The loyalty thing simply boosts subscription as people like to feel they're getting something extra for long term subscribing.

Not me, the subscription model is a very strong point ...

however, i must admit, that its easier to return to so called f2p games...  You just log in and are playing again, and getting a subscription from there is much easier.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

    I'm right there with you.

There's no logical reason that level-headed people would want that for a MMO.  My theory is that a part of those people just refuse to see the long-term implications of such a change, regardless of the fact that we have plenty of examples in other games that have done so.  As for the other part of that crowd, I just see them as the locusts that take advantage of a "F2P" game as content locusts that only stay for a brief period.

Either way, going F2P these days isn't a good thing for anyone.  There have been people wanting it (and other games) to go F2P since the beginning.  These aren't long-term players that would support the game (for the most part, there are always exceptions).  So why would any logical person feel this would be a good move?

And as to the source of this "information", it's already been said multiple times in this thread.  It's bogus BS to get clicks on their site.

Yeah, I doubt many ESO subscribers would like to see it go F2P.

I don't want to see RNG boxes that offer a 0.1 to 1% chance to drop some unique item people will end up paying ridiculous amounts to get. The kind of thing PWE and Trion do, it's vile and unethical in my view.

Instead of sitting around waiting for Elder Scrolls online to go F2P why don't you spend that time better preparing yourself for the job market.  Obviously paying a sub for a game doesn't fit into your current economic plan so why look to  Zenimax to solve your problems?

Generally how things like this work in life is that if you want to do something you cant afford you don't petition the company to make it cheaper or free so YOU can participate; you  spur yourself to bettering your life financially so you can do the things you want to do with your spare time.

But how anyone other than a child, the unemployed or someone living on minimum wage trying to support a family, or someone maybe working their way through college where the choice is a school book or a computer game, cant afford a sub for a game they OBVIOUOSLY want to play is beyond me.

Unless of course you want to play 15 different games at the same time, then there is another problem to speak of.
