No one is entitled to a refund when it is presented As-Is and Without Warranty...

What they should do is create a time machine in which when you request a refund, the clock is turned back and all memories of even buying the game are erased from existence... 10 bucks say you would purchase it again because the real problem here is not the game but your impatience.   You would be in an infinite loop of playing and not playing this one game for all eternity.  Good job!

Hindsight is not a do-over card for poor purchasing habits.

Is that a valid reason for a refund though? The game is too hard to control with my peripherals, I want my money back. Would you go in a book store and buy something on quantum mechanics and then expect a refund because your brain hurts?

Perhaps they should give refunds for every reason but they've got to draw the line somewhere.

Is not about brains, perhaps your brains because of incapability of read properly....if I cannot control the game by keyboard and mouse and to understand the game a bibble (ton of instructions) is mut need it. Also the game is a shit and worthless. Perhaps only for complex flightsim fans with no land-spacescapes, like Star Citizen.

And for short, consumers needs an internet law if for some reason we are not  agree or whatever with a product to have a refound back, specially if is a BETA, because is a TEST and if is a TEST then we dont need to pay nothing at all, even if is a crowfounding ( theft ). period

There's no theft here, just people far to willing to give their money away.

While I somewhat agree with the OP in regards to refunds on poor services rendered.  I also feel that this should be a learning experience that you need to take with you as you continue your gaming career.  Stop buying promises.  You essentially purchased a product that you knew was not finished.  You then want a refund because the game isn't finished.  I feel that someone should be able to smack the crap out of you for making a dumb choice.  But, perhaps not getting your money back will serve the same purpose.

So I have a big mouth because I'm disagreeing with you? I think it's a case of you reading more into the examples used in my comments than was intended. That's understandable but hardly warrants the knee-jerk reactions.

It seems strange to complain and then be 'abusive' as well as stereotype someone.  I'm not English by the way, I'm Irish, it's right there on my profile.

Serious, if you haven't played original Pong, original Pacman/Space Invaders and the like, Magnavox-ves-Spectrum-Atari 2600-C64 then you are not a veteran. :P

Don't know about him, but I actually have. :P

Let the guy rant. He feels he got ripped off and can't fix it. He may be right. I quickly became suspicious about where Elite Dangerous was heading and didn't put money into it in the first place, but that doesn't mean I don't know exactly how he feels.

I'm sure we've all spent money and time we can't recover on things that weren't what we were led to believe. It sucks, and there's not much you can do about it, though telling others does help relieve the pressure, and hey, it might even warn some other people to be a bit more cautious as it's not all sparkles and fairy dust out there.

Lost my mind, now trying to lose yours...

I paid 40 on a friends reccomsndation .. I logged in tried to navigate and do a mission couldnt do it logged off and will never play it again.. its even crap with a game pad. Ui is hilariously over comllicated for the massive limitationz of the actual playability of the game...and ummm its not an mmo.. its a multi server game with a max of arounx 30 players per server if that.. and with 500 billion solar systems makes this the worlds most tedious game .. back to eve online for me. Elite has no economy. No multiplay no trade no nothing really.. their first job as a developer is to make the game an mmo. Thus alone would change the games future.

I agree. for almost all the same reasons. I played it. It was not my cup of Joe. Time to move on.

However, One thing I noticed about this website is there are a lot of trolls on it. The trolls seems to like nothing better than attack anyone who they don't agree with. and rarely contribute in any positive way to the topic. I noticed quite a few personal attacks against you.

You showed some class not sinking to their level.

    Condolences on the game purchase.

My recommendation .. keep the game, put it aside for at least a year .. come back to it and take a second look around.

    Have fun

This is assuming they don't pull the old bait and switch tactic I see alot of EA/kickstarters do, where people buy a bunch of the games then they just completly drop devolopment of it leaving people who bought it high and dry. There really should be some way to sue a company that pulls a stunt like that. It happens far to often these days.

The refund issue is why I prefer to get my electronics from future shop or staples here in canada, you can return it for a full refund for any reason, even "I didn't like it" of course there is somethings like software you can only get exchanges on due to piracy and such. I bought a pc monitor a year or two ago or so, and I took it back the same day.. why? it was simply to big, so I got a full refund, and found one of the size I wanted, I still have it today. I'm a happy customer and will go back there again.

Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:

    A. Proven right (if something bad happens)

    or

    B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)

Either way, you can't lose! Try it out sometime!
