But if you are one of those who think that every mmorpg with hotbars and tab target is a WoW clone then theres nothing to talk about here.
/thread
No one is claiming that. But some of us have the actual perspective and knowledge of what MMOs used to be like, to see very clearly when a game is doing its best to copy WoW. As just about every AAA MMO has in the last decade. I agree though, GW2 isn't so WoW cloney.

Yeah, and like i said in my first sentence, the WoW clones are all uglier so scenery is more enjoyable in WoW itself.
This discussion has been going on for a long time. Taking ideas from other games is good for the genre. A straight copy is not.
What game i consider a straight copy of WoW (and EQ)? Rift. Having Rifts and invasions are not enough to differentiate them.
A game like FFXIV i dont consider a WoW clone. It only shares the basic gameplay and thats it. And nope, GW2 isnt a clone either. Out of all the latest mmorpgs GW2 has the least similarities to a traditional WoW-like mmorpg.

Playing alongside others is as viable as playing with others. There are plenty of people who like to play MMO's simply because there are real people behind the characters you see. OR maybe the OP simply likes the type of game-play? MMORPGs do last longer than most SP RPGs. More bang for your buck so to speak.

Worth checking out Rift since it's got a brilliant FTP model. I consider Rift the be the BEST WoW clone there is, with it's own spin on things and features on top.
GW2 isn't a WoW clone but I think, especially for a casual gamer, it's the best MMO out there. There is sooo much scenery to enjoy on a casual basis that you'll feel like you're ripping off ANet. The amount of areas to explore in GW2 is ridiculous, I still haven't got 100% world exploration after many months of playing. The vistas are something you'll probably enjoy, they show sweeping camera views of the scenery when you find them. The dungeon story parts are done in such a way that if you want to watch the story scenes everyone else has to wait until you're finished and I've never come across anyone that has complained yet. You'd love the personal story as well by the sound of it, lots of solo bosses for you to fight during that and the living story.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
FFXIV or Lord of the Ring online(LOTRO) are my suggestions.
Been playing most "WoW clones" and always gone back to LOTRO to relax and travel around the beautiful world If you want examples of how beautiful both games are, just look in my screenshot gallery to see the scenery of both games.
If you want F2P, try Rift or Archeage (it's not a WoW clone though).
If you want to spend money, try ESO, FFXIV, or WS. (ESO and WS are not WoW "clones")
If you want a true WoW clone, go with Rift. That is basically copy & paste.
You want to relax and enjoy the scenery, but that's not really possible unless you level up. There's not a lot of MMO's that allow freedom of travel, due to high level mobs.
You can pretty much do all those things you mention in almost all MMO's though.
edit: I forgot to mention GW2, which is B2P, and it's also not a WoW clone, but it has some of the best scenery you'll find in any MMO.
FFXIV and LotRO both are great games that don't solely rely on dungeons for things to do and both have good communities.
If you like action-y combat then i would put Tera right up there with the other two
RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.
Currently Playing EVE, ESO
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed.
SW-ToR and AoC are 2 games that using the item shop is a required must.
Lotro was quite nice but isnt that having issue's right now (meaning the servers could end at any time)? Is what i have read very recently that the game is struggling, layoffs etc etc etc.
You do have one called Rift, quite nice, does not require guild to play, can do everything. It is free, only need to gain a little loyalty to unlock Auctionhouse useage (otherwise its locked). After that can be played freely.
ESO - Just gone free buy one must buy the game, thats the only requirement to this one. Not been in since it went free to play, ooopsss should say Buy to Play there but i hear item shop is not even required to be used, is just cosmetic stuff.
EQ2 - not played it for a year, last time i was in it was not inspiring at all and did look very dated. May not be to your liking, graphics were nice at release (they had issue's) and had to tone it down (alot) rather than keep saying graphics cards you have are not good enough for our game (even though back then the 6800GTX had just been released a month after EQ2 was released. Thoguh everyone knew their yabba was BS (usuall crap comming from SoE). Yes i know SoE dont own this and others anymore and also heard that they may (if rumours are true) be thinking of re-releasing SWG pre NGE, though i never played or touched this game, just rumours.
FF (whatever) didnt like at all right from the outset, tried it for about an hour or 2 at a friends and said nope, games utter shite, never touched it since, same game as what it is now except it has realm reborn added.
I must say, Stygia never was my fav place (same goes for Egypt in TSW), but that video is awesome seems even the desert has something to show besides the sand...
That's why I put AoC as honorary mention in my post above - but still, I think LotRO would be a better fit simply because of the massive landscape, AoC's zones are smaller and separated with loading screens, so sightseeing is abrupted frequently. Maybe if OP has enough time, can play both of them simultaneously - like I do

There will be a re-location this year, former Eu servers moving back to us, former US servers moving out from Boston to an another datacenter. During the transfer they'll replace / upgrade the hardware (i.e. adding new hamsters, feeding the old ones ).
And yep, the least populated servers won't move sadly, those will be closed. Stil no word when will this happen, and when those folks can start transferring their characters away from the sinking ships...
Don't care at all about gameplay? Just want to see pretty graphics and hear good music?
FFXIV was literally made for you lol.
"FFXIV doesn't have good gameplay lol. I got to level 10 and made that judgment lol."
Unfortunately its hard to even get to level 10 because the first hour or so is probably the most boring start to a game I have ever experienced. If you like quests like "Go and emote /wave to five npcs" though FF14 is definitely your game.
The graphics are amazing however, and Hyanmen always tells me that the gameplay picks up as you progress (and I believe him/her). I even played it for a bit on my ps4 on a good large screen TV and the graphics were amazing- seemingly even better than on my computer for some reason.
I think the difficultly in advising you OP, is your comment about wanting to play a "WoW clone". That could mean so many things. Nearly all mmos seem like "Wow clones" compared to other types of games, but if you have played lots of mmos then you would probably have a different perspective of what constitutes a WoW clone.
So how about breaking it down into mmos that have good graphics first?
Of mmos you can play in the West, subjectively I would say: FF14, Tera, ESO, GW2, Age of Conan (a bit dated though), then maybe Rift (not too shabby, but not great either).
Of those the ones most like WoW in terms of quest set up/basic gameplay are Rift, FF14, and then Tera (although Tera combat is really different from WoW).
My vote for most beautiful but don't care about gameplay is FF14.

GW2 is a good game for just that. You can come along side people with a common goal. Kill a boss, get your own loot and walk away from them with no ties. For the box price you get a lot of value.

You have probably experienced plenty of boring starts to games. The only difference is what was once overwhelming is now just common sense to you. Also the egoistical thought process that if I find something self-explanatory, the game shouldn't go to lengths to explain it to someone who doesn't.
If the current tutorial weeds out people with a similar mindset, truly nothing of value has been lost. It doesn't, though. Time and time again I come across players that don't respect the fact someone is new to some contents and who can't actually deal with such minor inconvenience in a mature fashion.
Using LOL is like saying "my argument sucks but I still want to disagree".

No WoW clones beat WoW at enjoying scenery.

EvE.
Joking, obviously. FFXIV or GW2. GW2 is definitely not a WoW clone, but it's fun and pretty. Plus B2P.
If you are wanting a pretty Wow Clone.
FFXIV is the game to be. The game is more or less WoW with a final fantasy skin/theme with alot of fan throw backs to the earlier games in the series.
Positive thing is it is also one of the more successful mmos. So population is very solid and a large expansion is coming out.
This game currently is probably the most success WoW clone on the market right now. Only one that was not forced to go f2p since it launched.

Age of Conan
the most beautiful WoW type MMO ever made
give it a try, it's free and you'll love it just for music and scenery, and awesome combat mechanics.
Even the quest stories are great
and no pink fairies, instead you get rolling heads and double hand swords
and no asian anime , the BIG plus

I think EQ2 fits all of your criteria except your taste in graphics may or may not be that style. But it's pretty similar gameplay wise.
You might also like Rift.
Doesn't FFXIV require you to group in some parts in order to progress?
Don't care at all about gameplay? Just want to see pretty graphics and hear good music?

Me? Nope, they're saying it, I'm just quoting It was in the dev diaries, and later was detailed by Vyv (in this post https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthread.php?564937-Why-no-more-updates-on-the-transfers-server-closures&p=7335854&highlight=#post7335854), former Eu servers back to Amsterdam, former US ones relocate to Jersey.
U16 is already on Bullroarer so I hope it's near release, they've promised more infos about the transfer after U16 arrives onto live.
