Ugh sounds like a pain. Sorry to hear that. I really dislike their account management interface... Or lack thereof I should say.
It is one of the most convoluted account management setups I've ever experienced.
The fact that you need to use mogstation (which is not listed anywhere or linked anywhere in the client) is just seriously messed up
I wasted 2 hours trying to setup my account before someone told to not use SEs site or final fantasy site - but mogstation.
SE needs to take a look at Blizzard, SoE/daybreak, Trion etc.... clear and SIMPLE account setup.
Hopefully you got that sorted out thereafter. Yeah, it's not a great system. Mogstation itself is pretty easy to understand, but most people just go straight to their website and don't know what a "Mogstation" is when they see the button.
This was at launch - so long time ago - I was completely new to Final Fantasy - was my first FF game - I had no clue wtf mogstation was at all - it wasn't mentioned or explained any where.
if it weren't for the community here I would have probably given up - but someone here made a detailed step by step account setup process that I followed.
Never before have I felt so damn inadequate at such a simple task - was very aggravating.

I felt the same way before when I was having issues with their system. However I understand why its a pain, partly because they are switching systems and another part because they think everyone has an IQ of 200 lol.
End of day 4. I got another email this morning, this being the 3rd exact same one, the says they will contact me within 2 days of me submitting the ticket. Again, I just post this as an update. Not trying to hate or anything.

I pre-ordered the game and everything, I still have all that info, my purchase numbers, pre-order numbers, everything. However, after seeing their stand on staying sub only, I wanted to check it out again.
Here is the dilemma. I go to download the game again, and they say there is no email registered on their site that matches mine. I found my old username it is says that the account has been canceled. I still get updates to my email about the game and everything asking me to come back and all. So I'm confused about why my account was canceled and why it's taking so long to try and get it all fixed?
Anyone else have this problem? I'm trying to be patient, but two days have passed, this being the third day waiting for their response.

Simply gave up on ever hearing from them tbh. So my advise, just keep haunting them, phone them if needed. If the first person brushes you off or can not help you, just call again! You may find the next employee in a better mood or simply knows more (this is a good tip anyway when phoning a company. Just try again with a different employee).
HOWEVER also note that they told me that looking into my case could take up to 6 weeks in the first place. If they did not give you any indication regarding this just use the support chat and try to get a estimate.

Sorry but if you got a virus on your PC which it sounds like you did then its your own fault. Buy McAfee mcafee total protection, get yourself the FFXIV Authenticator and you will not have an issue.
Also if I was in your position I would just re-buy the game when the All in One pack comes out on the 16th. You will be able to buy the Expansion and ARR for 1 price. I am thinking that with the Xpac being $40 and maybe you will get ARR for $10 thats not too bad. Saves you time and a headache.

I had the same problem with missing authenticator and emergency password, and through live chat they unlocked my account right away although i had bought the game again before i decided to go to live chat (not a big deal since my two games together didnt even make one full price game).
Anyway, if you mistakenly cancelled your account then thats going to be a bit more complicated. I still dont know how they could make such a complicated account management site.... Only NCSOFT surpass them with such confusing and counter intuitive account sites.

Yeah, my wife keeps our budget, we are very strict. I actually already went over my budget (Thanks Steam sales), but can't really stomach my other MMO's atm so transfering my sub to another game is okay, but spending an extra $40.... you know how it is obviously hehe.

Today the email I got was actually the helpful one. I will call tomorrow. I got the email once the call center had already closed. Excited now lol.
I am not sure who designed their account management system but it's horrible. I didn't even realise there was an option to cancel your account. Why would they even give you that option? I need to be more careful in the future when I come back to the game to make sure I don't cancel my account instead of sub.

Its Japanese thinking everyone has a 200 IQ score. They dont realize we make some of the simplest of mistakes. I am an IT guy and I find their system a pain in the ass. I will give them props on quality.

Yeah, I'm on hold now waiting for the next Rep. Been waiting 37 mins now, but hopefully I can get this taken care of. I'm not normally someone who goes to this much trouble for stuff like this, but every once in awhile I get a task or something on my mind and I can't get it out until I finish it. Yeah, I'm sure I'll spend some time here though regardless if it knocks my socks off or not. There are very few games that I have a soft spot for and the FF series is one of them. My first was FFIII, and I had played everyone since. I didn't like the last few very much, but I love the world. I'm sure I'll get some enjoyment out of this.

Much appreciated. I didn't know a few of my RL friends have a guild on Behemoth so I think i'll try there first. Haven't been able to create a toon there, but I'll keep trying. If I can't get in by tomorrow, I'll go to Siren.
I feel your pain OP as i have had to take the calling them route.I also had to wait a very long time as well when calling.The sad part is this is the BEST way of support ,a COSTLY one,since you will get actual English speaking reps and ones as you mentioned that are helpful.
They should have a MUCH better support system,as not everyone has unlimited long distance calling,nor do we want to sit on hold for 30-60 minutes.

Its Japanese thinking everyone has a 200 IQ score. They dont realize we make some of the simplest of mistakes. I am an IT guy and I find their system a pain in the ass. I will give them props on quality.
Yeah, I'm on hold now waiting for the next Rep. Been waiting 37 mins now, but hopefully I can get this taken care of. I'm not normally someone who goes to this much trouble for stuff like this, but every once in awhile I get a task or something on my mind and I can't get it out until I finish it. Doesn't happen often in my life now, but when it does, watch out hehe.
Today is day 6, hopefully I will get it done today.

Today is day 6 of waiting. I had gotten an email late last night with a phone number to call. I called, waited on hold for close to 90mins. Talked to the Rep for about 5 minutes and everything is back up. They "resurected" the account after asking a few security things. Rep was very nice and apologetic with the inconvenience.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll spend some time here though regardless if it knocks my socks off or not. There are very few games that I have a soft spot for and the FF series is one of them. My first was FFIII, and I had played everyone since. I didn't like the last few very much, but I love the world. I'm sure I'll get some enjoyment out of this.

Much appreciated. I didn't know a few of my RL friends have a guild on Behemoth so I think i'll try there first. Haven't been able to create a toon there, but I'll keep trying. If I can't get in by tomorrow, I'll go to Siren.

I feel your pain OP as i have had to take the calling them route.I also had to wait a very long time as well when calling.The sad part is this is the BEST way of support ,a COSTLY one,since you will get actual English speaking reps and ones as you mentioned that are helpful.
They should have a MUCH better support system,as not everyone has unlimited long distance calling,nor do we want to sit on hold for 30-60 minutes.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
