what you linked was a single person spamming buttons running around like a headless chicken, that's not an MMO, that's something consoles do, and do better
I wonder if pepole still understand the difference between MMO and single player action games sometimes, many MMO aren't MMO but action games.

If people are looking for great single player game action combat, why not just play consoles then, they're far better at it.
Great video. Most players, though, will think, "How b-o-r-i-n-g! Nobody is running around doing cartwheels and backflips! WTF?"

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse. - FARGIN_WAR

Originally posted by Viper482 I always thought the combat was overrated personally, once you figure out the pattern of attacks you just dodge accordingly as you would in an 80's arcade game. Just looks better.
But thats kind of the point isnt it? Figure out the pattern of attacks...look for the small tells that the mob might give, such as slightly lifting his right for in prep for a big swing or something. In other games...do you really learn pattern of attacks, or even need to?
That's fine, still overrated imo because I just don't like arcade type games where it is all about the dodging/rolling stuff. I hated Wildstar for this reason alone. I don't play MMO's for this type of gameplay.
You do realize this is just MY opinion right? Not saying it is overrated for you...just for me.
