sitting in AA queues for hours sucks - but so did sitting in queues for Aion, Rift - you name it.

Over time - things will steadily improve - servers are getting added, patron/afk bug fix...

    Is it frustrating?

Yes - but at least it looks like things are being addressed.

Should all of this been addressed prior to launch - in a perfect world - YES - but it didn't.

So now we have to deal with it - such is life.

At first I thought you were a Trion employee, but a business should have the attitude to please the customer - but your view after all that fanboy stuff is "so now we have to deal with it - such is life"  - so you just defend the indefensible and we have to be satisfied with a game that the majority can't get into without planning 5 hours in advance or playing at 3am?

You reduce your credibility defending the game because it's a joke.  If we were all here buying motor cars and they came without wheels - to come in the next 2-3 months, so we couldn't drive the cars right now, would you be saying "so now we have to deal with it - such is life"?

You really should take care not to go all in to support something that just can't be defended.

I find it funny cause the dev cant win no matter what they do in this situation, if they open up more servers to reduce queue times when the population drops in a month or so everyoen wil cry the servers are dead, if there are queues with full servers and all in game is great but people crying bout queues. They cant merge server sat a later date when queue drop off due to the land issue that will arrise with that so they curretnly have on option and that is to oncrease maximum load a server can take and that isnt an easy task i would think which will share its only problems.

The devs simply cant win if you remember back to WoW release it was exactly the same i remember queues of 12000+ on some servers and after a month or two they were pretty much all gone.

Not every game has 5 hour queues 10 days after launch, so there is obviously a happy medium that Trion are missing in relation to supply and demand for their game.

personally i'm perfectly satisfied with how the launch is going...

.then again i'm playing as a F2P and have absolutely no aspiration of getting a house or doing much crafting.....

    ....it's a great F2P game for me.

We have threads on the queues and launch problems already. No need to make new threads to basically discuss the exact same topics.
