Many complain about the length in which you have to build-up a character in ESO...

Yes but those tribes usually live together, so it is not some lone guy. Obviously, they are exceptions and blah blah, but on average you cannot do it on your own.

In any case, the OP is not one of those people. OP best stick with single player games.

The statement was not no human has done everything on their own own.

The statement was that no human has ever done anything on their own own. They obviously have.
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it is bad.

Secure (at least better than most, so a team/group of people don't use a loophole to exploit the core feature of the game)

I've noticed most if not all MMO's today are some version of a themepark where developers ensure that they are control of the game, the persistent world and most the player can do is ride their themepark rides and wait until they release new ones. The term role playing is missing today because back in the days I could be a villain, ganker, griefer, hero, vigilante, etc. and the community would know my reputation and that would directly reflect the persistent world and what I as well as they can do around it.

I've recently been moving toward action role playing games like Path of Exile and Marvel Heroes Online mainly cuz I realized I could login whenever and gear up, skill up my character. Sadly, Marvel Heroes Online ended quick for me after getting the costume I wanted and going cosmic. Path of Exile is my best option for now, but the next monthly league is like in Tuesday. It cost me nothing to play and the permadeath challenge is exciting. The only drawback on that game is how again grouping gives players huge advantage to level up.

Anyways, before I go back to Path of Exile any other "non casual" character progression multiplayer games are out there? I know EVE is another option, but the game is way too old and I believe the passive skill gain as well as the zerging that's going on between large corporations is what kept me away from it.

Log into EQ and roll a necro, druid, shaman or magician.

Soloing to max level with decent AA's shouldn't take you more than 2 - 3 years if your really hardcore.
