Sad when perfect world has better support than Trion does.
I still have not received my founders items,
after more than 5 tickets ( them closing them as resolved or ignoring them all together )
36 + hours waiting in live chat over 4 days.
I finally got a CS rep, he confirmed I had never received my items and said he would have them to me in 30 minutes.
15 hours later I get a box with the wrong items.
I finally broke down and filed a complaint with the CA BBB sadly I am not the only one that has.
Because it was a pre-order made and paid for back in April my CC will not let me dispute the purchase.
With the 10's of thousands of customers that still have not received what they paid for, Trion's attitude, the lack of CS staff, I really feel there could be grounds for a major class action lawsuit.
I looked into the CA AG's consumer fraud website and it looks like CA is pretty hard on these companies for pulling crap like this.
Well done to you for not putting up with this fiasco!
I hate to sound this way, but I will say it anyways.
"The game is not meant for the masses". Especially folks that are very PvE centric.
I knew this about AA being a niche game, but to me honestly, I like it. It does have it's good points and bad points as well.
It is actually not THAT niche.
The pvp element in it can be mostly avoided if the said player doesn't like it.
It is a perfect crafter's game - crafted gears are waaaay above looted gears and items cannot be repaired, mainly crafting and primary production actually means something in this game.
Even the pvp zones on continents have peace times that allows no pvp if you want to wait it out.
It is far from hardcore pvp game imo.
First time I ever heard someone say 'not THAT niche".
It is a sandpark (I guess this is the term were using now) and you can play AA however way you want to play it, but the game itself is centralized around PvP.
You make the weapons for combat, the armor for combat, the boats for combat, you raise pets to be battle pets, you grow crops to make buffs, you craft homes to make all these things viable for itself. So yeah, you can say it's not PvP centric and ignore the PvP outside your home, but again, mostly everything here is crafted for combat and engagement.
Hardcore PvP, I get what your saying, but tell that to that guy or gal that's riding the mule or sailing the seas to avoid pirates and the opposite faction. It's simple - Red mans Dead in this game -
But red means dead in any game, anyways :P
I guess the production can be pvp centric but the production on the same token is also commerce centric and pvp is also for commerical gains, in many sense in this game.
So it is pvp, yes it is imo not that hardcore because it doesn't forces you to pvp everywhere, and the pve element is also quite expansive.
It seems to be a working mix I think... well if you remove the problem of the queue times.
oh, sorry, free to play. (which apparently means "not free" somehow).
some minor differences in others opinions about f2p - 2 versions i guess. One where you buy the game (pay) but its free to play and one where the game is free and the play is free. I could care less though - I dont play either version myself.
This game is free to play until you start spending more than $20 a month to progress at all in the game at a pace that makes it fun and rewarding.
The game is F2P, so they made the decision to only open new servers when population justifies it.
A much better decision than having tons of servers and eventually needing to close and merge. Plus, this way they will get to charge for character transfers ; )
The fact that the biggest complaint we are hearing about the game is the queue to log in is a positive thing. Most people I know enjoy the game once they actually get in.
i got it downloaded the first night. 8 hr wait before i got to 1000 in que.
the next night same thing. on the third night i made into the world. was only online for 5 min. before screen went blank.
the next 2 days the same problem with the ques.
folks do not put up with this and let you pocket book do the talking. stop you subscription and uninstall this game. if the publishers wants to treat the user as a heard of cows who do not know better, then stop giveing them money.
just stop you subscription and uninstall the game. i did and i will not look back.
I am going to guess you never opened your wallet and therefore not a patron. I haven't experienced queues high enough that I couldn't get in, and I am on a locked server=full.
I hate to sound this way, but I will say it anyways.

As you know the 'PvE' in this game can only take you so far, then what? You just going to keep on crafting for the 'PvE' fun of it?
The to be successful in the eyes of a 'PvP and 'PvE' player, you gotta have a healthy balance for both. The Repopulation may be onto something here for it's 'PvE' playerbase http://therepopulation.gamepedia.com/PVE

Well, from my first 5-6 hours of gameplay, I can't say I'm impressed. Archeage looks just like every other stereotype fantasy game out there, and especially looks like Tera, with the exception that AA doesn't even have action combat, where TERA does.
And then the Questing system: horrible. Kill 5 this, bring 5 that, run there.... What year are we? 2004?
It seems all AA really has is it's sandbox element, which apparently is something a normal F2P player won't be able to enjoy, solely because the game forces you to buy labor points in order to do anything other than fight. I would have been okay with them selling all sorts of stuff through their store, such as pre-made buildings, special decorations, special mounts (cosmetic), outfits etc, but LIMITING players in actually playing the game because they need labor points? That's a hidden subscription game right there..
Hell i uninstalled when i walked 10 feet forward and saw a Giant Yellow !
Thats my new rule for MMOs and it has saved me some money let me tell you. when i log on if i see ! uninstall, been there done that a million times.
LOL! Imma steal that rule! ROFL
Not so funny anymore, this has been my rule for a while now,i no longer accept such pitiful hand holding. They took it even one step further and added the arrows on the ground,i was like are you frigging serious.
IO played FFXI for MANY years ,over 10 and not one hand holding idea, none of those yellow markers to tell you where to go and how to play.I play a game right now Gorgon and again no hand holding ,i love it.
IDK who's idea it was to turn this into such a hand holding game but i don't like it.
AA imo had massive potential, just a few bad ideas took this game in the wrong direction, hand holding, linear questing and pvp to name a few.Well LP is only bad because is tied into cash shop and is tied into too many areas.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Actually may adopt this one myself. +1
Yeah i thought that was a good move; but guess what not all games are about quests. Played gw2 with no ! amazing game till 80 then boring as f**...played AA till 50 boring quests but amazing game. Surprisingly enough i had the same experience with WoW, crap quests but great game (didn't play after TBC).
Moral of the story i'd rather have crap quests and a great game, then no quests and a crap game.
