I am excited that it feels like ESO 2.0 is coming not that it gets F2p. People need a to get a freaking job and stop asking for free games instead of being happy that MORE FREE GAMES ARE COMING.
Honestly, i love what FFXIV's Yoshida has done with the game...and i hope he wont make the game F2P so not all the beggars will get to play a masterpiece game.
I want to be excited about it...and then another thread here reminded me about no AH, not even a decent regional one. I remember the game pushing my character to alternate story lines of other races. That's two steps back for me.
The game is not fundamentally changing, only the community is.
I find the guild stores work perfectly fine. It puts the power of selling and promotion in the hands of the players. You can also visit guild merchants throughout the land.
Global auction houses were the first step to ruining community. I applaud ZOS for trying something different.
More community ruining than dropping a subscription barrier? I guess we'll see, eh? I'm all about trying something different. Not so much about making a game a more difficult proposition of my time.
I only like different when it's better... otherwise is just... different. I've never been a fan of the guild-store kiosk auction system that lets the big trading guilds monopolize the system... just like I've never been a fan of the multi cross-faction guild membership shit that undermines player commitment to their guild... another "different but not better" feature.

Not really excited, but I will at least log back in and see what has changed and what hasn't.
Good games are good and bad games are bad, based on your own personal opinion of said game. Sub vs no-sub normally is not a deal breaker. I honestly see myself playing this for a day and realizing why I quit playing to begin with.
i'm exited for 1.6 and that's what i have been waiting for before i come back. currently i am having fun in another mmo so i don't know when i will come back but i definitely will eventually
There is a lot to come back for and with 1.6 there will be even more. The Justice System will be in phase 1 with hopefully the intro to the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood on its way soon (?). Animation changes and the Champion System intro.
I have been playing on and off over the last few months and even right now it is fun to play.
i played through the whole 3 continent's story mission in 2 months after it's release, and then i think i quit the game 4 / 5 months after release, i remember i used to have fun but because most of my guild mates started to leave the game, so did i,
not to say that i am super excited, but like most people here, since i purchased the game initially, there's no reason for me not to come back and see how i will enjoy it with the new patch.
to be honest, i almost forgot everything there is to the game, it's been like almost a year since i played it back
Originally posted by kitarad I am playing it so no. I do not need to have the sub removed to play. We should support the games we like not based on what their payment system is.
This is not a free game for anyone, everyone playing it is supporting the company. You are just paying for some extra perks so let's take the holier than thou stuff down a notch please..

Another one lol. This is not a free to play game, you have to BUY it. I spend more on GW2 store per month than you do on your ESO sub, and will likely do the same for ESO. So let's stop this nonsense talk about cheapskates. Buy to play is great, free to play not so much. There is a difference.
I've bought the game the other day. Beta didn't impress me, but I decided to give it a try now, after the business model conversion.
I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I intend to play it as a single player TES game, since the game doesn't seem to cater to my preferences in other aspects (I prefer instanced PVP and open world group PVE quests).
I thought I might be interested in checking it out again, but I had a chance to play on my friends account last weekend while home sitting. After playing for a 1/2 day or so, I remembered why I felt the game and why it didn't appeal to me. I hope others have a better experience if they return, but this game is missing something for me.

So excited I cancelled my subscription.
NO ava development = no subscription money from me.

So far so good. Money well spent.
