Was it not just yesterday they were still in the process of contacting all their outlets to remove copies? So it takes time and yes it will happen,i think at this point there is no doubt.IMO they are not only still finishing contacts maybe tomorrow this happens and they need to make sure their press speech sounds like the President ,all politically correct and such.I can't wait to here how they cover up their lies ,i am sure this will be a butter up to fans, like "we love you so much, that is why we offer this great product to you " "we wan to give more choice" "we want to open the game up to more people".
There is ONLY one reason ever for a business decision>>>profit, they couldn't care less about any individual gamer, they don't even know you.
It's very bitter of you that you'd take joy in that.
This would seem like a good thing for this game. I know more people would come back to it. Heck if it can work for GW2 it sure as heck can work for ESO.
I hope it does go B2P with a cash shop for aesthetics only sort of deal. Similar to GW2(minus the leveling boosts, since XP has relevance in end game).
This way I can keep my sub to WoW and raid...get my endgame fill there, but spend the majority of my gaming time traversing tamriel.
There was a huge discussion on this board last week in response for that post. I'm an ESO player myself and about to report any future F2P troll. That's why I'm waiting for this "news" Trolling was kind of insane imo and hating on ESO was completely irrational.
That thread was made late friday night to play throughout the weekend with no moderation. It was locked monday morning for trolling.
It was locked down for trolling that occurred inside the thread - not for my post.
Just to be clear.
Again just treat it as a rumor and speculation for now - after the official announcement from ZoS it will become fact.
That's not that hard to do is it?
It is hard to do. The reason being is that trolls for years have been making rumors saying "I have a friend", or "someone told me". A lot of those trolls even make multiple accounts to stir the pot. You were caught making multiple accounts concerning Arche Age. So again yes, it is hard to do.
One year is nothign in terms of changes to monetization and paying models.
Hey DMKano, you promised that we PC gamers who previously purchased the game would be "very happy" or something to that effect.
I don't care if it goes B2P, but if it turns out that I would be able to try the game again without having to pony up any additional bucks that might be of interest, just to see the changes to the skill systems.

Well that's no guarantee either. Anet has proven themselves capable of making a quality, successful game with excellent WvW and breaking the mold with most of the typical MMO mechanics/features. TSW has also which is why it's still doing OK as well. ESO is kind of the run of the mill MMO if you look at the nuts and bolts of it. Sure they mostly, but not completely, steered away from quest hubs. Their character progression and variety is decent, though still not at the level of other Elder Scrolls games. Their PVP doesn't seem to be that popular either according to esostats.com. But they still have the gear treadmill, powercreep and linear questing. However, if they keep putting in Elder Scrolls features and keep their cash shop from being pay to win, then they might have a chance for some longevity. At least until the next real Elder Scrolls game comes out. *duck and rolls*

ESO's WvW is superior to gw2's in every possible way.

It is a matter of opinion.
You couldn't even see all the enemies on the WvW map in gw2 for the first year of release. That's a terrible design choice.
To me, it seems like it would have a lot more success as a b2p game with cash shop vs p2p. I dont really care if its having "success" now, I just think it would be better.

Past tense. The reason you couldn't see all of the enemies was to keep low-end computers from melting due to the large amounts of activity, particle effects, animation, etc.. Once they figured out how to lower the resource cost to allow more and faster rendering it became a non-issue (again, past tense). The reason you don't see many people in ESO's PVP becuase not many are interested. And ESO's superior? Lol, their trebuchets barely fire farther than a catapult. In GW2 you need people to act as spotters to direct fire due to the massive range they have. Even a GW2 Motar's minimum range is twice as far as any ESO siege engine.
Hey, don't ruin another perfectly good rumor thread with another GW2 vs. ESO cat fight,
Stop it or you'll have to go to your forums.

My problem with this is that there is no source to link this info. For all we know, Kano is just feeding the rumor mill that has been building since before the game's launch speculating when this game will go f2p or b2p.
A "friend" who works at ZOS is not enough, I'm sorry. Can you name this friend? Or is this another of your many "friends" working over at Trion, ZOS, and w/e other gaming company you seem to have amassed friends at.
The last time I put faith in Kano's word was where he said Wildstar could not support megaserver technology. He was dead wrong. He has also shown to be extremely biased against SWTOR, ESO. And yet he defends Archeage to no end (e.g. 'labor system is genius'; 'monetization of the game is something every other studio will copy', etc).
So forgive me if I take pretty much everything he says with a large grain of salt.

ESO is going B2P - this you can take to the bank - 100% certain of this as I wouldnt have made the thread otherwise.
The reason why - console launch would go very badly with subscriptions, so they will switch to B2P model.
All of you calling me names now are going to be eating those words soon - I will be looking forward to your apologies
So now your hunch is based on "consolers don't like subs" I thought you had a friend who told you what was going on?
Well more of a friend of a friend that worked at a fast food place and took the order from someone that works at Zenimax. It was hard but the friends friend was able to pierce that code that a double meat with cheese hold the pickles actually ment ESO is going B2P this week.
Evidently Kano has been wildly wrong before so I'll give him his 2 more days for the "HUGE" B2P news to be announced.
Hell he's a AA fan so he has to make up these threads to keep from getting bored

Honestly, I do too. I'd buy it on PS4 in a heartbeat. I played it on PC but I'm so tired of sitting in front of a computer.
Taking your word for it.
I'm not overly interested in this title but currently it's 13€ on amazon, which seems like a b2p price where I can't go wrong.
It's very bitter of you that you'd take joy in that.
Love B2P model.
I'm still loving GW2!
If this happens, I'm all over it!

Well you do have two more whole days for this news to hit as you did say it would be this week. and its already Thursday.
This would actually be better than it going f2p. Hope this turns out to be true as I might then give the game a spin.
