    But...this was my initial impressions

Sorceror pets still suck like hell, there is no point to them. WoW has FAR better pets and I thought WoW had crappy pets for hunters...after ESO...WoW looked like a 5 star hotel for pets. Don't even know why its in the game. Haven't made any changes.

So sorcerors still suck (I only play pet classes in MMOs)...already a downer

Then I try casting spells, but the spells barely do any damage compared to a 2 handed mace I picked up.

So I go to town and talk to a merchant or npc or whoever he was, but accidentally attack him...he dies in one hit (I think someone else came by and attacked him too), 2 guards attack...I defend myself as its going crazy with things going on and I have no idea what was happening. I honestly thought it was an event they added to spice up the game where the cities (daggerfall in this case) get attacked.

I end up running as they are super powerful, with a 1k bounty. And I only have 100 some gold.

I logged off and gave the account to a friend, and removed the game and subbed to FFXIV.

Hopefully my friend finds more enjoyment than I do, though he only plays pet classes too...so I dunno.

Pet sorcerer is top of the food chain in pvp. You will not beat a good pet sorc, period. Hang in there man. ESO builds have a pretty step learning curve.

Why would they give a Sorcerer that weapon type at level one?  It makes literally no sense.

The client at least performs decently.

I need a game with better caster classes and more distinct itemization choices and a better skill system, though.  This is certainly not it.

Oh well, $60 down the drain.  I can't really complain.  I'll just move on.

I also find the new player experience to be quite terrible in guiding you around decently for the first few quests.

I absolutely HATE how everything disappears on the screen when you're not in combat.  I also hate how you have to press '.' to unlock your mouse.  I don't like the Combat System.  I prefer Tab Targeting.  It works better with house and KB/Gamepad on a PC.  Action Combat systems are more suitable for consoles and controller players, IMO.

I think it was mistake to name a class "sorcerer". Essentially all the classes are casters, but people see the names and get a preconceived image of what it should be.

Its more like you can choose shadow magic (nightblade), fire magic (dragon knight), holy magic(Templar), or lightning magic (sorcerer) as your base and then choose whether to specialize in various melee weapons or staves (magic casting weapon) and choose to learn how to use certain armor to enhance your build. Then you can unlock more skill lines through in game npc "guild" quests- one of which is directly related to using magic, or you could become a vampire or werewolf which unlocks further skill lines.

Its quite different from the WoW-type game model of choosing a specific class and having that totally define your gameplay. Personally I would prefer if there were no classes at all, so I could just choose skills from any of the four base skill-lines.

Actually this stands out for me as well, in Tera or RaiderZ (online games) I can reliably move out of range of a mobs attack and it will not hit me, and visa-versa. I am not sure why it is such an issue in ESO, maybe because it uses a tab-targeting system under the hood?

Nice to see so many people still hating this game a year after, it means it's on the right track :)

EDIT:I just got to the point where someone said SWG 'moved' better. Oh. My. God.

People go see an oculist, please

LOVE the game, I play it as a casual, then it is a very good game.

First thank you for your insult and second have you actually played online games? Guild Wars 2 is a hybrid action combat MMO and doesn't have this issue I have to actually make contact with the mobs physical body to register a hit unlike ESO were I can still hit the mobs 3 zones away and still register a hit.  This is just lazy design Mr fanboi. :)

One more thing people  on this forum need to stop attacking people for leaving feedback about a game. The OP was looking for feedback or impressions of the current release of the game and these are people's opinions nothing more. So tired of all the lame ass trolls that lurk these forums picking apart every little criticism of said game!

Another go after B2P transition, another boring experience. Maybe its only me, but i dont feel ESO as an mmo. If i have the mood to play it as an ES title then maybe it ll be fine, but as a mmo i cant stand it. Anyway, its good to be B2P and i guess more ppl will have fun with it.

Except WoW has nothing to do with this discussion, and what you said may apply to games like EverQuest I or Vanguard, but not to WoW.

WoW is a boring-ass game because once you get to 100 you're basically raiding or there is nothing to do, and it has nothing to do with issues [I perceive] in this game.

It's because they actually like a game the majority of the market dislikes and they want to smother any negative criticism which may prevent new players from buying it or leaving, which will negatively affect their in game experience.

The great hypocrisy in it, however, is that they have no issues going on other games forums and bashing them, or using them for references of "bad" in their attempts to prop up this boring ass game.

Was one of those people that bought the Imperial Edition, played for little over a month and quit. The grouping issues back then killed it for me and my partner. There was alot we liked about it, especially the authentic ES feel but it simply wasn't worth 15 a month as many people felt.

Been playing a few days after F2P launched. Although I am fairly low level I feel they've really done a superb job with all the bug fixes, graphical tweaks, Justice System and just all the major rehauls that have been done. You can tell they've been pretty hard at work. Just about everything everybody has bitched about has been fixed.

I can't lie though, even though I think story wise it does a pretty good job most of the time some of questing is a bit drab and predictable and that aspect hasn't changed. It's is fairly meaty themepark with great pvp and as long as you don't expect some mind-blowing revolutionary sandbox you should be pretty satisfied, more so if you're an ES fan.

That's probably the best way to put it.

I've been a fan of ESO since beta even though I knew it needed work. I've never truly quit, have just taken months off and I'm having as much fun with it as I ever did, perhaps more thanks to the awesome stamina builds that are viable now. The questing is a bit so-so when you're going through the zones but if they can continue what they started in Craglorn than there's going to be some kickass content coming. Craglorn is a hell of a time when you have a group of friends.

I technically never left. I just had issues with my graphics card which was causing my PC to crash when playing any game. I finally got that fixed though so I'm able to play again.

Honestly, if you enjoyed the game before but didn't want to pay a subscription, now is the perfect time to return.

If you wanted to buy the game but didn't want to have to pay a subscription fee, again, now is a great time to get it.

If you hated the game before, why bother returning? You know you will just be looking for any excuse to hate the game all over again.

Yeah this is a strange one to me. It seems to be working fine to me. And with all the new players in the game, its so much easier to find groups now. Every zone i've been in seems to have a lot of helpful players willing to team up with you and help get through quest chains. I did this last night and made a bunch of new friends.

I decided to try it again from a First Person perspective this time and honestly that made a huge difference. I feel more immersed in it and I finally got over the no nameplates over toons heads. It's a pretty deep game with good story and fair quests. I'm interested in doing a dungeon has I have not done one in ESO yet. I have a 15 Templar (Caster DPS). End game I plan on possibly healing. Not sure yet. Liking this spec so far though. For B2P so far it's worth it. Which is funny because my opinion before B2P was 100% opposite.
  • Shayyd80Shayyd80 Member Posts: 110
I've had no issues with lag. Before it went B2P i did though. Seems they fixed that issue.

I dont understand how a game so gorgeous, full of lore and with so many things to do can be so boring. I think the problem with me is that I feel alone all the time, which is not good in a MMO. Rarely is anyone ever on the same quest as me or even in the same dungeon, and when folks are in the same dungeon they are usually blowing through it so fast that I dont have time to really enjoy the ride or even understand what is happening. If I can figure out how to try pvp I will do so and see if I like that, otherwise I will be moving on to another game.

They really got to default to the "don't attack friendly NPCs" option. Lots of people doing exactly this.

    No they shouldn't.

How will the "I'm just going to spam everything" crowd learn?

If you can't think before you do something in ESO, there are other games for you. Asteroids is one of them.

I don't see how there is a need to return to a game now that you can technically return to at any time...  it's not like it went F2P or offered the game at a discount... it's full price.  New players aren't really encouraged to take the plunge now... if they waited this long, they'll wait even longer.
