ESO is a joke. A kiddies version of an Elder Scrolls game with juvenile storylines and repetitive quests and the combat is lacklustre.

    Skyrim wins, no doubt.

But I would get ESO if it were B2P like Secret World/ Guild Wars 2

I don't think any comparison of ESO vs. Skyrim visual is complete without this:

And even with the obviously superior ESO "visual" above, I'm sure there will one or two who prefer the deformed Altmer with the huge heads..

If you want to examine the texture quality of a rock or rendering distance, the SP game with no latency or concurrent users on screen considerations should win every single time.

That the visual comparison between Skyrim and ESO is debatable at all is a testament to how incredibly good ESO looks as an MMO.

Visually, the Skyrim Altmer (right) looks better to me.  Why?  Because the TES:O Altmer (left) looks like a human with pointy ears.  So what?  Spock looks the same and he is V ulcan.

The Skyrim Altmer has character.  It may not look like a "pretty Tolkien elf", but this is not Middle Earth, but rather Tamriel.

Of course, this is just my opinion :)

OT: Skyrim is all around better then TES:O for me, but like DMKano said, Morrowind was the best TES game I have yet played.  TES:O sacrificed too much of the "TES feel" for the MMO aspect for my tastes.

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

    Same for me.
Skyrim = Over 2000 hours thus far.
    TES:O = Less then 100 (in beta).

It will be interesting to see how many players stick with TES:O for over 2000 :)

Morrowind is the first game that ever made me feel like I was actually part of a foreign world. There hasn't been a game like that for me since, sRPG or MMORPG. Skyrim and ESO are just games to me. Morrowind was an adventure.
    Well said and I agree.

I understand why many players dislike Morrowind. That's cool. Different strokes and all that. What most players dislike, I happen to enjoy :)

Never bothered with Elder Scrolls after looking at the development team I was not impressed.  Reading the many threads on this game reinforced my initial feelings.

Anyways interesting tidbit on this game.  All the stores are being told to return all copies of ESO immediately.  This is not a stock reduction it is a complete return on all of the stock.  A very good indicator that this game will go free-to-play soon, probably by late February or March.

So if you were waiting to try the game without paying subscription I suspect you will soon get your chance.
